Viral encephalitis continues to be a significant public health *** our previous study,we discovered a lower expression of antiviral factors,such as IFN-β,STING and IFI16,in the brain tissues of patients with Rasmussen's encephalitis(RE),a rare chronic neurological disorder often occurred in children,characterized by unihemispheric brain ***,a higher cumulative viral score of human herpes viruses(HHVs)was also found to have a significant positive correlation with the unihemispheric atrophy in *** I IFNs(IFN-I)signaling is essential for innate anti-infection response by binding to IFN-α/βreceptor(IFNAR).In this study,we infected WT mice and IFNAR-deficient A6 mice with herpes simplex virus 1(HSV-1)via periocular injection to investigate the relationship between IFN-I signaling and HHVs-induced brain *** all mice exhibited typical viral encephalitis lesions in their brains,HSV-induced epilepsy was only observed in A6 *** gene expression matrix,functional enrichment analysis and protein-protein interaction network revealed four gene models that were positively related with HSV-induced ***,ten key genes with the highest scores were *** together,these findings indicate that intact IFN-I signaling can effectively limit HHVs induced neural symptoms and brain lesions,thereby confirming the positive correlation between IFN-I signaling repression and brain atrophy in RE and other HHVs encephalitis.

Skin-attachable electronics have garnered considerable research attention in health monitoring and artificial intelligence domains,whereas susceptibility to elec-tromagnetic interference(EMI),heat accumulation issues,and ultraviolet(UV)-induced aging problems pose significant constraints on their potential ***,an ultra-elas-tic,highly breathable,and thermal-comfortable epidermal sensor with exceptional UV-EMI shielding performance and remarkable thermal conductivity is developed for high-fidelity monitoring of multiple human electrophysiological *** filling the elastomeric microfibers with thermally conductive boron nitride nanoparticles and bridging the insulating fiber interfaces by plating Ag nanoparticles(NPs),an interwoven thermal con-ducting fiber network(0.72 W m^(-1) K^(-1))is constructed benefiting from the seamless thermal interfaces,facilitating unimpeded heat dissipation for comfort skin *** excitingly,the elastomeric fiber substrates simultaneously achieve outstanding UV protection(UPF=143.1)and EMI shielding(SET>65,X-band)capabilities owing to the high electrical conductivity and surface plasmon resonance of Ag ***,an electronic textile prepared by printing liquid metal on the UV-EMI shielding and thermally conductive nonwoven textile is finally utilized as an advanced epidermal sensor,which succeeds in monitoring different electrophysiological signals under vigorous electromagnetic *** research paves the way for developing protective and environmentally adaptive epidermal electronics for next-generation health regulation.

The characteristics of sound radiation from a cylindrical shell coated with multiple compliant layers

The effect of multiple compliant layers on sound radiation from a finite cylindrical shell immersed in an infinite acoustic medium is studied. The transfer matrix is derived according to the continuous boundary conditions at each adjacent interface of the multi-layer system. With the shell theory and the acoustic wave equation, the theoretical model is developed to estimate the characteristics of sound radiation. The numerical calculation results show that the amount of the acoustic radiation power reduction increases as the wave speed or the density of the compliant layer decreases, and using multi-layer system could be more effective on noise reduction than the corresponding uniform single layer.

Acoustic scattering from fluid-filled finite cylindrical shell in water:Ⅱ.Experiment

Acoustic scattering from the submerged fluid-filled finite cylindrical shell insonified by an incident plane wave is studied experimentally and theoretically. A monostic broadband transducer with the sharp directivity is used in the experiment. The broadband LFM signal and the single-frequency narrow pulse are used to measure the backscattering field of the cylindrical shell. The measured results have a good agreement with the theory both in time and frequency domain. The theoretical and experimental results show that the resonances of several additional waves which are caused by the internal fluid are presented in the frequency domain. And a series of ＇whispering gallery＇ waves produced by the waves reflected back and forth in the internal fluid filled in the cylindrical shell are added. The reason for the clustering of the bowl-shape resonance curves in the frequency-angle spectrum is explained as the superposition of the first several modes of ＇whispering gallery＇ waves.

Acoustic scattering from a submerged fluid-filled finite cylindrical shell insonified by an incident plane wave was studied. The analytic solutions of the scattering field are derived using the elastic thin shell theory with the boundary conditions. The fluid-filled impedance, due to the effect of internal fluid, must add to the impedance of the system. The results show that in the backscattering field, rigid scattering has a large contribution only on the broadside and elastic scattering play a major role when oblique incidence. The dispersion curves of the phase velocity show that comparing with the internal vacuum condition, except the contribution by longitudinal wave and shear wave near the broadside a series of the additional waves caused by the internal fluid is added which have great contribution to the scattering field. Bowl- shape resonance curves are presented in the frequency-angle spectrum as the contribution of the internal fluid waves.

