Prediction of C-glycosylated apigenin （vitexin） biosynthesis in Ficus deltoidea based on plant proteins identified by LC-MS/MS

Plant secondary metabolites act as defence molecules to protect plants from biotic and abiotic stresses. In particular, C-glycosylated flavonoids are more stable and reactive than their O-glycosylated counterparts. Therefore, vitexin (apigenin 8-C glucoside) present in Ficus deltoidea is well-known for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antidiabetic properties. Phenol based extraction was used to extract proteins (0.05% yield) with less plant pigments. This can be seen from clear protein bands in gel electrophoresis. In-gel trypsin digestion was subsequently carried out and analysed for the presence of peptides by LC-MS/MS. Thirteen intact proteins are identified on a 12% polyacrylamide gel. The mass spectra matching was found to have 229 proteins, and 11.4% of these were involved in secondary metabolism. Proteins closely related to vitexin biosynthesis are listed and their functions are explained mechanistically. Vitexin synthesis is predicted to involve plant polyketide chalcone synthase, isomerization by chalcone isomerase, oxidation by cytochrome P450 to convert flavanone to flavone, and transfer of sugar moiety by C-glycosyltransferase, followed by dehydration to produce flavone-8-C-glucosides. Phenol based extraction, followed by gel electrophoresis and LC-MS/MS could identify proteome explaining vitexin biosynthesis in F. deltoidea. Many transferases including β-1,3-galactosyltransferase 2 and glycosyl hydrolase family 10 protein were detected in this study. This explains the importance of transferase family proteins in Cglycosylated apigenin biosynthesis in medicinal plant.

Development of a new connection for precast concrete walls subjected to cyclic loading

The Industrialized Building System （IBS） was recently introduced to minimize the time and cost of project construction. Accordingly, ensuring the integration of the connection of precast components in IBS structures is an important factor that ensures stability of buildings subjected to dynamic loads from earthquakes, vehicles, and machineries. However, structural engineers still lack knowledge on the proper connection and detailed joints o fiBS structure construction. Therefore, this study proposes a special precast concrete wall-to-wall connection system for dynamic loads that resists multidirectional imposed loads and reduces vibration effects （PI2014701723）. This system is designed to connect two adjacent precast wall panels by using two steel U-shaped channels （i.e., male and female joints）. During casting, each joint is adapted for incorporation into a respective wall panel after considering the following conditions： one side of the steel channel opens into the thickness face of the panel; a U-shaped rubber is implemented between the two channels to dissipate the vibration effect; and bolts and nuts are used to create an extension between the two U-shaped male and female steel channels. The developed finite element model of the precast wall is subjected to cyclic loads to evaluate the performance of the proposed connection during an imposed dynamic load. Connection performance is then compared with conventional connections based on the energy dissipation, stress, deformation, and concrete damage in the plastic range. The proposed precast connection is capable of exceeding the energy absorption of precast walls subjected to dynamic load, thereby improving its resistance behavior in all principal directions.

Dynamics of tuberculosis in HIV-HCV co-infected cases

This work presents a compartmental mathematical model describing transmission and spread of tuberculosis(TB)in HIV-HCV co-infected *** novelty of this work comes through mathematical modeling of the dynamics of TB not only in HIV but also in HIV-HCV co-infected *** analyze the formulated model by proving the existence of disease-free equilibrium *** calculate the basic reproduction number Ro,of the model and construct Lyapunov-Lasalle candidate function to explore the global asymptotic stability of the disease-free equilibrium *** from the mathematical analysis indicates that the disease-free equilibrium solution is globally asymptotically stable if Ro<*** existence of unique endemic equilibrium solution is established through numerical ***,the model is reformulated as an optimal control problem,considering time-dependent controls(vaccination and public health education)to minimize the spread of tuberculosis in HIV-HCV co-infected cases,using Pontryagin's maximum *** simulations and cost-effectiveness analysis are carried out which reveal that vaccination combined with public health education would reduce the spread of tuberculosis when HIV-HCV co-infected cases have been successfully controlled in the population.

In the present study,we selected five medicinal plants from three families（Papaveraceae,Moraceae and Pinaceae）,two families within dicotyledonous and the last one from Pinales order of Gymenosperma（Macleaya microcarpa（Maxim.）Fedde.,Papaver somniferum L.,Papaver radicatum ***-radicatum（Kitag.）Kitag.,Morus alba L.,Pinus *** *** et ***）.In this study we used optical microscope and scanning electron microscopy（SEM）for high-resolution imaging of plant *** we used the Plant Print Technique（***）.Most SEM imaging employs the secondary electron detector under high vacuum to provide pseudo-3D images of plant organs and especially of surface structures such as trichomes and stomata guard cells;these samples generally have to be metal-coated to avoid charging *** this study Scanning electron microscope is mainly used for observing the apparent structures of sample blocks of Plant Print,which are three-dimensional *** making the standard samples of Plant Print identification of apparent structures,we found that there was different between plants apparent structures from different families but no different in the same family.

A Query-Based Greedy Approach for Authentic Influencer Discovery in SIoT

The authors propose an informed search greedy approach that efficiently identifies the influencer nodes in the social Internet of Things with the ability to provide legitimate ***,the proposed approach minimizes the network size and eliminates undesirable *** that,the proposed approach ranks each of the nodes and prioritizes them to identify an authentic ***,the proposed approach discards the nodes having a rank(α)lesser than 0.5 to reduce the network complexity.αis the variable value represents the rank of each node that varies between 0 to *** with the higher value ofαgets the higher priority and vice *** threshold valueα=0.5 defined by the authors with respect to their network pruning requirements that can be vary with respect to other research ***,the algorithm in the proposed approach traverses the trimmed network to identify the authentic node to obtain the desired *** performance of the proposed method is evaluated in terms of time complexity and accuracy by executing the algorithm on both the original and pruned *** results show that the approach identifies authentic influencers on a resultant network in significantly less time than in the original ***,the accuracy of the proposed approach in identifying the influencer node is significantly higher than that of the original ***,the comparison of the proposed approach with the existing approaches demonstrates its efficiency in terms of time consumption and network traversal through the minimum number of hops.

Anterior myocardial pseudoinfarction in a patient with diabetic ketoacidosis

Diabetic ketoacidosis remains one of the most serious complications of diabetes mellitus. Among its precipitating factors is myocardial ischemia, responsible for 1% of the cases of diabetic *** Diabetic ketoacidosis both with and without hyperkalemia has been reported to mimic a myocardial infarction pattem on ECG with ST segment elevation, described as pseudoinfarction pattern. Thus, it is important to raise awareness among physicians, as subjecting patients to invasive medical management can be avoided. We present a case of a 47-year-old female with diabetic ketoacidosis and hyperkalemia with initial ECG findings of ST segment elevation, but an urgent left heart catheterization revealed non-obstructive coronary disease.
