EXPRESSION OF A TELOMERASE-ASSOCIATED GENE IN NORMAL, ATROPHIC ,AND TUMOROUS TESTES

Objective To evaluate the expression of telomerase transcriptional elements-interacting factor （TEIF） in human testis under different status and its relation with human telomerase reverse transcriptase （hTERT） expression. Methods Specific antisera against TEIF were generated by immunization of rabbits with purified recombinated partial TEIF. Samples were assigned to three groups according to their pathological types, including 16 normal testes, 8 atrophic testes, and 6 testicular seminomas. They were subjected to immunohistochemical staining of TEIF and hTERT. Results from both TEIF and hTERT were analyzed semi-quantitatively and compared. The expressions of TEIF and hTERT were detected in all samples of normal, atrophic testes, and seminomas. No differences of TEIF expressions among these three groups were observed （P 〉 0.05）. On the contrary, the expressions of hTERT were significantly lower in atrophic testes compared with those of normal testes and seminomas （both P 〈 0.05）. Nevertheless, co-expressions of TEIF with hTERT were revealed to be in normal and malignant cases （P 〈 0.05） but not in atrophic testes, which generally presented TEIF expression. The cellular distributions of both proteins were similar and mainly in spermatocytes and some Sertoli cells, while were all negative in the interstitial cells and other stromal cells. Conclusion The uniform expressions of TEIF in all these specimens suggest that it may be a marker of testis and its related diseases. The strong expression of hTERT in normal testes and testicular seminomas comparing with the low expression in atrophic testes may suggest a role for telomerase in maintaining proliferation of germ cells.

The keen interest in fuel cells and metal-air batteries stimulates a great deal of research on the development of a cost-efficient and high-performance catalyst as an alternative to traditional Pt to boost the sluggish oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)at the ***,we report a facile and scalable strategy for the large-scale preparation of a free-standing and flexible porous atomically dispersed Fe-N-doped carbon microtube(FeSAC/PCMT)*** from its unique structure that greatly facilitates the catalytic kinetics,mass transport,and electron transfer,our FeSAC/PCMT electrode exhibits excellent performance with an ORR potential of 0.942 V at^(-3) mA cm^(-2).When the FeSAC/PCMT sponge was directly used as an oxygen electrode for liquid-state and flexible solid-state zinc-air batteries,high peak power densities of 183.1 and 58.0 mW cm^(-2) were respectively achieved,better than its powdery counterpart and commercial Pt/C *** and theoretical investigation results demonstrate that such ultrahigh ORR performance can be attributed to atomically dispersed Fe-N_(5) species in FeSAC/*** study presents a cost-effective and scalable strategy for the fabrication of highly efficient and flexible oxygen electrodes,provides a significant new insight into the catalytic mechanisms,and helps to realize significant advances in energy devices.

夏枯草是一种多年生药食两用植物,具有丰富的抗氧化活性物质。该文研究了夏枯草水提取物乙酸乙酯和正丁醇萃取部位以及萃取剩余部位总黄酮,总酚酸,总三萜和总多糖含量以及它们的抗氧化能力(FRAP,DPPH和ABTS+方法),并通过多元统计方法分析夏枯草多重药效物质与其抗氧化活性关系。结果表明,乙酸乙酯萃取部位具有相对较高含量的总黄酮、总酚酸和总三萜,分别为(0.61±0.10),(0.52±0.09),(0.21±0.03) g·g^-1DW;同时,具有较高的清除DPPH和铁还原能力,分别为(3.1±0.38),(2.56±0.35) mmol·L^-1·g^-1DW。层次聚类分析和主成分分析的结果表明,这些化学成分与其抗氧化能力的综合信息可以代表不同部位的"差异性"。典型相关分析结果表明,夏枯草提取物多重药效物质与其抗氧化能力之间有较强的正相关性。其中,第一典型相关系数达到0.970 0。此外,ABTS+方法对不同部位的药效物质响应较低,可能不适合于夏枯草得抗氧化活性评价,而总三萜和总酚酸更适合于DPPH的评价方法,该研究结果对夏枯草在食品或药品领域抗氧化活性的评价方式以及相关提取物的开发研究部具有重要的参考意义。

This paper describes the data release of the LAMOST pilot survey, which includes data reduction, calibration, spectral analysis, data products and data access. The accuracy of the released data and the information about the FITS headers of spectra are also introduced. The released data set includes 319 000 spectra and a catalog of these objects.
