Analysis of particle dispersion and cavity formation during bulk particle water entry using fully coupled CFD-DEM-VOF approach

This review attempts to delineate the effects and roles of fermented foods on allergic responses(AR),specifically from milk,plant,and meat *** for AR alleviation and aggravation were noted for many different fermented food *** outcomes on AR through fermented foods could be linked to microbial hydrolysis of food allergens,improvement in gut microbiota robustness,and modulation of the immune system that promotes a balance between T helper 1(Th1)and Th2 *** on plant-based,non-protein rich fermented foods tend to show more favourable results compared to those on meat-based or protein-rich *** usage of specific and known starter cultures are helpful in alleviating AR,as in the case for many yogurt,Kefir or Dahi *** fermentation time was also deemed important,exemplified in studies that showed inefficient AR reduction through consumption of fresh ***,formation of new allergens through fermentation of certain meat-based foods,or by using specific fermenting microbes(*** sp.),is ***,combination of starter cultures and food substrates must be considered in preventing or eliminating AR from intake of these *** review may aid consumers to make informed decision during the consumption of fermented food.

In current study,the influence of magnetic field(MHD)on heat transfer of natural convection boundary layer flow in Casson ternary hybrid nanofluid past a stretching sheet is studied using numerical *** Newtonian heating boundary conditions that depend on the temperature and velocity terms are taken into this *** particular dimensional governing equations,for the studied problem,are converted to the system of partial differential equations utilizing adequate similarity ***,the system of equations is numerically solved using well-known Kellar box numerical *** obtained numerical results are in excellent approval with previous literature *** existence of types for composite ternary nanoparticles,which as alumina al2O3,copper oxide CuO,and silver Ag or copper Cu,as well as water H2O which is considered an essential fluid,are *** physical features,such as temperature,velocity,local skin friction coefficient,and local Nusselt number are explored with the variation of MHD Casson ternary hybrid nanofluids parameters and displayed graphically and tabularly in the present *** numerical outcomes exhibit that when the conjugate parameter values rise,the temperature and local Nusselt number increase,however they decrease as the Casson parameter is reduced.

Isolation and preliminary characterization of a 3-chlorobenzoate degrading bacteria

A study was conducted to compare the diversity of 2-, 3-, and 4-chlorobenzoate degraders in two pristine soils and one contaminated sewage sludge. These samples contained strikingly different populations of mono-chlorobenzoate degraders. although fewer cultures were isolated in the uncontaminated soils than contaminated one, the ability of microbial populations to mineralize chlorobenzoate was widespread. The 3- and 4-chlorobenzoate degraders were more diverse than the 2-chlorobenzoate degraders. One of the strains isolated from the sewage sludge was obtained. Based on its phenotype, chemotaxonomic properties and 16S rRNA gene, the organism S-7 was classified as Rhodococcus erythropolis. The strain can grow at temperature from 4 to 37℃. It can utilize several （halo）aromatic compounds. Moreover, strain S-7 can grow and use 3-chlorobenzoate as sole carbon source in a temperatures range of 10-30℃ with stoichiometric release of chloride ions. The psychrotolerant ability was significant for bioremediation in low temperature regions. Catechol and chlorocatechol 1,2-dioxygenase activities were present in cell free extracts of the strain, but no （chloro）catechol 2,3- dioxygenase activities was detected. Spectral conversion assays with extracts from R. erythropolis S-7 showed accumulation of a compound with a similar UV spectrum as chloro-cis,cis-muconate from 3-chlorobenzoate. On the basis of these results, we proposed that S-7 degraded 3-chlorobenzoate through the modified ortho-cleave pathway.

We construct and analyze a family of semi-discretized difference schemes with two parameters for the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation. The scheme possesses the first four near-conserved quantities for periodic boundary conditions. The existence and the convergence of its global solution in Sobolev space L-infinity(0,T;H-3) are proved and the scheme is also stable about initial values. Furthermore, the scheme conserves exactly the first two conserved quantities in the special case.

Effects of Biomimetic Surface Designs on Furrow Opener Performance

Correlation Between Local Atomic Symmetry and Mechanical Properties in Metallic Glasses

The local atomic symmetry was investigated and discussed for understanding mechanical, vibrational and dynamical properties in metallic glasses. Local five-fold symmetry was defined based on the ratio of pentagons to the total number of faces in a Voronoi cluster analyzed by Voronoi tessellation method. It is found that the plastic deformation prefer to be initiated in the regions with less degree of local five-fold symmetry （LFFS） and propagate gradually toward the region with more degree of LFFS. On the other hand, the local structures having less degree of LFFS contribute more to the soft low-frequency modes, and thus the so-called boson peak, while those with more degree of LFFS participate more in moderate- and high- frequency modes in metallic glasses. The relationship between local atomic symmetry and structural heterogeneity, mechanical heterogeneity, and glass transition was also discussed. It is shown that local atomic symmetry could be a general structural indicator in metallic liquids and glasses for better understanding the structure-property relationship in amorphous alloys.

Comparison Study of Constitutive Models for Overconsolidated Clays

Widely distributed in natural deposits,the overconsolidated(OC)clays have attracted extensive experimental investigations on their mechanical behaviors,especially in the 1960s and *** on these results,numerous constitutive models have also been *** models generally fall into two categories:one based on the classical plasticity theory and the other the bounding surface(BS)plasticity theory,with the latter being more popular and *** BS concept and the subloading surface(SS)concept are the two major BS plasticity *** features of these two concepts and the representative models based on them are introduced,*** unified hardening(UH)model for OC clays is also based on the BS plasticity theory but distinguishes itself from other models by the integration of the reference yield surface,unified hardening parameter,potential failure stress ratio,arid transformed stress *** is made to the Hvorslev envelop employed in the UH model to improve its capability of describing the behaviors of clays with extremely high overconsolidation ratio in this *** comparison among the BS model,SS model,and UH model is *** shows that all these three models can characterize the fundamental behaviors of OC clays,such as the stress dilatancy,strain softening and attainment of the critical *** UH model with the revised Hvorslev envelop has the fewest parameters which are identical to those of the modified Cam-Clay model.

Physical and Kinematical Characteristics of Wolf–Rayet Central Stars and their Host Planetary Nebulae

We address the physical and kinematical properties of Wolf–Rayet[WR]central stars(CSs)and their host planetary nebulae(PNe).The studied sample comprises all[WR]CSs that are currently *** analysis is based on recent observations of the parallax,proper motion,and color index of[WR]CSs from the Gaia space mission’s early third release(eDR3)catalog,as well as common nebular *** results revealed an evolutionary sequence,in terms of decreasing Teff,from the early hot[WO 1]to the late cold[WC 12]*** evolutionary sequence extends beyond[WR]CS temperature and luminosity to additional CS and nebular *** statistical analysis shows that the mean final stellar mass and evolutionary age of the[WR]CS sample are 0.595±0.13M⊙and 9449±2437 yr,respectively,with a mean nebular dynamical age of 7270±1380 *** addition,we recognize that the color of the majority(∼85%)of[WR]CSs tends to be red rather than their genuine blue *** analysis indicates that two-thirds of the apparent red color of most[WR]s is attributed to the interstellar extinction whereas the other one-third is due to the PN self-extinction effect.
