In this article the hard-sphere Discrete Particle Model （DPM） is used to study the mixing behavior of particles in the 2-D fluidized bed. Different flow patterns in the bed for two kinds of inlet configurations, namely free bubbling and jet bubbling mode, are captured by the numerical model, under specific superficial gas velocities. To examine the degree of particle mixing, the Fan index is applied. The numerical results show that the rate of particle mixing is larger in the jet bubbling than that in the free bubbling mode. The gross circulations of particles in the jet bubbling bed give a higher degree of mixing because of the involvement of a greater number of particles.

A new resistless etching method has been de-veloped for Silicon wafers. This new method uses an aqueous solution consisting of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and hydro-gen fluoride (HF) as the activating etchants. A 193.nm ArF excimer laser and a 266 nm fourth harmonic generation Nd:YAG laser were used as the photon sources. Results showed that pattern etching has been achieved without any photoresist film. In the case of the 193.nm laser, the optimal etching appeared at a 1.3.H2O2/HF ratio, where an etchdepth of 210 nm was achieved with a fluence of 29 mJ/cm2 and shot number of 10000. At the same conditions, the etch depth with H2O2 and HF solution was three times of that by using H2O and HF mixture. In the case of the 266 nm Nd : YAG laser, the optimal etching appeared at twice ratio of H2O2/HF, where the etch depth of 420 nm was achieved witha fluence of 12 mJ/cm2 and shot number of 3.000. Results showed that the etch effect of the 266 nm Nd : YAG laser was more desirable than that of the 193.nm ArF

In large scale motions of circulations in coastal seas and shallow-water problems, different characteristics of flow in the horizontal plane and in the vertical direction are expected. A new large eddy simulation model was proposed. There are some differences between the present method and the other LES models. The philosophy of the large eddy simulation and the directional eddy viscosity method were applied in the horizontal plane and in the vertical direction, respectively. Compared with the other LES models in which there is no difference between horizontal viscosity and vertical viscosity, the proposed method is reasonable.
