A systematic review of the inequality of health burdens related to climate change

Climate change significantly impacts human health,exacerbating existing health inequalities and creating new ones.This study addresses the lack of systematic review in this area by analyzing 2440 publications,focusing on four key terms:health,disparities,environmental factors,and climate change.Strict inclusion criteria limited the selection to English-language,peer-reviewed articles related to climate health hazards,ensuring the relevance and rigor of the synthesized studies.This process synthesized 65 relevant studies.Our investigation revealed that recent research,predominantly from developed countries,has broadened its scope beyond temperature-related impacts to encompass diverse climate hazards,including droughts,extreme weather,floods,mental health issues,and the intersecting effects of Coronavirus Disease 2019.Research has highlighted exposure as the most studied element in the causal chain of climate change-related health inequalities,followed by adaptive capability and inherent sensitivity.The most significant vulnerabilities were observed among populations with low socioeconomic status,ethnic minorities,and women.The study further reveals research biases and methodological limitations,such as the paucity of attention to underdeveloped regions,a narrow focus on non-temperature-related hazards,challenges in attributing climate change effects,and a deficit of large-scale empirical studies.The findings call for more innovative research approaches and a holistic integration of physical,socio-political,and economic dimensions to enrich climate-health discourse and inform equitable policy-making.

The Docking of Talent Training Strategies and Job Market in Higher Vocational Colleges Under the Background of Slow and Difficult Employment

Students in higher vocational colleges are faced with difficult problems such as slow employment,which highlights the dislocation between education and the market.This study surveyed thousands of students and hundreds of enterprises,and put forward docking strategies.The analysis shows that the mismatch between skills adaptation and literacy is the main cause of slow employment.To this end,research and design training programs,including curriculum restructuring,school-enterprise cooperation practice platforms,and employment-oriented quality improvement plans are imperative.At the same time,we will develop teaching modules for career planning to enhance competitiveness and ensure that the content is synchronized with industry standards.After the implementation,the employment rate of students increased by 15%within six months,the degree of interconnection increased by 20%,and the degree of enterprise recognition increased by 25%.The research effectively promotes the docking of higher vocational education with the market,and has far-reaching significance for easing slow employment.

Study on Path Selection and Implementation Effect of Counselors in College Students’Career Planning Education

Under the background of a severe job market and fierce talent competition,the career planning education of college students is of great importance.In this study,a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods was used;500 students in Shenzhen Polytechnic of Information Technology were surveyed by questionnaire,and 40 counselors were interviewed in depth to comprehensively analyze the role and practical effect of counselors in career planning education.The research showed that the role positioning of counselors includes the guide of students’career development,emotional support,and job-hunting strategy,and the specific path selection involves the strengthening of professional knowledge,the construction of interpersonal relationship networks,and personalized counseling.Based on the survey and interview data,this paper constructed a model for enhancing the role of counselors in career planning education and put forward a set of targeted work paths.

At high temperature,the chemical reaction mechanism at the interface of magnetite and the influence mechanism of gangue element Al on the oxidation performance of magnetite are not clear.In addition,due to the limitation of existing experimental equipment,it is difficult to clarify the interface reaction mechanism in the oxidation process and the influence mechanism of Al on the surface oxidation reaction of Fe_(3)O_(4) at an atomic scale at high temperature.The surface oxidation reaction mechanism of magnetite and the influence mechanism of Al on the oxidation of magnetite were studied by experiments and AIMD(ab initio molecular dynamics).The experimental results show that the existence of Al_(2)O_(3) will reduce the initial oxidation temperature and comprehensive oxidation performance of magnetite.The AIMD results show that aluminum can accelerate the interface reaction rate of Fe_(3)O_(4) in the high-temperature oxidation atmosphere,but the strong Al-O binding ability is not conducive to the transfer of O atoms in the oxidation process.

Cold plasma-activated Cu-Co catalysts with CN vacancies for enhancing CO_(2)electroreduction to low-carbon alcohol

Electrocatalytic CO_(2)reduction reaction to low-carbon alcohol is a challenging task,especially high selectivity for ethanol,which is mainly limited by the regulation of reaction intermediates and subsequent C–C coupling.A Cu-Co bimetallic catalyst with CN vacancies is successfully developed by H_(2)cold plasma toward a high-efficiency CO_(2)RR into low-carbon alcohol.The Cu-Co PBA-V_(CN)(Prussian blue analogues with CN vacancies)electrocatalyst yields methanol and ethanol as major products with a total low-carbon alcohol FE of 83.8%(methanol:39.2%,ethanol:44.6%)at-0.9 V vs.RHE,excellent durability(100 h)and a small onset potential of-0.21 V.ATR-SEIRAS(attenuated total internal reflection surface enhanced infrared absorption spectroscopy)and DFT(density functional theory)reveal that the steric hindrance of V_(CN)can enhance the CO generation from*COOH,and the C–C coupling can also be increased by CO spillover on uniformly dispersed Cu atoms.This work provides a strategy for the design and preparation of electrocatalysts for CO_(2)RR into low-carbon alcohol products and highlights the impact of catalyst steric hindrance to catalytic performance.

