Tight oil reservoirs are contributing a major role to fulfill the overall crude oil needs,especially in the ***,the dilemma is their ultra-tight permeability and an uneconomically short-lived primary recovery ***,the application of EOR in the early reservoir development phase is considered effective for fast-paced and economical tight oil *** achieve these objectives,it is imperative to determine the optimum EOR potential and the best-suited EOR application for every individual tight oil reservoir to maximize its ultimate recovery *** most of the tight oil reservoirs are found in wide spatial source rock with complex and compacted pores and poor geophysical properties yet they hold high saturation of good quality oil and therefore,every single percent increase in oil recovery from such huge reservoirs potentially provide an additional million barrels of ***,the EOR application in such reservoirs is quite ***,the physical understanding of EOR applications in different circumstances from laboratory to field scale is the key to success and similarly,the fundamental physical concepts of fluid flow-dynamics under confinement conditions play an important *** paper presents a detailed discussion on laboratory-based experimental achievements at micro-scale including fundamental concepts under confinement environment,physics-based numerical studies,and recent actual field piloting experiences based on the *** *** objective of this paper is to discuss all the critical reservoir rock and fluid properties and their contribution to reservoir development through massive multi-staged hydraulic fracture networks and the EOR *** the CO_(2)and produced hydrocarbon gas injection through single well-based huff-n-puff operational constraints are discussed in detail both at micro and macro scale.

The nutritional value of perishable food items,such as fruits and vegetables,depends on their freshness *** existing approaches solve a binary class problem by classifying a known fruit\vegetable class into fresh or rotten *** propose an automated fruits and vegetables categorization approach that first recognizes the class of object in an image and then categorizes that fruit or vegetable into one of the three categories:purefresh,medium-fresh,and *** gathered a dataset comprising of 60K images of 11 fruits and vegetables,each is further divided into three categories of freshness,using hand-held *** recognition and categorization of fruits and vegetables are performed through two deep learning models:Visual Geometry Group(VGG-16)and You Only Look Once(YOLO),and their results are ***-16 classifies fruits and vegetables and categorizes their freshness,while YOLO also localizes them within the ***,we have developed an android based application that takes the image of the fruit or vegetable as input and returns its class label and its freshness degree.A comprehensive experimental evaluation of proposed approach demonstrates that the proposed approach can achieve a high accuracy and F1score on gathered FruitVeg Freshness *** dataset is publicly available for further evaluation by the research community.

Synergistic effects of combined therapy of curcumin and Fructus Ligustri Lucidi for treatment of osteoporosis: cellular and molecular evidence of enhanced bone formation

Objective: The present study explored the effects of the combined herbal therapy consisting of curcumin(CUR) and Fructus Ligustri Lucidi(FLL) on aspects of bone ***: Prior to analyzing the ability of this novel combined herbal therapy to promote aspects of bone regeneration, its cytotoxicity was determined using MC3 T3-E1 cells(pre-osteoblast model). Cell proliferation was evaluated using phase-contrast microscopy and cell differentiation was estimated using alkaline phosphatase activity. The effect of the combined herbal therapy(CUR + FLL) was also assessed in terms of mineralization in the extracellular matrix(ECM) of cultured cells. Further, to explore the molecular mechanisms of bone formation, time-dependent expression of bone-regulating protein biomarkers was also ***: Combined herbal therapy(CUR + FLL) significantly upregulated the viability, proliferation and differentiation of MC3 T3-E1 cells compared to the monotherapy of CUR or FLL. The magnitude of ECM mineralization(calcium deposition) was also higher in MC3 T3-E1 cells treated with combined *** time-dependent expression of bone-forming protein biomarkers revealed that the tendency of expression of these bone-regulating proteins was remarkably higher in cells treated with combined ***: The co-administration of CUR and FLL had superior promotion of elements of bone regeneration in cultured cells, thus could be a promising alternative herbal therapy for the management of bone erosive disorders such as osteoporosis.

Lean HC gas injection pilots analysis and IPR back calculation to examine the impact of asphaltene deposition on flow performance

Gas injection is one of the most economical and effective approach to improve oil ***,outcome of such approach is contingent to reservoir heterogeneities impacting gas override and ***,injected fluid composition and its compatibility with the reservoir fluid potentially impact flow assurance issues such as asphaltene precipitation into the wellbore and surface *** objective of this paper is to examine the lesson learnt from a couple of field scale 5 spot patterned lean hydrocarbon gas injection pilots which were deployed in a heterogeneous carbonate formation of a giant field located offshore Abu Dhabi under secondary and tertiary drive *** pilots provides a valuable insight on production performance,pressure support,gravity override,fluid composition and evidence of asphaltene deposition that resulted in heavy production loss prior to the solvent *** paper presents the overall pilot performance including pattern recovery,fluid front movement,potential role of heterogeneity in gas breakthrough timings and the operational events to witness asphaltene deposition affecting the flow *** deposited asphaltene cake thickness was measured mechanically during routine tubing clearance check operation that was helpful in estimating production loss due to altered production tubing flow *** an integrated approach is applied to confirm the AOP laboratory measurements with the actual deposits of asphaltene that were found in to the production *** order to confirm the effect of asphaltene deposition on inflow from near wellbore formation to the wellbore,a straightforward yet innovative nodal analysis approach was applied to study well performance using the calibrated and history matched well *** was noticed that not only the outflow was altered because of asphaltene deposition into wellbore but also the inflow(productivity index)was seriously impacted potentially due to asphaltene depos

Numerical Validation of Asphaltene Precipitation and Deposition during CO2 miscible flooding

Asphaltene precipitation,flocculation,and deposition can significantly reduce oil production by impacting wellbores,flowlines,and more importantly,formations’pore space around the *** alteration in the temperature,pressure and fluid composition can trigger asphaltene *** ability to predict the occurrence and magnitude of the asphaltene deposition is a major step for flow *** accurate prediction of the deposition envelope enables the operator to systematically categorize different cases based on their impact on the *** critical knowledge can be used to predict the occurrence and magnitude of asphaltene deposition,which could potentially save the expense of installing unnecessary equipment and injecting chemical inhibitors when they are not *** asphaltene-related flow assurance issues requires robust physically-based modeling capabilities for capturing the asphaltene’s deposition tendencies as a function of the prevailing field’s operating *** available simulators are found to be useful for predicting asphaltene’s phase behavior,precipitation tendency,and instability curves,they often overlook important physical characteristics of the *** properties may have a detrimental role in obtaining a realistic representation of the asphaltene deposition *** this paper,the experimental and the numerical investigations are combined to present a comprehensive methodology for studying the thermodynamics of asphaltene precipitation and deposition.A wide range of pressures and CO2 concentrations are covered that are relevant to actual CO2 flooding in a Middle East oil *** do so,a series of lab experiments including routine and special PVT analyses where the Asphaltene Onset Pressure(AOP)and Saturation Pressures(Psat)were measured for different mixtures of CO2 and the reservoir *** of 50 mol%CO2 concentration mixture was tested to measure the AOP and *** amount of asphaltene
