Inhibitory Effects of Several Fluoroquinolones on Feline CYP1A and 3A in Hepatic Microsomes

In this study, the effects of several fluoroquinolones (FQs), such as Ciprofloxacin (CPFX);Orbifloxacin (OBFX);Norfloxacin (NFX);Ofloxacin (OFX);and Enerofloxacin (EFX) on activities of both Cytochrome P450 1A (CYP1A) and Cytochrome P450 3A (CYP3A) of feline microsomes by in vitro tests were studied. Ethoxyresorufin O-deethylation (EROD) and Midazolam 1' hydroxylation and 4-hydroxylation (MDZ1'H and MDZ4H) were analyzed by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). All the FQs inhibited the reactions by a competitive or noncompetitive and irreversible manner. The inhibitory constants (Ki) were as followings: CYP1A;ranged from 0.12 to 1.23 mM for NFX, OBFX, EFX, CPFX, OFX and CYP3A, for MDZ1'H;ranged from 5.8 to 35 and MDZ4H;9 to 29 mM, respectively. As these values are higher by 24 to 200-times of given single clinical dose of serum levels after application of FQs. It indicates that if co-administrated with these FQs by reversible inhibitory manner, the inhibition of CYP1A and CYP3A effect on CYP1A and 3A actions is not very significant to cause drug interaction with above mentioned enzyme substrates. Out of the FQs tested, CPFX and NFX for CYP1A, and CPFX for CYP3A showed irreversible inhibitory effects (time-dependent), so it has been concluded that these drugs may cause drug-drug interaction by accumulation, when they are repeatedly administrated. Since EFX is biotransformed to CPFX by the liver, it could have the identical risk too.

Face recognition (FR) technology has numerous applications in artificial intelligence including biometrics, security,authentication, law enforcement, and surveillance. Deep learning (DL) models, notably convolutional neuralnetworks (CNNs), have shown promising results in the field of FR. However CNNs are easily fooled since theydo not encode position and orientation correlations between features. Hinton et al. envisioned Capsule Networksas a more robust design capable of retaining pose information and spatial correlations to recognize objects morelike the brain does. Lower-level capsules hold 8-dimensional vectors of attributes like position, hue, texture, andso on, which are routed to higher-level capsules via a new routing by agreement algorithm. This provides capsulenetworks with viewpoint invariance, which has previously evaded CNNs. This research presents a FR model basedon capsule networks that was tested using the LFW dataset, COMSATS face dataset, and own acquired photos usingcameras measuring 128 × 128 pixels, 40 × 40 pixels, and 30 × 30 pixels. The trained model outperforms state-ofthe-art algorithms, achieving 95.82% test accuracy and performing well on unseen faces that have been blurred orrotated. Additionally, the suggested model outperformed the recently released approaches on the COMSATS facedataset, achieving a high accuracy of 92.47%. Based on the results of this research as well as previous results, capsulenetworks perform better than deeper CNNs on unobserved altered data because of their special equivarianceproperties.

Spinel ferrites exhibit exceptional magnetic properties,making them a distinctive class of magnetic *** sol-gel technique was utilized for the synthesis of spinel ferrites with the chemical formula Co_(0.6)Sr_(0.4)Ce_(x)Fe_(2-x)O_(4). Flexible impedance and capacitive tensile load sensor based on CNT composite

In this paper, the fabrication and investigation of flexible impedance and capacitive tensile load sensors based on carbon nanotube（CNT） composite are reported. On thin rubber substrates, CNTs are deposited from suspension in water and pressed at elevated temperature. It is found that the fabricated load cells are highly sensitive to the applied mechanical force with good repeatability. The increase in impedance of the cells is observed to be 2.0 times while the decrease in the capacitance is found to be 2.1 times as applied force increases up to 0.3 N. The average impedance and capacitive sensitivity of the cell are equal to 3.4 N^（-1） and 1.8 N^（-1）, respectively. Experimental results are compared with the simulated values,and they show that they are in reasonable agreement with each other.

Non-catalytic conversion of wheat straw,walnut shell and almond shell into hydrogen rich gas in supercritical water media

Agricultural wastes as lignocellulosic biomasses are known as the major resources of bioenergy. These valuable resources can be converted into useful environmental friendly fuels and chemicals. Wheat straw, walnut shell and almond shell are the main agricultural wastes in Kurdistan province, Iran. This study investigates the hydrogen-rich gas production via gasification of these biomasses in supercritical water media. Experiments were performed first, in the base case condition using a stainless steel batch micro reactor system. Then, the effect of reaction time on the total gas yield and yield of hydrogen, were investigated. It was seen that the total gas yields and gasification efficiencies increased by increasing the reaction time to 30 min and then the total gas yield was approximately remained constant. Among three used feed stocks, wheat straw with higher amount of cellulose and lower amount of lignin had the highest total gas and hydrogen yields in shorter reaction *** maximum hydrogen yields of 7.25, 4.1 and 4.63 mmol per gram of wheat straw, almond shell and walnut shell occurred at 10, 15 and 20 min of reaction time, respectively.

