The objective of this paper is introducing practical solutions for stabilized pseudo-steady state productivity index and pressure behaviors and flow regimes of multiple vertical wells depleting closed rectangular *** introduces full understanding of reservoir performance during transient and pseudo-steady state flow using pressure and pressure derivative patterns and productivity index and productivity index derivative *** practical solutions proposed in this study are relied on a new approach for accurate estimation of starting time of pseudo-steady state flow and stabilized productivity index by applying productivity index derivative that converges mathematically to zero at the beginning of this *** is also an attempt for pointing out the optimal reservoir configuration that can give maximum stabilized pseudo-steady state productivity index for different wellbore types and distributions in the drainage *** analytical models are used in this study for describing pressure drop and productivity index behavior of multiple vertical wells considering different reservoir configurations and different wellbore types and *** wells were assumed either fully or partially penetrate the *** pressure models are justified to generate two pressure derivatives,one represents the derivative of time dependent pressure drop and the second represents the derivative of time-invariant pressure *** two derivatives are used for determining the starting time of pseudo-steady state flow and stabilized productivity index when both converge and mathematically become *** models are used also to generate several plots for time-invariant or stabilized pseudo-steady state productivity index for different reservoir geometries considering different wellbore *** maximum stabilized productivity index is illustrated in these plots and several analytical models for the expected flow regimes are developed using pressure a

Effect of silica fume on the fresh and hardened properties of fly ash-based self-compacting geopolymer concrete

The effect of silica fume on the fresh and hardened properties of fly ash-based self-compacting geopolymer concrete （sCGC） was investigated in this paper. The work focused on the concrete mixes with a fixed water-to-geopolymer solid （W/Gs） ratio of 0.33 by mass and a constant total binder content of 400 kg/m3. The mass fractions of silica fume that replaced fly ash in this research were 0wt%, 5wt%, 10wt%, and 15wt%. The workability-related fresh properties of sCGC were assessed through slump flow, V-funnel, and L-box test methods. Hardened concrete tests were limited to compressive, splitting tensile and flexural strengths, all of which were measured at the age of 1, 7, and 28 d after 48-h oven curing. The results indicate that the addition of silica fume as a partial replacement of fly ash results in the loss of workability; nevertheless, the mechanical properties of hardened sCGC are significantly improved by incorporating silica fume, especially up to 10wt%. Applying this percentage of silica fume results in 4.3% reduction in the slump flow; however, it increases the compressive strength by 6.9%, tensile strength by 12.8% and flexural strength by 11.5%.

The objectives of this study are to explain the repairing and strengthening methods which are used to improve the structural performance of the bridge structure,to analyze the static and dynamic responses after strengthening,and to evaluate the performance of the bridge structure after repairing and *** methods of repairing and strengthening include reconstruction the deck of the bridge by casting 10 cm layer of concrete,strengthening the web and bottom floor of box girders of middle spans and side spans by sticking the steel plates,strengthening the whole bridge structure by using external pre-stressing tendons,and treatment the *** results of theoretical analysis show that the values of tensile stress and vertical deflection are decreased and the compressive stress is increased after *** are not tensile stresses are appeared in the sections of the bridge *** modal analysis results show that the value of natural frequency is equal to 2.09 Hz which is more than the values before strengthening which is equal to 1.64 Hz,indicating that the stiffness of the bridge structure is improved and the strengthening process is effective to improve the cracks resistance and bearing capacity of the bridge structure.

Peripheral Nonlinear Time spectrum Features Algorithm for Large Vocabulary Mandarin Automatic speech Recognition

This work describes an improved feature extractor algorithm to extract the peripheral features of point x(ti,fj) using a nonlinear algorithm to compute the nonlinear time spectrum (NL-Ts) pattern. The algo- rithm observes n×n neighborhoods of the point in all directions, and then incorporates the peripheral fea- tures using the Mel frequency cepstrum components (MFCCs)-based feature extractor of the Tsinghua elec- tronic engineering speech processing (THEEsP) for Mandarin automatic speech recognition (MAsR) sys- tem as replacements of the dynamic features with different feature combinations. In this algorithm, the or- thogonal bases are extracted directly from the speech data using discrite cosime transformation (DCT) with 3×3 blocks on an NL-Ts pattern as the peripheral features. The new primal bases are then selected and simplified in the form of the ?dp- operator in the time direction and the ?dp- operator in the frequency di- t f rection. The algorithm has 23.29% improvements of the relative error rate in comparison with the standard MFCC feature-set and the dynamic features in tests using THEEsP with the duration distribution-based hid- den Markov model (DDBHMM) based on MAsR system.

