The production of heavy and extra-heavy oil is challenging because of the rheological properties that crude oil presents due to its high asphaltene *** upgrading and recovery processes of these unconventional oils are typically water and energy intensive,which makes such processes costly and environmentally *** catalysts could be used to enhance the upgrading and recovery of heavy oil under both in situ and ex situ *** this study,the effect of the Ni-Pd nanocatalysts supported on fumed silica nanoparticles on post-adsorption catalytic thermal cracking of n-C_7 asphaltenes was investigated using a thermogravimetric analyzer coupled with *** performance of catalytic thermal cracking of n-C_7asphaltenes in the presence of NiO and PdO supported on fumed silica nanoparticles was better than on the fumed silica support *** a fixed amount of adsorbed n-C_7asphaltenes（0.2 mg/m～2）,bimetallic nanoparticles showed better catalytic behavior than monometallic nanoparticles,confirming their synergistic *** corrected OzawaFlynn-Wall equation（OFW） was used to estimate the effective activation energies of the catalytic *** mechanism function,kinetic parameters,and transition state thermodynamic functions for the thermal cracking process of n-C_7 asphaltenes in the presence and absence of nanoparticles are investigated.

Effect of monovalent/divalent ions and siO2-based nanocomposite dosage on thermochemical stability of HPAM polymeric solutions

This study evaluated the effect of monovalent and divalent ions and the dosage of a siO2-based nanocomposite on the thermochemical stability of HPAM polymeric solution. Chelating amine-functionalized NPs（AFNPs） were used to enhance the thermochemical stability of HPAM based on capturing monovalent/divalent ions after seven days at 70°C. Different polymer solutions prepared with calcium chloride dihydrate（CaCl2·2H2O） at 2000 mg/L and sodium chloride（NaCl） at 10000 mg/L, and two different dosages of HPAM（1000 and 2000 mg/L） were assessed in the presence and absence of AFNPs at dosages of 200, 500 and 1000 mg/L. The nanocomposite was characterized by N2adsorption, Fourier-transformed infrared spectrophotometry（FTIR）, thermogravimetric analysis（TGA）, dynamic Light scattering（DLs）,and Zeta potential（ZP）. stability tests over time confirmed the positive effect of nanocomposite on increasing the thermochemical stability of polymer solutions. Results revealed that adding 0, 200, and 500 mg/L of nanocomposite to the polymeric solution at 1000 mg/L of HPAM, 10000 mg/L of NaCl, and 2000 mg/L of CaCl2·2H2O led to the viscosity reductions of 73.5%, 18%, and less than 1% after 7 days（70°C）, respectively. Nanocomposite at 200 mg/L reduces the polymer degradation in the presence of the two salts evaluated separately, i.e., 20% for 10000 mg/L of NaCl and 15% for 2000 mg/L of CaCl2·2H2O. The adsorption tests on AFNPs and siO2NPs concluded that AFNPs had higher adsorption of cations in comparison to siO2NPs and that greater adsorption of cations is related to a reduction in polymer degradation.

Flexible impedance and capacitive tensile load sensor based on CNT composite

In this paper, the fabrication and investigation of flexible impedance and capacitive tensile load sensors based on carbon nanotube（CNT） composite are reported. On thin rubber substrates, CNTs are deposited from suspension in water and pressed at elevated temperature. It is found that the fabricated load cells are highly sensitive to the applied mechanical force with good repeatability. The increase in impedance of the cells is observed to be 2.0 times while the decrease in the capacitance is found to be 2.1 times as applied force increases up to 0.3 N. The average impedance and capacitive sensitivity of the cell are equal to 3.4 N^（-1） and 1.8 N^（-1）, respectively. Experimental results are compared with the simulated values,and they show that they are in reasonable agreement with each other.

The mechanism and regioselectivity of 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of N-[methyl]-C-[5-nitro-2-furyl] nitrilimine with dimethyl 7-oxabicyclo[2,2,1]hepta-2,5-diene-2,3-dicarboxylate were investigated using activation energy calculations and density functional theory-based reactivity indexes. The reaction proceeds by an asynchronous concerted mechanism. The calculations are performed at the b3LYP/6-31G（d） level of theory and the obtained results are in agreement with experimental outcome.

A non-isolated high gain step-up DC-DC converter for low power applications is suggested in this *** the designed transformerless converter,the main switch current and voltage stress is reduced while maintaining high voltage *** instance,with a duty cycle of 0.5 a voltage gain equal to 5 is achieved while the normalized switch voltage stress is ***,it decreases power losses of active and passive *** the proposed converter design,the switched-capacitor(sC)technique is used to obtain maximum voltage transfer gain using only one *** three modes of operation,i.e.,continuous conduction mode(CCM),boundary conduction mode(bCM),and discontinuous conduction mode(DCM),are studied in *** small signal analysis(ssA)of the designed converter is investigated,and its steady-state model is examined under *** of the proposed converter proposed in this study is assessed and tested using a *** of the converter is recorded above 94%in a wide range of output ***,compared to the other converters,the results suggest satisfactory performance of the designed *** issue of the proposed converter is that its input current is not smooth due to using the switched-capacitor cell in its *** issue is alleviated by using input filters.

Investigation into the Regiochemistry of 1,3-Dipolar Cycloaddition of C,N-Diphenyl Nitrone with some Vinyl sulfoximines as Dipolarophile： Theoretical studies

The regiochemistry of 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions of C,N-diphenyl nitrone with some vinyl sulfoximines as dipolarophile was investigated using density functional theory （DFT）-based reactivity indexes and activation energy calculations at b3LYP/6-31G（d） level of theory. Analysis of the geometries and bond orders （bOs） at the Ts structures associated with the different reaction pathways shows that these 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reac- tions occur via an asynchronous concerted mechanism. Analysis of the local electrophilicity and nucleophilicity in- dexes permits an interpretation about the regioselectivity of these 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions. The theoretical results obtained in the work clearly predict the regiochemistry of the isolated cycloadducts and agree to experimental outcomes.
