This study explores the controversy surrounding the translation of the name of a new cultural infrastructure in Hong Kong,specifically related to the cultural heritage of traditional Chinese *** first performing arts landmark in Hong Kong's West Kowloon Cultural District was named the Xiqu Centre;the term xiqu is a Hanyu pinyin representing traditional Chinese *** this translation issue has been intensely debated for over a decade,it remains unexplored in the *** reference to Venuti's translation strategies of foreignization and domestication,this study examines the Hong Kong public's views on the translation of the name of this cultural landmark and the underlying drivers of their *** uses internet-based surveys,semi-structured interviews with the public,and interviews with experts as data *** results revealed that factors of(1)aesthetics and artistry,(2)cultural identity,and(3)publicity and internationalization have contributed to public *** study^findings shed new light on how translation interacts with cultural,social,and political factors by examining how Hong Kong’s unique historical relationship with China and the West has played a role in this translation *** findings have significant implications for the translation of culture-bound elements and the transmission of cultural heritage in Hong Kong and worldwide.

An air pollution forecast system,ARIA Regional,was implemented in 2007–2008 at the Beijing Municipality environmental Monitoring Center,providing daily forecast of main pollutant *** chemistry-transport model CHIMeRe was coupled with the dust emission model MB95 for restituting dust storm events in springtime so as to improve forecast *** storm events were sporadic but could be extremely intense and then control air quality indexes close to the source areas but also far in the Beijing area.A dust episode having occurred at the end of May 2008 was analyzed in this article,and its impact of particulate matter on the Chinese air pollution index （API） was *** our estimation,about 23 Tg of dust were emitted from source areas in Mongolia and in the Inner Mongolia of China,transporting towards *** episode of dust storm influenced a large part of North China and east China,and also South *** model result was then evaluated using satellite observations and in situ *** simulated daily concentrations of total suspended particulate at 6：00 UTC had a similar spatial pattern with respect to OMI satellite aerosol *** evolution of dust plume was evaluated by comparing dust aerosol optical depth （AOD） calculated from the simulations with AOD derived from MODIS satellite ***,the comparison of reported Chinese API in Beijing with API calculated from the simulation including dust emissions had showed the significant improvement of the model results taking into accountmineral dust correctly.

Background:Thanks to an improved therapeutic regimen in childhood B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia(BCP-ALL),5 year-overall survival now exceeds 90%.Unfortunately,the 25%of children who relapse have an initial poor prognosis,potentially driven by pre-existing or emerging molecular *** latter are initially and essentially identified by ***,some subtle alterations are not visible through ***:Single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNP)array is an alternative way of chromosomal analysis allowing for a more in-depth evaluation of chromosomal modifications such as the assessment of copy number alterations(CNA)and loss of heterozygosity(LOH).This method was applied here in retrospective diagnosis/relapse paired samples from seven children with BCP-ALL and in a prospective cohort of 38 newly diagnosed childhood ***:In the matched study,compared to the initial karyotype,SNP array analysis reclassified two patients as poor prognosis *** during relapse was seen for 4 CNA and 0.9 *** the prospective study,SNP reclassified the 10 patients with intermediate karyotype as 7 good prognosis and 3 poor ***,in all the children tested,SNP array allowed to identify additional anomalies compared to conventional karyotype,refine its prognostic value and identify some druggable anomalies that could be used for precision ***,the anomalies detected could be segregated in four groups respectively involved in B-cell development,cell proliferation,transcription and molecular ***:SNP therefore appears to be a method of choice in the integrated diagnosis of BCP ALL,especially for patients initially classified as intermediate *** complementary method of both cytogenetics and high throughput sequencing allows to obtain further classified information and can be useful in case of failure of these techniques.