Study of a ternary blend system for bulk heterojunction thin film solar cells

In this research, we report a bulk heterojunction（BHJ） solar cell consisting of a ternary blend system. Poly（3-hexylthiophene） P3 HT is used as a donor and [6,6]-phenyl C61-butyric acid methylester（PCBM） plays the role of acceptor whereas vanadyl 2,9,16,23-tetraphenoxy-29 H, 31H-phthalocyanine（VOPc Ph O） is selected as an ambipolar transport material. The materials are selected and assembled in such a fashion that the generated charge carriers could efficiently be transported rightwards within the blend. The organic BHJ solar cells consist of ITO/PEDOT：PSS/ternary BHJ blend/Al structure. The power conversion efficiencies of the ITO/ PEDOT：PSS/P3HT：PCBM/Al and ITO/PEDOT：PSS/P3HT：PCBM：VOPcPhO/Al solar cells are found to be 2.3% and 3.4%, respectively.

Electroplating of Ni/Co–pumice multilayer nanocomposite coatings: Effect of current density on crystal texture transformations and corrosion behavior

The present paper aims to investigate the influence of the current density in the electroplating process on the microstructure, crystal texture transformations, and corrosion behavior of Ni/Co pumice multilayer nanocomposite coatings. The Ni/Co pumice composite coatings were prepared by deposition of Ni, followed by the simultaneous deposition of pumice nanoparticles (NPs) in a Co matrix via an electroplating process at various current densities. Afterward, the morphology, size, topography, and crystal texture of the obtained samples were investigated. Furthermore, electrochemical methods were used to investigate the corrosion behavior of the produced coatings in a solution of 3.5wt% NaCl. The results indicated that increasing the plating current density changed the mechanism of coating growth from the cell state to the column state, in- creased the coating thickness, roughness, and texture coefficient (TC) of the Co (203) plane, and reduced the amount of pumice NPs incorporated into the Ni/Co pumice composite. The electrochemical results also indicated that increasing the current density enhanced the corrosion resistance of the Ni/Co pumice composite.

Inflammatory response related scoring systems in assessing the prognosis of patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma:a systematic review

BACKGROUND： Various scoring systems based on assessment of the systemic inflammatory response help assessing the prognosis of patients with pancreatic ductal *** the present systematic review we evaluated the validity of four pre-intervention scoring systems： Glasgow prognostic score（GPS） and its modified version（mGPS）, platelet lymphocyte ratio（PLR）, neutrophil lymphocyte ratio（NLR）, and prognostic nutrition index（PNI）.DATA SOURCES： MOOSE guidelines were followed and EMBASE and MEDLINE databases were searched for all published studies until September 2013 using comprehensive text word and MeSH terms. All identified studies were analyzed, and relevant studies were included in the systematic ***： Six studies were identified for GPS/mGPS with3 reporting statistical significance for GPS/mGPS on both univariate analysis（UVA） and multivariate analysis（MVA）.Two studies suggested prognostic significance on UVA but not MVA, and in the final study UVA failed to show *** studies evaluated the prognostic value of NLR. Six of them reported prognostic significance for NLR on UVA that persisted at MVA in 4 studies, and in the remaining 2 studies NLR was the only significant factor on UVA. In the remaining5 studies, all in patients undergoing resection, there was no significance on UVA. Seven studies evaluated PLR, with only one study demonstrated its prognostic significance on both UVAand MVA, the rest did not show the significance on UVA. Of the two studies identified for PNI, one demonstrated a statistically significant difference in survival on both UVA and MVA, and the other reported no significance for PNI on ***： Both GPS/mGPS and NLR may be useful but further better-designed studies are required to confirm their value. PLR might be little useful, and there are at present inadequate data to assess the prognostic value of PNI. Toxicity evaluation of ZnO and TiO_2 nanomaterials in hydroponic red bean(Vigna angularis) plant:Physiology, biochemistry and kinetic transport

The toxicity and kinetic uptake potential of zinc oxide（Zn O） and titanium dioxide（TiO2）nanomaterials into the red bean（Vigna angularis） plant were investigated. The results obtained revealed that Zn O, due to its high dissolution and strong binding capacity, readily accumulated in the root tissues and significantly inhibited the physiological activity of the plant. However, TiO2 had a positive effect on plant physiology, resulting in promoted growth. The results of biochemical experiments implied that Zn O, through the generation of oxidative stress, significantly reduced the chlorophyll content, carotenoids and activity of stress-controlling enzymes. On the contrary, no negative biochemical impact was observed in plants treated with TiO2. For the kinetic uptake and transport study, we designed two exposure systems in which Zn O and TiO2 were exposed to red bean seedlings individually or in a mixture approach. The results showed that in single metal oxide treatments, the uptake and transport increased with increasing exposure period from one week to three ***, in the metal oxide co-exposure treatment, due to complexation and competition among the particles, the uptake and transport were remarkably decreased. This suggested that the kinetic transport pattern of the metal oxide mixtures varied compared to those of its individual constituents.
