The Proterozoic Aravalli-Delhi orogenic complex hosts a large number of economically important stratabound base metal sulphide deposits. In the present work, rock samples taken from Outcrop and Underground mines of Sindeskar Kalan, Vedanta Group, Rajpura Dariba-Bethumni Belt which were located at a distance of 76 Kms from Udaipur District (Rajasthan) have been studied. The chief litho units of the group were identified which contain sulfide-bearing calc-silicate and graphite mica schist, dolomite marble, calc-biotite schist and quartzite. Importance to the ore minerals like galena and sphalerite which have been reported in association with the buffer minerals like pyrite and pyrrhotite occurred in the host rocks of the study area. The study of melt inclusion (sulfide melt) of sphalerite showed the maximum temperature of melting which was 923°C on the Linkam-TMS94 (the maximum temperature limit of the system is up to 1500°C). The maximum temperature of melting of sphalerite reveals that the dolerite and/or pegmatite intrusion might have supplied sulfide rich melt during the study area in the geological past.

在金属阳离子和多酸阴离子之间广泛存在着一种超分子相互作用,它经常被用来合成多酸基金属-有机骨架晶态材料.这种相互作用还可以用来调控金属-有机骨架材料的成核生长过程,从而实现其纳米晶体的可控制备.本文将Keggin型多酸阴离子引入到金属-有机骨架材料的前驱体溶液中作为调节剂,得到一系列形貌规则、尺寸均一的[Cu3(BTC)2]n(BTC=1,3,5-苯三甲酸)纳米晶,包括八面体、截角八面体、多级空心球、空心八面体等.此外,这种体系可以用于构建贵金属纳米晶@金属-有机骨架复合材料,其催化性质相对于单纯的贵金属纳米晶有较大提高.

[目的]对比不同林草植被恢复类型下黄土团聚体稳定性和入渗特性的差异,为黄土高原地区生态恢复模式的合理优化提供理论支持。[方法]以黄土区撂荒地(C_(1),对照)、苜蓿地(C_(2))、天然草地(C_(3))、油松+侧柏混交林(L_(1))、刺槐+侧柏混交林(L_(2))为对象,采用萨维诺夫法和单环双水头法分别测定了水稳性团聚体组成状况、饱和导水率(K_(s))。以平均质量直径(MWD)、几何直径(GMD)、颗粒分形维数(D)、破坏率(PAD)、>0.25 mm水稳性团聚体占比(M w)和饱和导水率为评价指标,分析了不同林草植被恢复类型的土壤团聚体稳定性和入渗特性差异及其影响因素。[结果]①0—30 cm土层范围内,C_(1)的GMD和MWD最低,林草植被恢复类型的GMD,MWD表现为L_(1)和C_(3)>L_(2)和C_(2),而PAD和D则相反。②0—10 cm土层,L_(1)的>0.25 mm水稳定团聚体含量最高(47.24%),其次是C_(3)和L_(2),C_(1)最低(24.00%);而10—30 cm土层,C_(3)的>0.25 mm水稳定团聚体含量最高(10—20 cm处为35.41%,20—30 cm处为27.96%),L_(2)最低(10—20 cm处为11.46%,20—30 cm处为8.00%)。③不同林草植被恢复类型的表层土壤入渗特性变异系数均介于0.001~0.360,L_(1)的K_(s)(0.307 cm/min)最大,C_(1)的K_(s)(0.044 cm/min)最小。④团聚体稳定性指标(PAD除外)和K_(s)均与有机质、孔隙度、容重呈现显著或极显著相关。[结论]林草植被恢复有助于改善黄土团聚体稳定性和入渗特性,长期林地恢复类型(L_(1))的团聚体稳定性和入渗特性优于天然草地(C_(3)),而短期林地恢复类型(L_(2))却不如天然草地(C_(3)),植被恢复应注重时间的积累。

The Manganese deposits of Andhra Pradesh are associated with a thick sequence of Precambrian rocks, belonging to Khondalite and Charnockite groups of Dharwar Supergroup that forms part of 2500 to 3000 m.y. old Eastern Ghat complex of India. The study area is the Manganese deposits of Vizianagram-Visakhapatnam Manganese Belt of Andhra Pradesh. The study area lies about 150 km NE of Visakhapatnam between 18°12′N - 18°30′N and 83°20′E - 83°45′E. The mineralization of Manganese ores is confined to different rock types, belonging to both Khondalite and Charnockite groups, where they are dispersed throughout the country rocks as small lenses, pockets, veins and irregular bodies of varying dimensions. Quartz, garnet, clay, limonite and apatite are the common gangue minerals in the Manganese ores. The presence of quartz, garnet and apatite brings down the grade of the ore. Ferruginous laterite and ochre generally work as capping of the Manganese deposits. The various Manganese ore minerals present in these deposits are indentified as 1) Primary minerals-braunite, bixbyite, vredenburgite, jacobsite and hausmannite, 2) secondary minerals-psilomelane, cryptomelane, hollandite, pyrolusite and wad. The primary ore minerals are considered to be syngenetic and regionally metamorphosed while, the associated secondary ore minerals are formed due to alteration of the primary ores.

