Delayed atomoxetine or fluoxetine treatment coupled with limited voluntary running promotes motor recovery in mice after ischemic stroke

Currently, there is an unmet need for treatments promoting post-stroke functional *** aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the dose-dependent effect of delayed atomoxetine or fluoxetine therapy(starting on post-stroke day 5), coupled with limited physical exercise(2 hours daily voluntary wheel running;post-stroke days 9 to 42), on motor recovery of adult male mice after photothrombotic *** drugs are selective norepinephrine or serotonin reuptake inhibitors indicated for disorders unrelated to *** predetermined primary end-point for this study was motor function measured in two tasks of spontaneous motor behaviors in grid-walking and cylinder ***, we quantified the running distance and speed throughout the study, the number of parvalbumin-positive neurons in the medial agranular cortex and infarct *** sensorimotor tests revealed that neither limited physical exercise nor a drug treatment alone significantly facilitated motor recovery in mice after ***, combination of physical exercise with either of the drugs promoted restoration of motor function by day 42 post-stroke, with atomoxetine being a more potent *** was accompanied by a significant decrease in parvalbumin-positive inhibitory interneurons in the ipsilateral medial agranular cortex of mice with recovering motor function, while infarct volumes were comparable among experimental *** further validated in larger studies, our observations suggest that add-on atomoxetine or fluoxetine therapy coupled with limited, structured physical rehabilitation could offer therapeutic modality for stroke survivors who have difficulty to engage in early, high-intensity ***, in light of the recently completed Assessment o f fluoxet INe In s Troke recover Y(AffINITY) and Efficacy o f fluoxetine-a randomis Ed Controlled Trial in Stroke(EffECTS) trials, our observations call for newly designed studies where fluoxetine or atomoxeti

Developing convenient and accurate SARS-CoV-2 antigen test and serology test is crucial in curbing the global COVID-19 *** this work,we report an improved indium oxide(In2O3)nanoribbon field-effect transistor(fET)biosensor platform detecting both SARS-CoV-2 antigen and *** fET biosensors,which were fabricated using a scalable and cost-efficient lithography-free process utilizing shadow masks,consist of an In_(2)O_(3)channel and a newly developed stable enzyme *** the biosensing process,the phosphatase enzymatic reaction generated pH change of the solution,which was then detected and converted to electrical signal by our In_(2)O_(3)*** biosensors applied phosphatase as enzyme reporter,which has a much better stability than the widely used urease in fET based *** proof-of-principle studies,we demonstrate the detection of SARS-CoV-2 spike protein in both phosphate-buffered saline(PBS)buffer and universal transport medium(UTM)(limit of detection[LoD]:100 fg/mL).following the SARS-CoV-2 antigen tests,we developed and characterized additional sensors aimed at SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibodies,which is important to trace past infection and *** spike protein IgG antibody tests exhibit excellent detection limits in both PBS and human whole blood((LoD):1 pg/mL).Our biosensors display similar detection performance in different mediums,demonstrating that our biosensor approach is not limited by Debye screening from salts and can selectively detect biomarkers in physiological *** newly selected enzyme for our platform performs much better performance and longer shelf life which will lead our biosensor platform to be capable for real clinical diagnosis usage.

The vorticity analysis technique was applied to measure the different lithological units,such as schist,metagranite and metavolcano-sedimentary rocks,which are present in the Halaban *** work aims to interpret the relationship between the different lithologies and the tectonic setting,in order to elucidate the nature of kinematic analysis in the Halaban *** kinematic analyses were applied to feldspar porphyroclasts,quartz and hornblende for twenty-six *** kinematic vorticity number(Wm)for deformed rocks in the study area ranged from~0.6 to *** direction of the long axes for finite strain data(X axes)revealed a WNW trend with shallow *** direction of the short axes for finite strain data(Z axes)were represented by vertical with associated horizontal *** results of the kinematic vorticity and strain analyses are characterized by simple shear with different degrees of deformation in the Halaban ***,our finite strain data shows no significant volume change during *** subhorizontal foliation was synchronized with thrusting and ***,throughout the overlying nappes,the same attitudes of tectonic contacts are observable,the nappes in the orogens being formed from simple shear deformation.

In this paper,analytical,computational,and experimental studies are integrated to examine unsteady acoustic/vorticity transport phenomena in a solid rocket motor chamber with end-wall disturbance and side-wall ***-fluid dynamic interactions across the chamber may generate intense unsteady vorticity with associated shear *** stresses may cause scouring and,in turn,enhance the heat rate and erosional burning of solid propellant in a real rocket *** this modelling,the unsteady propellant gasification is mimicked by steady-state flow disturbed by end-wall *** analytical approach is formulated using an asymptotic technique to reduce the full governing *** equations that arise from the analysis possess wave properties are solved in an initial-boundary value *** numerical study is performed by solving the parabolized Navier–Stokes equations for the DNS simulation and unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes equations along with the energy equation using the control volume approach based on a staggered grid system with the turbulence *** v2-f turbulence model has been *** results show that an unexpectedly large amplitude of unsteady vorticity is generated at the injection side-wall of the chamber and is then penetrated downstream by the bulk motion of the internal *** stresses may cause a scouring effect and large transient heat transfer on the combustion surface.A comparison between the analytical,computational,and experimental results is performed.