Resonance scattering of canonical elastic shells in absorbing fluid medium

Resonance scattering of elastic spherical shell and cylindrical shell while the surrounding fluid medium has absorption is studied. The normal mode solution derived using exact elastic theory and the separation of variables is still applicable. However, the scattering form function has to be modified for the absorbing medium, otherwise the unreasonable result would be obtained. The backscattering form function in the absorbing medium is redefined, and the form function of elastic spherical and cylindrical shell with vacuum or solid matter filled is calculated in various absorption conditions. The results show that the absorption of surrounding fluid leads to notable attenuation of the coincidence resonances in the mid-frequency, but it has a little influence on the low-frequency resonance scattering induced by the filler inside the shell.

Antidepressant effects of Peiyuan Jieyu formula in a mouse model of chronic stress in conjunction with lipopolysaccharide-induced depression

Objective:To explore the mechanism of the Peiyuan Jieyu formula in treating depression by assessing its impact on a lipopolysaccharide-induced(LPS-induced)depression mouse ***:We created a mouse model of depression by exposing mice that had previously received chronic stress to intraperitoneal LPS *** mice were divided into the following groups:control,model,fluoxetine,Tiansi Yin,Sini powder,and low-,medium-,and high-dose Peiyuan Jieyu formula *** swim and tail suspension tests were used to assess the efficacy of the depression(despair)model,and weight gain rates were also ***,serum levels of various depression and inflammation-associated molecules,including tumor necrosis factor-a(TNF-a),interferon-γ(IFN-γ),tryptophan,5-hydroxytryptamine,kynurenine(KYN),and kynurenic acid(KA)were ***,the expression levels of ionic calcium-binding adaptor molecule-1(IBA-1)and indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase(IDO)mRNA in hippocampal microglia were ***:The model group displayed greater despair-associated immobility,which was shortened in response to various doses of Peiyuan Jieyu ***,formula administration significantly reduced serum TNF-a levels and hippocampal IDO mRNA *** high formula dose also reduced IFN-γand IBA-1 levels,the latter was also decreased in response to the medium formula ***,the low formula dose reduced serum KYN level and KYN/tryptophan(TRP)and KYN/KA ***:The Peiyuan Jieyu formula holds immense potential in treating depression in a mouse model,potentially inhibiting inflammation and improving TRP-KYN metabolic disorders.

First application of 3D design custom-made uncemented prosthetic stem for distal femoral cemented megaprosthesis revision

Objectives:3D design,which is widely used in orthopedics,can be applied for precise distal femoral megaprosthetic *** research aimed to present and evaluate the design,perioperative management,and midterm clinical outcomes of a 3D design custom-made uncemented prosthetic ***:Between January 2014 and January 2016,seven patients received 3D design custom-made uncemented prosthetic stem revision at our *** records and radiographs were evaluated ***:There were no hardware-related complications during the follow-up(average 24.3 months;range 24–48 months).The average Musculoskeletal Tumor Society(MSTS)score at the last follow-up after revision(27.7 points,range 25–28 points)was significantly higher than that before(16.0 points,range 13–18 points).In addition,the range of motion(ROM)of the affected knee,and the scores of pain,function,emotional acceptance,support,walking and gait all improved *** antecurvature radian of the revision stem averaged at 3.6°.Of the seven patients,three received femoral stem revision and four received revision of the femoral stem and the femoral component;three of them used longer prostheses than the *** were no significant differences in function between these two groups at the last follow-up after ***:The 3D design custom-made prosthesis is a typical precision medicine technology in oncologic *** by its individually and precisely designed uncemented stem,it offers an alternative option for distal femoral cemented prosthesis *** the 3D design itself,the perioperative management,especially the techniques for stem implantation,and long-term follow-up are also crucial.

Background, Motivation and Objective In the last decade, many works have been devoted to the study of the propagation of elastic waves in periodic composites, or phononic crystals, by analogy with the photonic crystals for electromagnetic waves. Most works have focused on the phenomenon and characteristics of phononic band gaps, where elastic waves are forbidden. The frequency ranges between phononic band gaps are the pass bands, where elastic waves can propagate with no attenuation. Phononic crystals controlled by the Bragg scattering mechanism always generate band gaps with the lowest normalized frequency ωa/2πc≈ 1, where a is the lattice constant and c is the wave velocity. Liu et al advanced the locally resonant band gap mechanism in their pioneering research on three-dimensional phononic crystals consisting of cubic arrays of coated spheres immersed in an epoxy matrix. The piezoelectric shunting technique was first introduced by Forward who used piezoelectric elements with inductive shunts to significantly reduce the mechanical response of a membrane mirror. More recently, negative capacitive shunt networks have received much attention. One advantage of a negative capacitive shunt circuit is the ability to suppress multimode structural vibrations. Therefore, the idea introducing the negative capacitive technique into the band gap control of phononic crystal is attractive. The goal of this research is to analyze the tune ability of the band gaps of phononic piezoelectric beam with periodic arrays of negative capacitive shunt networks. Statement of Contribution/Methods Firstly, with the influence of negative capacitance connected in series and parallel with piezoelectric shunt, the tune ability of the shunt networks is analyzed. Secondly, using the transfer matrix method, we calculated the frequency range and attenuation property of phononic piezoelectric beams.
