AIM：To describe the prevalence and changes in treatment patterns of ranibizumab and photodynamic therapy（PDT） among retinal disease patients who attended the Ophthalmology Clinic in the tertiary care Hospital Selayang from 2010 to ***：Study subjects were recruited retrospectively using the Electronic Medical Record（EMR） database software in Hospital *** data,medical history,diagnostic procedure,treatments and diagnosis of patients were ***：The five-year analysis included 821 patients with a mean age of 65.9±11.73 ***,there were a highernumber of males（63.1%） and a higher number of Chinese（47.4%） *** the 821 patients,62.9% received ranibizumab injection followed by 19.2% PDT therapy and 17.9% had ranibizumab combined with PDT ***-related macular degeneration（AMD） and polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy（PCV） were the most common retinal eye diseases reported,recording prevalence of 25.0% and 45.6%,*** trend in ranibizumab treatment was reported to increase while PDT showed a decrease in trend from year 2010 to *** terms of treatment,following multiple logistic regression,AMD was associated with the subjects being more likely to have received ranibizumab monotherapy（P〈0.001） while PCV was associated with more likely to have received PDT（P〈0.001） and PDT combined with ranibizumab therapy（P〈0.001）.CONCLUSION：The tertiary care setting in Malaysia is consistent with management of patients from other countries whereby ranibizumab is the most common treatment given to patients with AMD,while PCV patients most commonly receive PDT and ranibizumab combined with PDT therapy.

Astronomical Knowledge Entity Extraction in Astrophysics Journal Articles via Large Language Models

Astronomical knowledge entities,such as celestial object identifiers,are crucial for literature retrieval and knowledge graph construction,and other research and applications in the field of *** methods of extracting knowledge entities from texts face numerous challenging obstacles that are difficult to ***,there is a pressing need for improved methods to efficiently extract *** study explores the potential of pre-trained Large Language Models(LLMs)to perform astronomical knowledge entity extraction(kee)task from astrophysical journal articles using *** propose a prompting strategy called Promptkee,which includes five prompt elements,and design eight combination prompts based on *** select four representative LLMs(Llama-2-70B,GPT-3.5,GPT-4,and Claude 2)and attempt to extract the most typical astronomical knowledge entities,celestial object identifiers and telescope names,from astronomical journal articles using these eight combination *** accommodate their token limitations,we construct two data sets:the full texts and paragraph collections of 30 *** the eight prompts,we test on full texts with GPT-4and Claude 2,on paragraph collections with all *** experimental results demonstrate that pre-trained LLMs show significant potential in performing kee tasks,but their performance varies on the two data ***,we analyze some important factors that influence the performance of LLMs in entity extraction and provide insights for future kee tasks in astrophysical articles using ***,compared to other methods of kee,LLMs exhibit strong competitiveness in multiple aspects.

A Method for Calculating the Heats of Formation of Medium-Sized and Large-Sized Molecules

A calculation method for heats of formation (HOF, referred to as △Hf) based on the density functional theory (DFT) is presented in this work. Similar to Gaussian-3 theory, the atomic scheme is applied to calculate the heats of formation of the molecules. In this method, we have modified the formula for calculation of Gaussian-3 theory in several ways, including the correction for diffuse functions and the correction for higher polarization functions. These corrections are found to be significant. The average absolute deviation from experiment for the 164 calculated heats of formation is about 1.9 kcal·mol?1, while average absolute deviation from G3MP2 for the 149 (among the 164 molecules, 15 large-sized molecules can not be calculated at the G3MP2 level) calculated heats of formation is only about 1.9 kcal·mol?1. It indicates that the present method can be applied to predict the heats of formation of medium-sized and large-sized molecules, while the heats of formation of these molecules using Gaussian-3 theory are much difficult, even impossible, to calculate. That is, this method provides a choice in the calculation of △Hf for medium-sized and large-sized molecules.

Efficacy of Simple Assessment System of Oocyte Maturity in IVF-ET Cycles

Objective To establish and evaluate the efficacy of the simple assessment system of oocyte maturity. Methods A total of 251 couples were enrolled in this study and female patients were divided into two groups. In group Ⅰ, oocytes were inseminated at 6 h after ovum pick-up. In group Ⅱ, oocyte maturity was rapidly categorized by simple assessment system. Mature oocytes were inseminated at 3-4 h after ovum pick-up when oocyte-corona complexes （OCC） exhibited clear thick ring-like halo （RLH） and expanded cumulus cells （CC） or 5-6 h when OCC exhibited RLH and a few clumped and/or dark CC, respectively. Intermediate oocytes were inseminated at 7-8 h when RLH was not found around the OCC and CC were compacted and clumped and/or dark. Results Normal fertilization rate was higher in group Ⅱ （76.5%） than that in group Ⅰ （58.0%）（P〈0.001）. However, abnormal fertilization rate was higher in group Ⅰ（11.3%） than that in group 11 （3.6%）（P〈0.001）. The cleavage （82.6% vs 90.0%）, chemical pregnancy （4. 8% vs 3.9%）, twin pregnancy （6. 7% vs 3.9%） and implantation rate （8.4% vs 10.6%） had no statistically differences between group I and Ⅱ. Rate of clinical and singleton pregnancy was higher in groupⅡ （35.3% and 31.4%） than those in group Ⅰ （24.8% and 18.2%）（P〈0.05）. Conclusion This simple assessment system is useful and effective for evaluation and categorization of the oocyte maturity with better reproductive outcomes.

Chest wall metastasis from unknown primary site of hepatocellular carcinoma

Previous reports of a solitary metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma have been rare. Because this tumor has a different treatment modality and prognosis, an accurate differential diagnosis is essential. Here we report a rare case of a solitary chest wall metastasis from unknown primary site of hepatocellular carcinoma. It involves a 51-year-old man who was admitted to our hospital because of a palpable left upper chest wall mass. The mass was resected and pathologic examination confirmed a diagnosis of metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma. Despite our investigation, no evidence was found that indicated the primary origin of the hepatocellular carcinoma. Four months later, the patient was admitted again because of spinal cord compression at the third and fourth thoracic vertebrae. Emergent decompressive laminectomy was performed and microscopic features revealed the same pathology as the initial chest wall mass resected 4 months earlier. After one year, a follow-up abdominal computed tomography （CT） still revealed no evidence of primary hepatocellular carcinoma.

汗液是一种可无创测量的分析物,其pH值可作为诊断和监测各种生理状况的重要指标。表面增强拉曼散射技术(SERS)是一种快速、灵敏、无创、无标记的分析检测技术,但存在因信号波动导致的稳定性差等问题。该文通过制备一种内标型花瓣状间隙增强拉曼标签(PGERT)纳米颗粒并构建pH传感器,实现了对人体汗液中pH值的精确实时分析。该传感器通过在间隙结构内部修饰4-巯基苯甲氰(4-MBN)分子获得内标拉曼信号,并基于外部花瓣状壳层表面修饰pH传感分子4-巯基苯甲酸(4-MBA)获得增强的探针信号,显著提高了检测稳定性和灵敏度。该研究先使用原位分析池建立了pH 5.0~8.0条件下的标准分析曲线,相关系数(r2)高达0.99。该传感器对4种不同pH值汗液(pH 5.0~7.0)的检测结果与标准pH计测试结果的误差率分别为(2.17±5.0)%、(4.62±1.1)%、(5.80±0.3)%、(3.68±1.0)%。结果表明,基于该内标型花瓣状间隙纳米拉曼标签的传感器可用于人体汗液的pH值监测,并具有高灵敏度、高稳定性以及分析精确的优点。
