Microbial fermentation of blue honeysuckle(Lonicera caerulea L.) polyphenol promotes insulin secretion and intervenes in obesity by promoting short-chain fatty acids production

During obesity treatment， clinicians have been burdened by the ever-increasing number of patients and the side effects of drug treatment. Finding new plant-derived active ingredients as an intervention for obesity has become a research focus. In this study， Plackett–Burman and Central Composite Design experiments， plant-wide target metabolomics technology， simulated human colon fermentation test， and cell experiment in vitro were successively used to investigate the effects of fermented and unfermented polyphenols (FP and UP， respectively) of blue honeysuckle on obesity. After the optimization of the response surface method， polyphenol content (1878.08 ±14.53) mg/100 g increased by 2.63 times after Lactobacillus rhamnosus 6224 and Saccharomyces cerevisiae W5 mixed fermentation. Twenty-three significantly different metabolites were observed in FP and UP. Of them， 7 different metabolites were significantly and positively correlated with short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs)， whereas negatively correlated with lipopolysaccharides (LPS). The contents of these 7 metabolites were significantly increased in FP. Furthermore， the effects of FP and UP on the SCFA biosynthesis pathway were different. Cell experiments revealed that polyphenols can significantly promote the secretion of gastrointestinal endogenous hormones and insulin and inhibit interleukin-6 levels. Linear regression analysis revealed SCFAs had a positive regulatory effect on glycolipid metabolism， whereas LPS had a negative effect. Overall， these crucial findings provide an economical and simple method for obtaining blue honeysuckle polyphenols and laying a theoretical foundation for its application in the therapeutic intervention against obesity.

Relationship between seismic structures and the diverse rupture processes of the 2023 Türkiye earthquake doublet

Recent geodetic and seismological observations of two major earthquakes in southeastern Türkiye in February 2023 have revealed complex rupture initiation,propagation,and segmentation along the East Anatolian Fault Zone(EAFZ)and surrounding ***,the role of upper crust structures along the EAFZ in determining the diverse rupture processes of this earthquake doublet remains *** further investigate this,we employed double-difference location and seismic tomography techniques to determine high-resolution seismic velocities(V_(P),V_(S))and Poisson’s ratio(σ)structures using a multiparameter joint tomographic *** dataset includes 100,833 high-quality source-receiver travel-time pairs of P-and *** find that the unique rupture processes of this earthquake doublet were primarily influenced by contrasting crustal seismic structures and localized geological *** M_(w)7.8 mainshock was initiated within a transitional edge zone characterized by a rigid part(asperity)of the seismogenic zone with sharp contrast variations in rock strength ranging from low to high along the *** comparison,the M_(w)7.6 rupture originated in a ductile belt featuring fluid saturation with low-VP,low-VS,and high-σvalues that extended parallel to the Cardak *** pronounced contrast structures observed along the former rupture can be attributed to the oblique collision system between the weakened section of the east Anatolian plateau and the brittle Arabian platform,while the latter rupture was initiated within the ductile structure associated with fluid intrusion caused by the northward subduction of the Cyprus slab and subsequent ***,the occurrence of the first earthquake(E1)serves to alleviate shear stress on the second earthquake(E2)fault,potentially impeding the initiation of an E2 *** the contrary,this event also significantly reduces the normal stress acting on the E2 fault due to a double left-lateral strike-slip system

为增加嗜热链球菌QYW-LYS1静息细胞转化生成γ-氨基丁酸(γ-Aminobutyric acid,GABA)的产量,提高转化效率,通过单因素试验及响应面优化,确定嗜热链球菌QYW-LYS1静息细胞的最佳转化条件。单因素实验结果表明当静息细胞浓度为10g/L,初始pH4.4,温度34℃时,GABA产量最高。响应面优化确定嗜热链球菌QYW-LYS1的最佳转化条件为静息细胞浓度12g/L、初始pH4.4、温度34℃,在此条件下嗜热链球菌QYW-LYS1的GABA产量为5.46g/L,转化率达91.41%。结果表明,嗜热链球菌QYW-LYS1具有良好合成GABA能力,通过响应面优化产量显著提高。此外,从单因素实验结果发现,在同等转化反应条件下,反应体系pH变化越大,GABA产量越高,pH变化与细胞谷氨酸脱羧酶(Glutamate decarboxylase,GAD)活力呈正相关。

Numerical study of submerged bending vegetation under unidirectional flow

Submerged vegetation commonly grows and plays a vital role in aquatic ecosystems,but it is also regarded as a barrier to the passing *** simulations of flow through and over submerged vegetation were carried out to investigate the effect of vegetation density on flow *** simulations were computationally set up to replicate flume experiments,in which vegetation was mimicked with flexible plastic *** fluid-structure interaction between flow and flexible vegetation was solved by coupling the two modules of the COMSOL *** cases with different vegetation densities were simulated,and the results were successfully validated against the experimental *** contours of the simulated time-averaged streamwise velocity and Reynolds stress were extracted to highlight the differences in mean and turbulent flow *** turbulence intensity was found to be more sensitive to vegetation density than the time-averaged *** developing length increased with the spacing between *** snapshots of the bending vegetation under instantaneous velocity and vorticity revealed that flexible vegetation responded to the effects of eddies in the shear layer by swaying *** first two rows of vegetation suffered stronger approaching flow and were prone to more streamlined *** addition,the origin of tip vortices was investigated via the distribution of *** results reveal the variation of flow properties with bending submerged vegetation and provide useful reference for optimizationofrestorationprojects.

Terminal attitude selection method of missile attack aircraft

The appropriate terminal attitude of missile is important to improve the damage effectiveness of fragmentation warhead against aircraft *** this paper,three missile terminal attitude selection methods are proposed to solve the problem of terminal attitude selection in different situations according to their respective evaluation *** MVE-based method uses the damage probability of each detonation point around the aircraft at a given attitude of missile to calculate the Mean Volume of Effectiveness(MVE)at the corresponding attitude,and then uses the MVE for different attitudes to select the terminal strike *** detonation position-based method addresses the case where the missile detonation position can be assessed in *** the effects of missile guidance errors and fuze activation position errors,Monte Carlo simulations are used to calculate the damage probability of aircraft with different strike attitudes,from which the terminal strike attitude is *** BP-ANN model-based method uses the constructed Back Propagation Artificial Neural Network(BP-ANN)model instead of simulation to calculate the evaluation indexes in the corresponding cases of MVE-based method and Detonation position-based method,which can improve the efficiency of attitude *** are conducted for different scenarios to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.

Numerical insight into heat transfer enhancement by granules inner-migration in a moving bed:A performance comparison between slanted-stick and plow-shaped agitator

Waste heat recovery of high-temperature granules is one of the most promising sustainable energy supply and carbon reduction ways for industry.A moving bed indirect heat exchanger(MBIHE)with inner-migration was proposed for granular heat *** migration and the enhanced heat transfer induced by two types of agitators(i.e.,agitator with slanted stick A_(s)and with plow-shaped surface A_(p))in the MBIHE are analyzed based on DEM coupled with *** to the effective agitation,the average heat transfer coefficient in the granule side is enhanced to∼3 times compared to that without *** heat recovery efficiency in the moving bed reached more than 70%with the agitations of either A_(s)or A_(p).The heat efficiency of A_(s)is∼7%higher than that of A_(p),but with at least 60%greater rotational *** ensure reliable agitation,the A_(p)is suggested to be adopted in the MBIHE to induce granule migration.