The aim of this study is first to evaluate the Tunisian geothermal energy and second to test the performance of horizontal ground heat exchanger. An experimental set-up has been constructed for climatic condition of Borj Cedria located in the north of Tunisia for space cooling. Results obtained during experiment were presented and discussed. The ground temperature at several depths was measured, the overall heat transfer coefficient (U) was determined. To evaluate the system efficiency, the energy analysis was applied;the energy efficiency was found to range from 14% to 28%. The heat exchange rate was quantified, the pressure losses were calculated. The total heat rejected by using the ground heat exchanger (GHE) system was compared to the total cool requirements of a tested room with 12 m2 surface. The results showed that the GHE, with 25 m of length buried at 1 m depth, covers 38% of the total cool requirement of the tested room. This study showed that the ground heat exchanger provide a new way of cooling buildings, it also showed that Tunisia have an important thermal potential. This favorable circumstance allows Tunisia to be a pioneer in the exploitation of geothermal energy for the installation of ground source heat pump systems.

Ore petrography denotes two types of sphalerites, 1) highly deformed and dark brown colour, 2) less deformed and with light yellow colour. Galena shows high reflectance and a network of triangular pits. Pyrite shows high reflectance and anomalous anisotropism because of high brittleness.

研究背景:微量白蛋白尿(Microalbuminuria,MA)是多种肾脏系统疾病的早期指标,镰状细胞贫血(Sickle cell anaemia,SCA)可引发肾脏损伤并发症,但是MA与其相关性研究目前开展甚少,多项研究显示儿童SCA患者常见有MA.目的:探讨MA的发生率及其在青少年儿童SCA患者中的临床意义对象与方法:本研究为描述性,以医院为基础的断面研究。入选对象为2016.07-2017.01期间收住与镰状细胞病区的3-18岁患者。尿液标本采用具有96.5%敏感性、98.3%特异性的特殊尿液微量测试条(Cliawaived Microlalbumin 2-1 Combo,USA)测试。记录静息血压、血红蛋白和相关临床资料。数据分析采用SPSS17.0,计数资料采用卡方分析,独立样本均值采用t检验,潜在影响MA的数值采用二元逻辑回归分析。结果:120例患者中女性占53%,年龄3-18岁,29例(24%)患者检出MA。剧烈疼痛、输血和异常血压等临床特点均与MA无显著相关。检出MA的患者血红蛋白水平显著低于未检出MA的患者(5.9±1.2 Vs 7.4±1.0 g/dl,respectively),P=0.001。多元逻辑回归分析显示血红蛋白水平和年龄与MA密切相关,较高的血红蛋白值显示有保护效应(Odds ratio=0.55),P=0.001。而大年龄患者更有M A可能(Odds ratio=1.7)P=0.001。结论:MA常见于SCA的儿童青少年患者,与年龄和血红蛋白值相关。

High Pressure Water-Jet Technology for the Surface Treatment of Al-Si Alloys and Repercussion on Tribological Properties

Recent developments in high pressure water-jet technology have brought the process to the forefront as a means of surface treatment. Water jet technology offers cleaning, cutting, processing as well as potential refinement of surface properties. By adapting the process parameters the surface characteristics can be changed while the profile remains the same. In the present study, water-jet technology was used for the surface treatment of Al-Si alloy to investigate its effect on tribological properties. Dry sliding wear behavior was investigated against AISI 52100 bearing steel ball using a reciprocating ball-on-flat configuration. Optical microscopy examination reveals that ploughing of grains, transgranular and intergranular propagation of cracks;are the mechanisms by which material is removed during water jet treatment. While, on the other hand, SEM observation of the wear track reveals that plastic deformation and delamination are the dominant wear mechanism during the wear process. Water jet treatment was compared to hot isostatic pressing in terms of its effects on wear resistance and surface porosity of Al-Si alloy. It was found that, hot isostatic pressing reduces the total amount of porosity at the expanse of hardness while water jet treatment produces a compressed surface having higher hardness and compressive residual stress, which ultimately increases wear resistance.

Short-Term Effects of Ozone and PM<sub>2.5</sub>on Mortality in 12 Canadian Cities

Numerous recent epidemiological studies have linked health effects with short-term exposure to air pollution levels commonly found in North America. The association between two key pollutants—ozone and fine particulate matter— and mortality in 12 Canadian cities was explored in a time-series study. City-specific estimates were obtained using Poisson regression models, adjusting for the effects of seasonality and temperature. Estimates were then pooled across cities using the inverse variance method. For a 10 ppb increase in 1-hr daily maximum ozone levels, significant associations were in the range of 0.56% - 2.47% increase in mortality. For a 10 μg/m3 increase in the 24-hr average PM2.5 concentration of, significant associations varied between 0.91% and 3.17% increase in mortality. Generally, stronger associations were found among the elderly. Effects estimates were robust to adjustment for seasonality, but were sensitive to lag structures. There was no evidence for effect modification of the mortality-exposure association by city-level ecologic covariates.
