Background: Em.agliflozin, a sodium.glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor is used as a m.notherapy or in com.ination for lowering the elevated blood glucose level in patients with type 2 diabetes m.llitus (T2Dm.. It is often associated with certain adverse reactions (urinary tract infection (UTI), diabetes ketoacidosis (DKA), and genital infections). Thus, the Saudi Food and Drug Adm.nistration requested a post-authorisation safety study to m.nitor the safety of em.agliflozin during the defined observation period. m.thodology: The local, com.arator, non-interventional, regulatory post-m.rketing study using “new user” design was conducted in patients with T2Dm. treated with em.agliflozin (10 or 25 m.) and dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors (NCT03764631). Study was conducted from.2018 to 2020, wherein each patient was followed up for 12 m.nths after the index period. Incidence and occurrence of DKA, severe UTIs, volum. depletion and dehydration were observed along with m.tform.n, insulin and treatm.nt com.lexity status and adverse events in the index and Ram.dan period. All data collected were analysed using descriptive statistics. Results: Am.ng the 1502 patients enrolled (em.agliflozin [n = 751] and DPP-4 inhibitors [n = 751]), 0.1% patients (n = 1) in each group and Conclusion: Em.agliflozin was well tolerated over a period of 12 m.nths, with no safety concerns and a favourable benefit/risk ratio.

The com.ressive stress-strain behavior and other characteristics of treated fly ash based roof tiles have been studied by several experim.ntal tests. This paper attem.ts to presents the results and observations of a study and com.arison based on the past reported experim.ntal data. Based on the results and observations of the com.rehensive experim.ntal study, five “control points” have been identified. The new sets of experim.nt have been carried out to investigate whether it m.ght be possible the use of fly ash in fly ash based roof tiles for residential construction. In the present study, treated fly ash (TFA) of C category was used with different m.terials as a replacem.nt of clay for m.king treated fly ash stone dust roof tiles (TFASDRT). Treated fly ash stone dust roof tiles (TFASDRT) were studied at varying percentages of cem.nt, coarse sand, and radish stone dust (RSD) along with the constant percentage of waste polythene fibre (WPF). A research program.was undertaken to evaluate the suitability of such test for assessing the properties of treated fly ash stone dust roof tiles (TFASDRT). The result of this study recom.ends that the fly ash based roof tiles provides a sustainable supplem.nt to the traditional clay roof tiles, they increase the efficiency of traditional roof tiles and significantly help to reduce the environm.ntal issues associated with the disposal of these waste m.terials.

Infection Prevention and Control is a Quality Standard and is crucial in all health care facilities. m.ny hospitals rem.in deficient in trained infection control professionals (ICPs), and now there is an acute awareness of the need to correct this shortfall. The objectives of the study were to describe the current status of ICP program. at m.nistry of health (m.H) and to evaluate the current status of infection prevention and control program. at health care facilities in kingdom.of Saudi Arabia. A cross sectional interview and a self assessm.nt study were conducted on infection prevention and control (IPC) program.in Saudi Arabia. All the m.H hospital in all regions was random.y chosen to the study setting. The selection of facilities was done at random.with a clear intention to include twenty regions. A random.sam.le was taken from.these hospitals with sam.le size 56 (55.4%), by m.lti stage random.sam.ling technique. Results showed that the total facility in all over the kingdom.was 51.4% where central area covered the facility score 58.2%, followed by western area (54.8%), south (53.7%), east (46.3%), and lastly with (45.8%) north area. Survey revealed that the infrastructure for infection control program.in Saudi Arabian hospitals rem.ined underdeveloped. Data were collected and analyzed from.a cross-sectional study using the World Health Organization’s STEPwise approach, to estim.te the prevalence of various types of dyslipidem.a and determ.ne their associated factors am.ng adults in Kingdom.of Saudi Arabia. The study population included 4490 Saudi adults aged 15 years and older who were selected by a stratified, m.ltistage, cluster random.sam.ling technique. Lipid profile was determ.ned by spectrophotom.trically by biochem.cal m.thods, high total cholesterol (TC) was defined as TC of 5.2 m.ol/L or m.re, hypertriglyceridem.a as serum.triglycerides level 1.7 m.ol/L or m.re and. low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) as serum.HDL-C 0.9 m.ol/L or less, LDL-C 3.35 m.ol/L or m.re and TC/HDL ratio 5 or m.re. Of the 4490 subjects (94.4 % of total sam.le) included in the final analysis, 51% were fem.les, 23% of study subjects were less than 25years and 11% were 55 or m.re years of age. The overall prevalence of dyslipidem.a ranged from.about 20% to 40%. The highest prevalence was for triglycerides where about 44% of all subjects were affected. About a fifth of the subjects had high level of total cholesterol. m.les had significantly higher prevalence of all types of dyslipidem.a than fem.le except LDL-C and TC. Higher dyslipidem.a prevalence of total cholesterol and triglycerides were significantly found in older subjects, illiterates and housekeepers. Lower prevalence rates for HDL-C was significantly observed in retired and youngest subjects. There were significant regional variations and significantly higher prevalence of dyslipidem.a am.ng hypertensives, diabetics, obese/overweight, sm.kers and physically inactive subjects. There were no significant differences according to incom. or fruits and vegetable consum.tion. Logistic regression analysis revealed that obesity/overweight, gender, age, diabetes were the m.st im.ortant significant predictors of dyslipidem.a. The findings of this study suggest that the pre

The m.in role of this article is to describe dental assistants and the dental departm.nt’s role in the dental delivery system.for Special health care needs (SCHN) by creating a structure to educate the dental assisting profession and project factors that have a significant im.act on the dental assistant. The dental assisting m.nagem.nt of SCHN patient’s profession including dental Assistance general responsibilities, regulation credentialing, and education. The SCHN patient’s m.nagem.nt creates a challenge in all area of the dental departm.nt. Handling patient with a SCHN is underexplored throughout the dental staff especially when there is not enough theoretical foundation, education and training to deal with this category of patients. SCHN patients are defined as individuals who have abnorm.l behavioral im.airm.nts, m.ntal conditions or/and chronic disease or abnorm.l laboratory results. Thus, the aim.of this article is to guide all dental assistance staff in the best dental m.nagem.nt choice for SCHN patients. All health care team. are part of patient care in m.st m.dical settings. A work environm.nt supportive ensures positive outcom.s for patient care. This article was considered as those categories of patients required m.re care and special way to deal with, m.reover language, age, gender and education level of the patient are also considered significant parries. Not m.ny studies were found to support the care of SCHN patients in dentistry departm.nt. Taking experience from.other area help to design a system.to handle the SCHN even if it requires hiring a Dentist who is specialized in that filed.
