The interaction of ultra-intense high-power lasers with solid-state targets has been largely studied for the past 20 years as a future compact proton and ion ***,the huge potential established on the target surface by the escaping electrons provides accelerating gradients of TV/*** process,called target normal sheath acceleration,involves a large number of phenomena and is very difficult to study because of the picosecond scale *** the SPARC LAB Test Facility,the high-power laser FLAME is employed in experiments with solid targets,aiming to study possible correlations between ballistic fast electrons and accelerated *** detail,we have installed in the interaction chamber two different diagnostics,each one devoted to characterizing one *** first relies on electro-optic sampling,and it has been adopted to completely characterize the ultrafast electron *** the other hand,a time-of-flight detector,based on chemical-vapour-deposited diamond,has allowed us to retrieve the proton energy *** this work,we report preliminary studies about simultaneous temporal resolved measurements of both the first forerunner escaping electrons and the accelerated protons for different laser parameters.

The integrated use of multiple renewable energy sources to increase the efficiency of heat pump systems,such as in Solar Assisted Geothermal Heat Pumps(SAGHP),may lead to significant benefits in terms of increased efficiency and overall system performance especially in extreme climate contexts,but requires careful integrated optimization of the different system *** particular,thermal storages take a fundamental role in optimizing the integration of renewable energy sources and the system *** work investigates the potential design optimization of a SAGHP system in a mountain site by exploring many different alternatives to optimize the mutual relationship between the solar field,the geothermal field and the water thermal *** is done through an original simulation-based multi-objective optimization framework considering energy efficiency and economic feasibility,which allows appraising the impact of the different design alternatives on the overall system performance and on the dynamics of the different system *** identify a set of optimized system configurations that optimize the integrated exploitation of the different thermal sources showing a potential increase of the overall system performance leading to 34%lower global cost compared to the initial *** robustness of the optimal design solutions is reported with respect to the current context of high economic uncertainty.

Water soluble organic carbon （WSOC） is considered the most mobile and reactive soil carbon source and its characterization is an important issue for soil ecology study. A biodegradability test was set up to study WSOC extracted from 7 soils differently managed. WSOC was extracted from soil with water （soil/water ratio of 1：2, W/V） for 30 min, and then tested for biodegradability by a liquid state respirometric test. Result obtained confirmed the finding that WSOC biodegradability depended on the both land use and management practice. These results suggested the biodegradability test as suitable method to characterize WSOC, and provided useful information to soil fertility.

With the growing number and capacity of photovoltaic(PV)installations connected to distribution networks,power quality issues related to voltage regulation are becoming relevant problems for power distribution companies and for PV *** many countries,like Italy,this has required the revision of the standards concerning the connection to the public distribution network of distributed renewable *** new standards require a flexible operation of generation plants that have to be capable to change the active and reactive power dynamically in function of the network parameters(*** and network local voltage)in local control or following external ***,this paper investigates the use of smart inverter in a critical PV installation,where relevant voltage fluctuations exist.A case study,with real network parameters monitoring data and measurements,is discussed in the paper with the aim of showing how‘smart’features of new inverters can be implemented to increase PV plant integration in low voltage distribution networks.

The capacity of humic acid extracted from organic waste （HAw） to reduce Cr（Ⅵ） was tested at pH 2.5,4 and 6 and compared with coal-derived humic acid （HAc）.HAw was more effective than HAc in reducing Cr（Ⅵ）.The kinetics of Cr（Ⅵ） reductions depended strongly on *** calculation of the apparent rate coefficients indicated that HAw was more efficient at reducing Cr（Ⅵ） than HAc,but was also more efficient than HAs from soil and *** reduction capability of HAs depends on the type of functional groups （i.e.,thiols and phenols） present,rather than the free *** was more efficient at reducing Cr（Ⅵ） than HAc because more reactive phenols were present,i.e.,methoxy-and methyl-phenols.

Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is one of the major forms of dementia,accounting for 60 to 80%of the cases of dementia,affecting approximately 50 million people worldwide,which is why it has become an object of great interest in both the medical and social fields(Source:Alzheimer’s Association).One of the main histopathological hallmarks of AD is the formation and accumulation of senile plaques in the brain parenchyma,mainly composed by fibrillar aggregates of the amyloidβ(Aβ)*** peptide is generated by the cleavage of the membrane protein named amyloidβprecursor protein,and its secretion in the extracellular space leads to its aggregation into amyloid *** intermediates of this process of aggregation have been identified,and it was found that prefibrillar,soluble oligomeric forms of Aβare more likely to be the pathological species(Benilova et al.,2012).

This paper focuses on a new approach to design(possibly fractional) set-point filters for fractional control *** designing a smooth and monotonic desired output signal,the necessary command signal is obtained via fractional input-output ***,a set-point filter is determined based on the synthesized command *** filter is computed by minimizing the 2-norm of the difference between the command signal and the filter step *** proposed methodology allows the designer to synthesize both integer and fractional setpoint *** pros and cons of both solutions are discussed in *** approach is suitable for the design of two degreeof-freedom controllers capable to make the set-point tracking performance almost independent from the feedback part of the *** results show the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.

This paper proposes a modified iterative learning control(MILC)periodical feedback-feedforward algorithm to reduce the vibration of a rotor caused by coupled unbalance and parallel *** control of the vibration of the rotor is provided by an active magnetic actuator(AMA).The iterative gain of the MILC algorithm here presented has a self-adjustment based on the magnitude of the *** filters are adopted to extract the synchronous(1×Ω)and twice rotational frequency(2×Ω)components of the rotor *** the notch frequency of the filter and the size of feedforward storage used during the experiment have a real-time adaptation to the rotational *** method proposed in this work can provide effective suppression of the vibration of the rotor in case of sudden changes or fluctuations of the rotor *** and experiments using the MILC algorithm proposed here are carried out and give evidence to the feasibility and robustness of the technique proposed.