Experimental monitoring of the strengthening construction of a segmental box girder bridge and field testing of external prestressing tendons anchorage

Prestressed concrete segmental box girder bridges are composed of short concrete segments that are either precast or cast in situ and then joined together by longitudinally post-tensioning internal,external,or mixed *** objectives of this study are to monitor the construction process of the external prestressing tendons to strengthen the bridge structure and perform a field load test to measure the strain and the deflection of the anchorage devices of the external prestressing tendons to determine the state of these devices after tension forces are *** monitoring process of the external prestressing tendons construction includes inspecting the cracks in the diaphragm anchorage and the deviation block devices before the tension forces are applied to the external tendons;measuring the deformation of the steel deviation cross beam during the tension process;measuring the deformation of the box girder after different levels of tension forces are applied;measuring the elongation of the external tendons in each level of the tension;and measuring the natural frequency of the external tendons after the tension process is *** results of the monitoring process show that the measured values of the deformation,the elongation,and the natural frequency meet the ***,there is no damage during the construction and the tensioning of the external prestressing tendons.A field load test is performed to the anchorage beam,the steel deviation block devices,and the steel deviation cross *** field load test results of the anchorage devices show that the values of the strains,the stresses,and the deflection are less than the respective allowable limit values in the ***,the anchorage devices have sufficient strength,and the working state is good after the tension forces are applied to the external prestressing tendons.

We investigate the spectral response of nanostructured copper oxides thin film. Gold was doped in two different concentrations(2% and 4%) using the spray method. A novel ammonia gas sensor at various concentrations(0–500 ppm)was fabricated by replacing CuO films with a clad region. In addition, the effect of gold doping on structural, optical,and morphological properties has been demonstrated. The study shows that the spectral intensity increases linearly with ammonia concentration. The 4% Au doped CuO presents higher sensitivity compared with 2% doped and pure copper oxides. Time response characteristics of the sensor are also reported.

Evaluation of sand Dunes stabilization Techniques in Baiji District,Iraq

This research was conducted at the sand dunes stabilization research s tation in Baiji district, Iraq. Three techniques for sand dunes stabilization ar e selected: the first method is stabilization by clayey block barriers; the seco nd method is stabilization by dry planting of tamarix (tamarix articulata) cutti ngs and the third is stabilization by using cane branch barriers. Randomized sam ples were taken from the surface and subsurface layers of the stabilized and shi fting sand dunes to evaluate the effect of the three techniques on wind erosion parameters. The results indicate high significant differences between the wind e rosion parameters in the surface and subsurface layers in the stabilized sand du nes, while there are insignificant differences between the subsurface layer of t he stabilized dunes and the surface and subsurface layers in the active sand dun es. The results clarify the fact that there is an increase in the percentage of clay, silt, organic matter, mean weight diameter and the percentage of the dry a ggregates (>0.84 mm). A decrease is found in the rate of disaggregation for the dry aggregates in the samples of the surface layer of stabilized dunes when comp ared with the subsurface layer of stabilized dunes and the surface layer of the shifting sand dunes. There is a positive high significant correlation among the aggregate stability parameters and the percentage of clay and silt, and the cont ent of organic matter in the studied layers.

Performance Evaluation of Complex Wavelet Packet Modulation (CWPM) system over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channel

In this paper a novel multicarrier modulation system called Complex Wavelet Packet Modulation (CWPM) has been proposed. It is based on using the Complex Wavelet Transform (CWT) together with the Wavelet Packet Modulation (WPM). The proposed system has been tested for communication over flat and frequency selective Rayleigh fading channels and its performance has been compared with some other multicarrier systems. The simulation results show that the performance of the proposed CWPM system has the best performance in all types of channel considered as compared with OFDM, slantlet based OFDM, FRAT based OFDM and WPM systems. Furthermore, the proposed scheme has less PAPR as compared with the traditional WPM multicarrier system.

stratigraphic Correlation between subsurface Maastrichtian Digma Formation and safra Unit from Outcrop sections, Western Desert of Iraq

In this work we try to clarify, and correlate between two Maastrichtian aged units, namely Digma and safra Units from selected sections in western desert of Iraq. Taking in consideration the stratigraphic code of NAsCENT (2005), and the results of previous studies, nine criteria have been used for the correlation, as follow: 1- From lithostratigraphic point of view, Digma Formation (Fm.) mostly composed of dark grey to blackish gray, uniform Carbonates-dominated facies, while safra unit is characterized by light yellowish brown mixed phosphatic- siliceous-siliciclastics and carbonates facies. 2- Digma Fm. is characterized by Benthonic foraminifera assemblages (Bulimmina sp., siphogerinoides sp. & Bolivinoides sp. ), while safra phosphatic unit is flourished by macrofossils assemblages and vertebrates (Oyster, fish teeth’s and bones). 3- The upper and lower boundaries of the Digma Fm. are conformable, and vice versa for safra Unit. 4- Illite/semctite mixed layers-Illite clays assemblage and Glauconitic are predominates in Digma Fm., while sepiolite-palygorskite-Montmorillonite, are common in safra Unit, without any Glauconitic mineralization. 5- Digma Fm. slightly influenced by neomorphism and micritization. On other hand, safra facies extremely influenced by phosphatization, silicification, dolomitization, and neomorphism and carbonate-silica replacement of the original evaporate minerals. 6- The predominated foraminiferal wackestone and mudstone microfacies, within Digma facies associations, mostly indicate deep trough marine condition (Anah Graben). The mixed phosphatic-carbonates (Oyster coquina band) and siliciclastics facies, (occasionally cross laminated), mostly deposited in shallower water depth, on the Arabian platform and distal steepened ramp towards Rutba flanks. 7- sequence boundary of type one and three is bounded the safra Unit respectively from upper and lower parts. 8- Continuously deposited sequence was detected from the parasequences of the safra