Human impacts on earth's ecosystems have greatly intensified in the last decades. This is reflected in unexpected disturbance events, as well as new and increasing socio-economic demands, all of which are affecting the resilience of forest ecosystems worldwide and the provision of important ecosystem services. This Anthropocene era is forcing us to reconsider past and current forest management and silvicultural practices, and search for new ones that are more flexible and better at dealing with the increasing uncertainty brought about by these accelerating and cumulative global changes. Here, we briefly review the focus and limitations of past and current forest management and silvicultural practices mainly as developed in europe and North America. We then discuss some recent promising concepts, such as managing forests as complex adaptive systems, and approaches based on resilience, functional diversity, assisted migration and multi-species plantations, to propose a novel approach to integrate the functionality of species-traits into a functional complex network approach as a flexible and multi-scale way to manage forests for the Anthropocene. This approach takes into consideration the high level of uncertainty associated with future environmental and societal changes. It relies on the quantification and dynamic monitoring of functional diversity and complex network indices to manage forests as a functional complex network. Using this novel approach, the most efficient forest management and silvicultural practices can be determined, as well as where, at what scale, and at what intensity landscape-scale resistance, resilience and adaptive capacity of forests to global changes can be improved.

Introduction: Over time, new sexual practices other than the common ones are frequently described. This work aimed to determine the sexual orientation and its associated factors among adolescents attending school in two big cities in Cameroon. Methodology: A cross-sectional study with prospective data collection took place from November 2021 to April 2022 in eight secondary schools (four in Yaoundé and four in Douala). We conducted non-probability, consecutive sampling on school-going, sexually active adolescents between the ages of 14 and 19 years. A self-administered questionnaire to students was used to study their sexual orientations and practices. Univariate and multivariate analyses made it possible to find the associated factors using the chi-square test. Results: We included 1274 adolescents with an average age of 18 years;majority were boys (54.8%) for a sex ratio of 1.21. Most (49.7%) were from two-parent families. Cisgender was the most common self-gender identity (89.6%). The main sexual orientation was heterosexuality (82.3%), followed by bisexuality (9.7%) and homosexuality (8%). The average age at first sexual intercourse (coitarche) was 15 years and the coitarche was consenting in 84.1%. Sexual practices included: kissing (94.7%), fondling (93.4%), vaginal penetration (80.6%), oral sex (40.4%), masturbation (22.8%), fisting (18.4%), and anal penetrations (17.5%). The majority of sexual intercourse acts (55.8%) took place without protection;24.6% of adolescents practiced them with a person of the same sex and 18.4% with several others simultaneously. The factors associated with heterosexuality were age ≤17 years (aOR: 2.44 [1.36 - 4.40];p = 0.003), self-identification opposite to primary sexual characteristics (aOR: 12.05 [5.13 - 28.29];p 0.001), absence of consent during the first coitus (aOR: 7.09 [3.61 - 13.93];p 0.001) and a history of sexual intercourse with a person of the same sex (aOR: 94.17 [43.36 - 183.39];p 0.001). Mortality of Children in the Intensive Care Unit of the pediatric University Hospital of Bangui

Background: In sub-Saharan Africa, one in 13 children died before their fifth birthday. Objective: To study mortality among children hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the CHUPB. Methodology: This was a retrospective, descriptive study over a 12-month period. Included were children aged 1 month to 15 years hospitalized in the intensive care unit and who died during the period. The data were entered and analyzed through the epi Info software. The statistical test used was pearson’s chi2. Results: The overall mortality rate was 21.49%. The sex ratio was 1.14 and the mean age was 3.17 ± 2.21 years. Children 5 years of age accounted for 78.49% (n = 197) of cases. Deaths were more frequent in January, April and December. The mean time to consultation was 6.91 ± 1.8 days. Fever 78.48% (n = 197), diarrhea/vomiting 35.45% (n = 89) and convulsions 26.29% (n = 66) were the main reasons for consultation. Prior to admission, treatment was administered in 73.38% (n = 184) of children. The main diagnoses of death were: septic shock 29.08% (n = 73), hypovolemic shock post AeG 17.13% (n = 43), severe malaria 10.76% (n = 27) and meningitis 6.38% (n = 16). Death was early in 66.53% (n = 167) of cases. It was influenced by male sex, origin of residence, rural residence, herbal medicine and the occurrence of deaths during the shifts after 16 hours. Conclusion: Mortality in pediatrics remains a concern in our practice. It is related to conditions that are mostly preventable by vaccination, information, education and communication.