A bi-population immune algorithm for weapon transportation support scheduling problem with pickup and delivery on aircraft carrier deck

The weapon transportation support scheduling problem on aircraft carrier deck is the key to restricting the sortie rate and combat capability of carrier-based aircraft.This paper studies the problem and presents a novel solution architecture.Taking the interference of the carrier-based aircraft deck layout on the weapon transportation route and precedence constraint into consideration,a mixed integer formulation is established to minimize the total objective,which is constituted of makespan,load variance and accumulative transfer time of support unit.Solution approach is developed for the model.Firstly,based on modeling the carrier aircraft parked on deck as convex obstacles,the path library of weapon transportation is constructed through visibility graph and Warshall-Floyd methods.We then propose a bi-population immune algorithm in which a population-based forward/backward scheduling technique,local search schemes and a chaotic catastrophe operator are embedded.Besides,the randomkey solution representation and serial scheduling generation scheme are adopted to conveniently obtain a better solution.The Taguchi method is additionally employed to determine key parameters of the algorithm.Finally,on a set of generated realistic instances,we demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms all compared algorithms designed for similar optimization problems and can significantly improve the efficiency,and that the established model and the bi-population immune algorithm can effectively respond to the weapon support requirements of carrier-based aircraft under different sortie missions.

Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with,or resembling that associated with,actual or potential tissue damage.The processing of pain involves complicated modulation at the levels of the periphery,spinal cord,and brain.The pathogenesis of chronic pain is still not fully understood,which makes the clinical treatment challenging.Optogenetics,which combines optical and genetic technologies,can precisely intervene in the activity of specific groups of neurons and elements of the related circuits.Taking advantage of optogenetics,researchers have achieved a body of new findings that shed light on the cellular and circuit mechanisms of pain transmission,pain modulation,and chronic pain both in the periphery and the central nervous system.In this review,we summarize recent findings in pain research using optogenetic approaches and discuss their significance in understanding the pathogenesis of chronic pain.

Polymerization of pyrrole induced by pillar[5]arene functionalized graphene for supercapacitor electrode

Conducting polymer is an important electrode material for supercapacitors because of its high initial specific capacitance.Herein,a novel nanocomposite composed of polypyrrole(PPy)film homogeneously immobilized on the pillar[5]arene functionalized reduced graphene oxide nanosheets(RGO-HP5 A-PPy)was successfully prepared.RGO-HP5 A induced pyrrole to polymerize on the graphene surface and the specific capacitance loss caused by PPy agglomeration was avoided.Noticeably,the specific capacitance of RGOHP5 A-PPy was up to 495 F/g at 1 A/g.Compared with pure PPy(319 F/g),the specific capacitance was increased by 55%.The specific capacitance retention of the assembled symmetric supercapacitor reached76%after 10,000 cycles at 5 A/g.This study gave full play to the advantages of pillar[5]arene,graphene and PPy,and was expected to promote the development of supramolecular functionalized composites in energy storage.

Clinical and immune response characteristics among vaccinated persons infected with SARS-CoV-2 delta variant:a retrospective study

Objective:This study aimed to observe the clinical and immune response characteristics of vaccinated persons infected with the delta variant of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)in Yangzhou,China.Methods:We extracted the medical data of 129 patients with delta-variant infection who were admitted to Northern Jiangsu People’s Hospital(Yangzhou,China)between August and September,2021.The patients were grouped according to the number of vaccine doses received into an unvaccinated group:a one-dose group and a two-dose group.The vaccine used was SARS-CoV-2-inactivated vaccine developed by Sinovac.We retrospectively analyzed the patients’epidemiological,clinical,laboratory,and imaging data.Results:Almost all patients with delta-variant infection in Yangzhou were elderly,and patients with severe/critical illness were over 70 years of age.The rates of severe/critical illness(P=0.006),fever(P=0.025),and dyspnea(P=0.045)were lower in the two-dose group than in the unvaccinated group.Compared to the unvaccinated group,the two-dose group showed significantly higher lymphocyte counts and significantly lower levels of C-reactive protein(CRP),interleukin-6(IL-6),and D-dimer during hospitalization and a significantly higher positive rate of immunoglobulin G(IgG)antibodies at admission(all P<0.05).The cumulative probabilities of hospital discharge and negative virus conversion were also higher in the two-dose group than in the unvaccinated group(P<0.05).Conclusions:Two doses of the SARS-CoV-2-inactivated vaccine were highly effective at limiting symptomatic disease and reducing immune response,while a single dose did not seem to be effective.
