Adaptive Control of Accumulative Error for Nonlinear Chaotic Systems

We present an adaptive control scheme of accumulative error to stabilize the unstable fixed point for chaotic systems which only satisfies local Lipschitz condition, and discuss how the convergence factor affects the convergence and the characteristics of the final control strength. We define a minimal local Lipschitz coefficient, which can enlarge the condition of chaos control. Compared with other adaptive methods, this control scheme is simple and easy to implement by integral circuits in practice. It is also robust against the effect of noise. These are illustrated with numerical examples.

Complex Modified Projective Synchronization for Fractional-order Chaotic Complex Systems

The aim of this paper is to study complex modified projective synchronization（CMPS） between fractional-order chaotic nonlinear systems with incommensurate orders. Based on the stability theory of incommensurate fractional-order systems and active control method, control laws are derived to achieve CMPS in three situations including fractional-order complex Lorenz system driving fractional-order complex Chen system, fractional-order real Rssler system driving fractional-order complex Chen system, and fractionalorder complex Lorenz system driving fractional-order real Lü system. Numerical simulations confirm the validity and feasibility of the analytical method.

Hydrogen absorption behavior of TA15 alloy

The hydrogen absorption kinetics of TA15 titanium alloy at 973-1123 K was studied using a tube-type hydrogen treatment furnace. The hydrogen absorption kinetic curves obtained were analyzed according to a series of mechanism equations to reveal the kinetic parameters and mechanism of the hydrogen absorption process. The results show that both the hydrogen absorption rate and the equilibrium hydrogen pressure increase and the time to reach equilibrium is shortened with increasing temperature. It is found that only the second hydrogen absorption period exists in the hydrogen absorption process of TA15 alloy between 973 and 1123 K, and the activation energy is 54.889 kJ/mol for hydrogen absorption. X-ray diffraction （XRD） and scanning electron microscopy （SEM） results demonstrate that δ hydride forms between 973 and 1123 K, and β phase decreases with the increase of temperature. Orthorhombic α＂ martensite is generated at 1073-1123 K, and their amount increases with increasing temperature.

Incompressible Surfaces in Almost Alternating Link Exteriors

In this paper, we discuss mainly the properties of incompressible pairwise incomprcssiblc surfaccs in ahnost altcrnating link complcmcnts. Lct L bc a almost link and lct F be an incompressible pairwise incompressible surface in S^3 - L. First, we give the properties that the surface F intersects with 2-spheres in S^3- L. The intersection consisting of a collection of circles and saddle-shaped discs is called a topological graph. One can compute the Euler Characteristic number of the surface by calculating the characteristic number of the graph. Next, we prove that if the graph is special simple, then the genus of the surface is zero.

Bis(7)-Tacrine, a Promising Anti-Alzheimer's Agent,Attenuates Glutamate-Induced Cell Injury in Primary Cultured Cerebrocortical Neurons of Rats

The effects of bis(7) tacrine, a novel dimeric acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor, on glutamate induced cell injury were investigated in primary cerebral cortical neurons of rats. Exposure of cultured neurons (12 days after plating) to 0.5 mmol/L glutamate for 30 min resulted in significant cell damage. Pretreatment with bis(7) tacrine (0.03 1.0 μmol/L) reduced the glutamate induced neurotoxicity in a concentration dependent manner and the maximal response was seen at 1 μmol/L with approximately 30% protection. A receptor binding assay showed that bis(7) tacrine can completely displace MK 801 binding to rat cortical membrane with an IC 50 of 0.57 μmol/L. These findings suggest that bis(7) tacrine can directly interact with N methyl D aspartate receptor channel complex, which may contribute to the inhibitor's protective effects against glutamate induced excitotoxicity. Thus, it is possible that anti glutamate/anti AChE synergism is responsible for potentially better Alzheimer's therapy of bis(7) tacrine relative to tacrine.
