A method was developed to modify silicon surfaces with good protein resistance and specific cell attachment. A silicon surface was initially deposited using a block copolymer of N-vinylpyrrolidone （NVP） and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate （HEMA）（PVP-b-PHEMA） film through surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization and then further immobilized using a short arginine-glycine-aspartate （RGD） peptide. Our results demonstrate that the RGD-modified surfaces （Si-RGD） can suppress non-specific adsorption of proteins and induce the adhesion of L929 cells. The Si-RGD surface exhibited higher cell proliferation rates than the unmodified silicon surface. This research established a simple method for the fabrication of dual-functional silicon surface that combines antifouling and cell attachment promotion.

Clinical Analysis of 29 Cases with Primary Malignant Lymphoma of the Prostate

OBJECTIVE To summarize the clinical characteristics,pathology,treat- ment and prognosis of malignant lymphoma of the prostate. METHODS Clinical data from 29 patients with primary malignant lympho- ma of the prostate were reviewed *** median age was 66 *** signs and symptoms were due to lower urinary tract obstruc- tion resulting from a diffusely enlarged *** biopsies revealed diffuse large B-cel non-Hodgkin's *** therapeutic modalities included prostatectomy,radiotherapy and chemotherapy. RESULTS Extraprostatic involvement at various sites became evident in 19 of the 29 patients after *** patients died from lymphoma with a median survival of 23 months(range,2-30 months).Seven patients were alive up to 60 months. CONCLUSION Malignant lymphoma involving the prostate was rare and has a rather poor *** related to the patient age,histo- logic type,and treatment or clinical stage of the disease at presentation.

Esophageal cancer ranks among the most prevalent malignant tumors globally,primarily due to its highly aggressive nature and poor survival *** to the 2020 global cancer statistics,there were approximately 604000 new cases of esophageal cancer,resulting in 544000 *** 5-year survival rate hovers around a mere 15%-25%.Notably,distinct variations exist in the risk factors associated with the two primary histological types,influencing their worldwide incidence and *** cell carcinoma displays a high incidence in specific regions,such as certain areas in China,where it meets the cost-effect-iveness criteria for widespread endoscopy-based early diagnosis within the local ***,adenocarcinoma(EAC)represents the most common histological subtype of esophageal cancer in Europe and the United *** role of early diagnosis in cases of EAC originating from Barrett's esophagus(BE)remains a subject of *** effectiveness of early detection for EAC,particularly those arising from BE,continues to be a debated *** variations in how early-stage esophageal carcinoma is treated in different regions are largely due to the differing rates of early-stage cancer *** areas with higher incidences,such as China and Japan,early diagnosis is more common,which has led to the advancement of endoscopic methods as definitive *** techniques have demonstrated remarkable efficacy with minimal complications while preserving esophageal *** screening,prompt diagnosis,and timely treatment are key strategies that can significantly lower both the occurrence and death rates associated with esophageal cancer.

The optical microscopy image plays an important role in scientific research through the direct visualization of the nanoworld,where the imaging mechanism is described as the convolution of the point spread function(PSF)and *** on a priori knowledge of the PSF or equivalent PSF,it is possible to achieve more precise exploration of the ***,it is an outstanding challenge to directly extract the PSF from microscopy ***,with the help of self-supervised learning,we propose a physics-informed masked autoencoder(PiMAE)that enables a learnable estimation of the PSF and emitters directly from the raw microscopy *** demonstrate our method in synthetic data and real-world experiments with significant accuracy and noise *** outperforms DeepSTORM and the Richardson–Lucy algorithm in synthetic data tasks with an average improvement of 19.6%and 50.7%(35 tasks),respectively,as measured by the normalized root mean square error(NRMSE)*** is achieved without prior knowledge of the PSF,in contrast to the supervised approach used by DeepSTORM and the known PSF assumption in the Richardson–Lucy *** method,PiMAE,provides a feasible scheme for achieving the hidden imaging mechanism in optical microscopy and has the potential to learn hidden mechanisms in many more systems.

The engineering of the electronic configurations of active sites,together with the production of more accessible active sites through heterostructure design,has been established as a forceful methodology for boosting water electrolysis ***,a facile approach is developed to fabricate well-dispersed MoO_(2) and WO_(2) nanoparticles with abundant heterointerfaces entrapped in N,P-doped carbon nanofibers(referred to as MoO_(2)/WO_(2)@N,P-CNFs hereafter)as hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)electrocatalysts in alkaline and acidic *** spectroscopic analyses and theoretical findings manifest that the heterointerface formed by the work function modulation of MoO_(2)/WO_(2) triggers the spontaneous electron redistribution from MoO_(2)to WO_(2) and a built-in electric field,which is essential to promote water adsorption,optimize the H-intermediate adsorption energy,result in the enhanced charge transfer efficiency,and ultimately increase the intrinsic HER ***,the intimate confinement of MoO_(2)/WO_(2) heterostructures in the porous carbon substrate can restrain the active sites from unfavorable coarsening and detachment,thus ensuring facilitated HER kinetics and outstanding structural *** a result,MoO_(2)/WO_(2)@N,P-CNFs exhibit superior catalytic HER performance in acidic and basic solutions,requiring 118 and 95 mV overpotentials to achieve 10 mA·cm^(−2),respectively,surpassing a number of reported non-noble metal-based *** work provides guidelines for the rational design and construction of special metallic heterocomponents with optimized interfacial electronic structure for various electrochemical technologies.
