Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever(CChF),caused by Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus(CChFV),is endemic in Africa,Asia,and Europe,but CChF epidemiology and epizootiology is only rudimentarily defined for most *** we summarize what is known about CChF in Central,Eastern,and South-eastern *** multiple international and country-specific databases using a One health approach,we defined disease risk and burden through identification of CChF cases,anti-CChFV antibody prevalence,and CChFV isolation from vector *** identified 2313 CChF cases that occurred in 1944–2021 in the three examined *** Asian countries reported the majority of cases(2,026).In Eastern Asia,China was the only country that reported CChF cases(287).In South-eastern Asia,no cases were ***,we leveraged our previously established classification scheme to assign countries to five CChF evidence *** countries(China,Kazakhstan,Kyrgyzstan,Tajikistan,Turkmenistan,and Uzbekistan)were assigned to level 1 or level 2 based on CChF case reports and the maturity of the countries’surveillance *** countries(Mongolia and Myanmar)were assigned to level 3 due to evidence of CChFV circulation in the absence of reported CChF *** countries in Eastern and South-eastern Asia were categorized in levels 4 and 5 based on prevalence of CChFV vector ***,this paper describes the past and present status of CChF reporting to inform international and local public-health agencies to strengthen or establish CChFV surveillance systems and address shortcomings.

Kinetic degradation of amoxicillin by using the electro-Fenton process in the presence of a graphite rods from used batteries

This study reports the removal of amoxicillin(AMX)in aqueous media using the electroFenton process in the presence of a graphite cathode recovered from used *** impact of the relevant parameters on the electroFenton process,namely the applied current intensity,the temperature,the initial concentration of AMX and the initial concentration of ferrous ions were *** results showed that the optimal values were:I=600 mA,T=25℃,[AMX]_(0)=0.082 mmol·L^( 1) and[Fe^(2+)]=1 mmol·L^(1),leading to 95%degradation and 74%*** model parameters of AMX mineralization were determined using nonlinear methods,showing that it follows a pseudosecondorder *** Energy consumption(EC)calculated under the optimal values was found to be 0.79 kWhg 1,which was of the same order of magnitude of those reported in other findings;while it is noteworthy that the electrodes used in our study are of a lower cost.

Chemical resistance tests on PP-ternary nanocomposite for its application in bioreactor liner fabrication

Continuous usage of bioreactor causes early degradation of most bioreactor liner materials due to the effects of various chemicals, consequently resulting in contamination in the bioprocess. Performance of PP-ternary nanocomposite (PPTN) for its potential application in the fabrication of bioreactor liner material was investigated in this study. The chemical resistance of the composite samples obtained was tested by exposing them to chemicals such as acid, alkaline, water and bacterial solutions, according to ASTM 543-06, and their effects on the composite samples were carefully observed. Specifically, the investigation focused on the changes in the physico-mechanical properties of PPTN following long term of exposure to these chemicals. The results show slight increase in the weight and dimensions of samples in the first few days, followed by constant reading for the period of 4 weeks. The performance in terms of physical properties was in the range of PPTN with 0.61% MWCNT > PPTN 0.45% > PPTN 0.17%. The maximum percentage change in tensile properties, observed in this study, was approximately 10% against PPTN (0.17%), which indicates stable mechanical properties of the composite and invariably suggests that the nanocomposites could serve as a better alternative for bioreactor liner fabrication.

Interaction between beta-lactum antibiotic drug ciprofloxacin hydrochloride(CFh)and cationic surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB)was performed conductometrically in aqueous as well as in the occurrence of different salts(NaCl,KCl as well as Nh_4Cl)over the temperature range of 298.15–323.15 K at the regular interval of 5 *** drug has been suggested for the treatment of bacterial infections such as urinary tract infections and acute sinusitis.A clear critical micelle concentration(CMC)was obtained for pure CTAB as well as(CFh+CTAB)mixed *** decrease in CMC values of CTAB caused by the addition of CFh reveals the existence of the interaction between the components and therefore it is the indication of micelle formation at lower concentration of CTAB and their CMC values further decrease in attendance of salts.A nonlinear behavior in the CMC versus T plot was observed in all the *** ΔG_m^0 values are found to be negative in present study systems demonstrated the stability of the *** values of Δh_m^0 and ΔS_m^0 reveal the existence of hydrophobic and electrostatic interactions between CFh and *** thermodynamic properties of transfer for the micellization were also evaluated and discussed in *** dynamic simulation disclosed that environment of water and salts have impact on the hydrophobic interaction between CFh and *** water and salts,CTAB adopts spherical micelle in which charged hydrophilic groups are interacted with waters whereas hydrophobic tails form the core of the *** hydrophobic core region is highly conserved and *** addition,micelle formation is more favorable in aqueous Na Cl solution than other solutions.

Prolonged Adrenal Insufficiency after Unilateral Adrenalectomy for Cortisolic Adenoma

Background: The suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis by cortisol-secreting adrenocortical tumors is well recognized and requires peri- and postoperative hydrocortisone substitution. Case Presentation: A 48-year-old female patient with hypertension and progressive weight gain, the clinical signs of hypercorticism motivated a hormonal workup revealing an independent ACTh Cushing’s syndrome: with urinary free cortisol (UFC) at 649 nmol/24h (4× normal), adrenocorticotropin hormone (ACTh) at 1.5 ng/l. The rest of the hormonal workup was not performed due to a lack of financial means. An Adrenal CT scan showed a 4 cm right adrenal adenoma. The patient underwent a right adrenalectomy with an adrenal adenoma on pathological examination. The contralateral side was normal. The patient was treated with hydrocortisone 30 mg/d for 6 weeks then 15 mg/d, during the monitoring we noted a persistence of the adrenal insufficiency for now 4 years. Basal cortisol levels during follow-up were very low (he need for synacthen stimulation tests. Conclusion: Adrenal cortisol tumors are recognized by suppression, the duration of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suppression is variable from 11 to 60 months depending on the series, which depends on the duration, severity of hypercortisolism, tumor size and other unknown factors. A longer follow-up of these patients is necessary to look for recovery of the contralateral adrenal gland.

Antioxidant activity of interaction products of the studied compounds with tret-Butyl hydroperoxide is studied. New, more active acceptors of free radicals are formed in the process of oxidative transformations of initial compounds. It is investigated that the products have high inhibiting properties. The parameter fk, characterizing inhibitory effect of an inhibitor is studied.

Aspects on the Mechanism of the 1-Phenyl-1<i>h</i>-pyrazolo[3,4-<i>b</i>]quinoxaline Formation

Condensation of D-glucose, o-phenylenediamine and N,N-benzylphenylhydrazine hydrochloride (NNBPhh) in a one-pot reaction, or condensation of 2-(D-arabino-tetritol-1-yl) quinoxaline and NNBPhh, gave 3-(D-erythro-glycerol-1- yl)-1-phenyl-1h-pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinoxaline. The structure of the latter was determined by 1h NMR spectroscopy and by synthesis using phenylhydrazine hydrochloride instead of NNBPhh. Condensation of D-glucose and 4,5-dichloro-o-phenylenediamine gave 6,7-dichloro-2-(D-arabino-tetritol-1-yl)quinoxaline, which upon condensation with NNBPhh gave the corresponding 6,7-dichloro-3-(D-erythro-glycerol-1-yl)-1-phenyl-1h-pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinoxaline. The structure and mechanism of formation of these compounds are discussed.
