Manipulator-based autonomous inspections at road checkpoints:Application of faster YOLO for detecting large objects

With the increasing number of vehicles,manual security inspections are becoming more laborious at road *** address it,a specialized Road Checkpoints Robot(RCRo)system is proposed,incorporated with enhanced You Only Look Once(YOLO)and a 6-degree-of-freedom(DOF)manipulator,for autonomous identity verification and vehicle *** modified YOLO is characterized by large objects’sensitivity and faster detection speed,named“LF-YOLO”.The better sensitivity of large objects and the faster detection speed are achieved by means of the Dense module-based backbone network connecting two-scale detecting network,for object detection tasks,along with optimized anchor boxes and improved loss *** the manipulator motion,Octree-aided motion control scheme is adopted for collision-free motion through Robot Operating System(ROS).The proposed LF-YOLO which utilizes continuous optimization strategy and residual technique provides a promising detector design,which has been found to be more effective during actual object detection,in terms of decreased average detection time by 68.25%and 60.60%,and increased average Intersection over Union(Io U)by 20.74%and6.79%compared to YOLOv3 and YOLOv4 through *** comprehensive functional tests of RCRo system demonstrate the feasibility and competency of the multiple unmanned inspections in practice.

Dear Editor,We report a rare case of endogenous endophthalmitis caused by Candida albicans in a patient with chronic renal failure concomitant hemodialysis.A 71-year-old man with a history of hypertension and 2-year chronic renal failure on hemodialysis via a native arteriovenous fistula(AVF)was presented to the local hospital due to fever 3wk *** pathogens were detected through blood culture on admission,and his fever gradually subsided with intravenous ceftriaxone *** a week of fever,he experienced progressive blurred vision in both eyes,accompanied by pain and *** magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)of the brain revealed *** had not undergone any previous eye surgeries or trauma.

Therapeutic role of endoscopic ultrasound in pancreaticobiliary disease: A comprehensive review

With the development of technology and accessories,the role of endoscopic ultrasound(EUS) has evolved from diagnostics to therapeutics. In order to characterise the therapeutic role of EUS,we searched Web of Knowledge database and reviewed articles associated with therapeutic EUS. There are two modalities for the therapeutic purpose: drainage and fine-needle injection. EUS-guided drainage is a promising procedure for the treatment of peripancreatic fluid collection and biliary obstruction; EUS-guided fine-needle injections such as celiac plexus neurolysis,for the purpose of pain relief for pancreatic cancer and chronic pancreatitis,has emerged as a promising procedure. The aim of the study was to perform a comprehensive and conscientious review on the techniques,complications and clinical outcomes of those EUS-based procedures.

Influences of shale microstructure on mechanical properties and bedding fractures distribution

The difference in microstructure leads to the diversity of shale mechanical properties and bedding fractures distribution *** this paper,the microstructure and mechanical properties of Longmaxi marine shale and Qingshankou continental shale were studied by X-ray diffractometer(XRD),field emission scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM)with mineral analysis system,and ***,the typical bedding layers area was properly stratified using Focused Ion Beam(FIB),and the effects of microstructure and mechanical properties on the distribution patterns of bedding fractures were *** results show that the Longmaxi marine shale sample contains more clay mineral grains,while the Qingshankou continental shale sample contains more hard brittle mineral grains such as *** Longmaxi marine shale sample,hard brittle minerals with grain sizes larger than 20μm is18.24%and those with grain sizes smaller than 20μm is 16.22%.For Qingshankou continental shale sample,hard brittle minerals with grain sizes larger than 20μm is 40.7%and those with grain sizes smaller than 20μm is 11.82%.In comparison to the Qingshankou continental shale sample,the Longmaxi marine shale sample has a lower modulus,hardness,and *** shales are formed by alternating coarse-grained and fine-grained layers during *** average single-layer thickness of Longmaxi marine shale sample is greater than Qingshankou continental shale *** two types of shale have similar bedding fractures distribution patterns and fractures tend to occur in the transition zone from coarse-grained to fine-grained *** orientation of the fracture is usually parallel to the bedding plane and detour occurs in the presence of hard brittle *** fracture distribution density of the Longmaxi marine shale sample is lower than that of the Qingshankou continental shale sample due to the strong heterogeneity of the Qingshankou continental *** current resea

Tandem electrocatalysis for CO2 reduction to multi-carbons

The rising CO2concentration in the atmosphere due to extensive use of fossil fuels has led to serious climate and environmental issues. One efficient solution is that CO2capture from industrial emissions followed its conversion into value-added chemicals driven by renewable energies. CO2electroreduction（CO2RR） features a green and sustainable fashion towards effective CO2conversion, but still suffers from low multi-carbon selectivity and yield. Considering the pivotal role of CO intermediate in C–C coupling to multi-carbon formation, tandem CO2RR systems with separated CO generation and consumption components could facilitate the coupling between *CO-based intermediates to energy-intensive multi-carbons by manipulating CO diffusion and surface coverage. In this aspect, we comprehensively reviewed the design principles of tandem systems for CO2electroreduction reaction. The chemistry behind the C–C coupling regarding to their distribution and diffusion was initially introduced, which was followed by achievements on tandem architectures, from catalysts, electrodes to systems. Future directions and perspectives on advanced tandem system designs for CO2RR were discussed at the end. This review contributes to the understanding of structureperformance correlations in tandem catalysis and helps guide the effective collection of multi-carbons of high-yield and highselectivity.