In this research,a detailed multi-physics study has been carried out by numerically simulating a solid fractured gun barrel for 20 thermo-mechanical *** numerical model is based on thermal effects,mechanical stress fields and fatigue crack ***-plastic material data of modified AISI 4340 at temperatures ranging from 25 to 1200℃and at strain rates of 4,16,32 and 48 s^(-1) was acquired from high-temperature compression *** was used as material property data in the simulation *** boundary conditions applied are kept similar to the working gun barrel during continuous firing.A methodology has been provided to define thermo-mechanically active surface-to-surface type interface between the crack faces for a better approximation of stresses at the crack *** of results from non-autofrettaged and autofrettaged simulation models provide useful information about the evolution of strains and stresses in the barrel at different points under combined thermo-mechanical loading cycles in both *** effect of thermal fatigue under already induced compressive yield due to autofrettage and the progressive degradation of the accumulated stresses due to thermo-mechanical cyclic loads on the internal surface of the gun barrel(mimicking the continuous firing scenario)has been *** between energy release rate at tips of varying crack lengths due to cyclic thermo-mechanical loading in the non-autofrettaged and autofrettaged gun has been carried out.

In recent times,the evolution of blockchain technology has got huge attention from the research community due to its versatile applications and unique security *** IoT has shown wide adoption in various applications including smart cities,healthcare,trade,business,*** these applications,fitness applications have been widely considered for smart fitness *** users of the fitness system are increasing at a high rate thus the gym providers are constantly extending the fitness ***,scheduling such a huge number of requests for fitness exercise is a big ***,the user fitness data is critical thus securing the user fitness data from unauthorized access is also *** overcome these issues,this work proposed a blockchain-based load-balanced task scheduling approach.A thorough analysis has been performed to investigate the applications of IoT in the fitness industry and various scheduling *** proposed scheduling approach aims to schedule the requests of the fitness users in a load-balanced way that maximize the acceptance rate of the users’requests and improve resource *** performance of the proposed task scheduling approach is compared with the state-of-the-art approaches concerning the average resource utilization and task rejection *** obtained results confirm the efficiency of the proposed scheduling *** investigating the performance of the blockchain,various experiments are performed using the Hyperledger Caliper concerning latency,throughput,resource *** Solo approach has shown an improvement of 32%and 26%in throughput as compared to Raft and Solo-Raft approaches *** obtained results assert that the proposed architecture is applicable for resource-constrained IoT applications and is extensible for different IoT applications.

Rumors regarding epidemic diseases such as COVID 19,medicines and treatments,diagnostic methods and public emergencies can have harmful impacts on health and political,social and other aspects of people’s lives,especially during emergency situations and health *** huge amounts of content being posted to social media every second during these situations,it becomes very difficult to detect fake news(rumors)that poses threats to the stability and sustainability of the healthcare sector.A rumor is defined as a statement for which truthfulness has not been *** COVID 19,people found difficulty in obtaining the most truthful news easily because of the huge amount of unverified information on social *** methods have been applied for detecting rumors and tracking their sources for COVID 19-related ***,very few studies have been conducted for this purpose for the Arabic language,which has unique ***,this paper proposes a comprehensive approach which includes two phases:detection and *** the detection phase of the study carried out,several standalone and ensemble machine learning methods were applied on the Arcov-19 dataset.A new detection model was used which combined two models:The Genetic Algorithm Based Support Vector Machine(that works on users’and tweets’features)and the stacking ensemble method(that works on tweets’texts).In the tracking phase,several similarity-based techniques were used to obtain the top 1%of similar tweets to a target tweet/post,which helped to find the source of the *** experiments showed interesting results in terms of accuracy,precision,recall and f1-Score for rumor detection(the accuracy reached 92.63%),and showed interesting findings in the tracking phase,in terms of ROUGE L precision,recall and f1-Score for similarity techniques.

Six Minute Walk Test to assess functional capacity in chronic liver disease patients

AIM: To examine the utility of Six Minute Walk Test (6MWT) in patients with chronic liver disease (CLD). METHODS: Two hundred and fifty subjects between the ages of 18 and 80 (mean 47) years performed 6MWT and the Six Minute Walk Distance (6MWD) was measured. RESULTS: The subjects were categorized into four groups. Group A (n = 45) healthy subjects (control); group B (n = 49) chronic hepatitis B patients; group C (n = 54) chronic hepatitis C patients; group D (n = 98) liver cirrhosis patients. The four groups differed in terms of 6MWDs (P fication was negatively correlated with the 6MWD in cirrhosis (group D) patients (r = -0.328, P f a 12 mo follow-up period, 15 of the 98 cirrhosis patients had died from disease complications. The 6MWD for the surviving cirrhotic patients was longer than for non-survivors (317 ± 101 vs 245 ± 145 m, P = 0.021; 95% CI 11-132). The 6MWD was found to be an independent predictor of survival (P = 0.024). CONCLUSION: 6MWT is a useful tool for assessing physical function in CLD patients. We suggest that 6MWD may serve as a prognostic indicator in patients with liver cirrhosis.
