The objective of this ongoing joint research program is to determine how 3D/4D modeling, simulation and visualization of Products (buildings), Organizations and Processes (POP) can support lean construction. Initial findings suggest that Process Design Pattern may have the potential to intuitively support ICT based lean construction. We initiated a 'Process Archeology' in order to reveal the requirements for tools that can support the planning, simulation and control of lean construction methods. First findings show that existing tools provide only limited support and therefore, we started to develop new methodologies and technologies to overcome these shortcomings. Through the introduction of Process Design Patterns, we intent to establish process thinking in the interdisciplinary POP design. Optimized construction processes may be synthesized with semi-automatic methods by applying Process Design Patterns on building structures. By providing process templates that integrate problem solution and expert knowledge, Process Design Patterns may have the potential to ensure high quality process models.

Although the rumen microbiome has been reported to synthesize a rich source of symbiotic enzymes(exocellulase, endocellulase, hemicellulase and cellobiase), the digestion of tropical C_4 grasses and browses by ruminants is still limited. Therefore, this study aimed to unveil potential fibrolytic microbial ecosystems from giraffe, kudu, impala and consortia(A1 [giraffe + kudu], A2 [giraffe + impala], A3[kudu + impala], and A4 [giraffe + kudu + impala]) browsing tanniferous plants, which can be used to improve forage utilization in domesticated goat. Crude protein enzyme extracts(CPZ) from fresh faecal samples were precipitated by 60% ammonium sulphate and assayed for exocellulase, endocellulase and hemicellulase by incubating with crystalline cellulose, carboxymethyl cellulose and xylan at 38 ℃ with optimum pH of 5.5 to 6.5 for 1, 2, and 48 h, respectively. Enzyme specific activities were defined as μg of reducing sugar/mg CPZ. In vitro fermentation study was done by transferring 33 mL of fresh faecal inoculum into 67 mL of salivary buffer containing 1 g Acacia sieberiana and incubating for 72 h at 38 ℃,Apparent degradability(APDeg), true degradability(TD), neutral detergent fibre degradability(NDFdeg),acid detergent fibre degradability(ADFdeg), microbial yield(MY), metabolizable energy(ME) and total gas emitted(Gas) were measured. Exocellulase activities were higher(P < 0.05) in all wild animals and consortia than those in goat except for A4. Minimal differences in hemicellulase activities(P < 0.05) were observed among goat and wild animals and consortia, while endocellulase activity was generally higher(P < 0.05) in goat than that in the rest of the systems. Apart from A3, TDeg, NDFdeg and ADFdeg were higher(P < 0.05) in all microbial ecosystems from wild animals and consortia than those in *** degradability, MY and ME also varied(P < 0.05) among these systems. Most studies of predator-induced plasticity have focused on documenting how prey species re- spond to predators by modifying phenotypic traits and how traits correlate with fitness. We have previously shown that Pleurodema thaul tadpoles exposed to the dragonfly Rhionaeschna varie- gata responded strongly by showing morphological changes, less activity, and better survival than non-exposed tadpoles. Here, we tested whether there is a functional link between morphological plasticity and increased survival in the presence of predators. Tadpoles that experienced predation risk were smaller, less developed, and much less active than tadpoles without this experience. Burst speed did not correlate significantly with morphological changes and predator-induced deeper tails did not act as a lure to divert predator strikes away from the head. Although we have previously found that tadpoles with predator-induced morphology survive better under a direct predator threat, our results on the functional link between morphology and fitness are not conclu- sive. Our results suggest that in P. thaultadpoles （1） burst speed is not important to evade preda- tors, （2） those exposed to predators reduce their activity, and （3） morphological changes do not divert predator attacks away from areas that compromise tadpole survivalEE. Our results show that morphological changes in P. thaul tadpoles do not explain burst speed or lure attraction, al- though there was a clear reduction of activity, which itself reduces predation. We propose that changes in tadpole activity could be further analyzed from another perspective, with morphological change as an indirect product of behavior mediated by physiological mechanisms.

Background: Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma(ICC) still has a poor long-term outcome, even after complete resection. We investigated different parameters gathered in preoperative imaging and analyzed their influence on resectability, recurrence, and survival. Methods: All patients who underwent exploration due to ICC between January 2008 and June 2018 were analyzed retrospectively. Kaplan-Meier model, log-rank test and Cox regression were used. Results: Out of 184 patients, 135(73.4%) underwent curative intended resection. Median overall survival(OS) was 22.2 months with a consecutive 1-, 3-and 5-year OS of 73%, 29%, and 17%. Median recurrencefree survival(RFS) was 9.3 months with a consecutive 1-, 3-and 5-year RFS of 36%, 15%, and 11%. Site of tumor, parenchymal localization, tumor configuration/dissemination, and estimated tumor volume had significant influence on resectability. Univariate analyses showed that site of tumor, tumor configuration/dissemination, number of nodules, and estimated tumor volume had predictive values for OS and RFS. Together with tumor size the preoperative prediction(POP) score was created showing significance for OS and RFS(all P<0.001). In multivariate analysis, POP score(HR=1.779;95% CI: 1.26 8-2.4 95;P=0.001), T stage(HR=1.255;95% CI: 1.040-1.514;P=0.018) and N stage(HR=1.334;95% CI: 1.081-1.645;P=0.007) were the independent predictors for OS. For RFS, POP score(HR=1.733;95% CI: 1.30 0-2.311;P<0.0 01) and M stage(HR=3.036;95% CI: 1.376-6.697;P=0.006) were the independent predictors. Conclusions: The POP score showed to have a highly significant influence on OS and RFS. The score is easy to assess through preoperative imaging. For patients in the high risk group at least staging laparoscopy or preoperative chemotherapy should be evaluated, because they showed equal outcome compared to the irresectable group.

Objective:To screen phytochemicals in ethanolic leaf extracts of Phyllanthus amarus collected from three different geographical zones in Nigeria and evaluate their effects on larva and adult of Anopheles ***:The sample extracts of Phyllanthus amarus prepared with ethanol solvent were tested against Anopheles gambiae at two important developmental stages of its life cycle using slightly modified WHO ***:Alkaloids,saponins,tannins,flavonoids,glycosides,phenols,and terpenes were detected in each *** these samples,the extract from northwest exhibited the highest larvicidal activity(LC50=263.02 ppm),followed by southeast and southwest extracts(LC50=288.40 and 295.12 ppm,respectively after 48 h),while the extract from southwest exhibited the highest adulticidal activity(LC50=275.42 ppm),followed by northwest and southeast extract(LC50=301.99 and 316.22 ppm,respectively after 24 h).A 50%larva mortality was almost attained at 600 ppm after 48 h duration of exposure to the northwest ***:The tested samples possess strong larvicidal and adulticidal property against Anopheles gambiae which depends on their chemical composition and localities of *** studies are needed to explore the insecticidal activity against a wider range of mosquito species,and to identify active ingredient(s)of the extract responsible for such activity.

Proteome alterations in aqueous humour of primary open angle glaucoma patients

AIM: To unravel the primary open angle glaucoma(POAG) related proteomic changes in aqueous humour(AH).METHODS: Totally 35 patients listed for cataract surgery(controls: n=12, age: 67.4±13.6 y) or trabeculectomy for POAG(n=23, age: 72.5±8.3 y) were included. AH samples of those patients were obtained during cataract surgery or trabeculectomy. AH samples were subsequently pooled into the experimental groups under equal contribution in terms of protein amount of each individual patient. Protein samples were analyzed by a linear trap quadrupol Orbitrap Mass Spectrometry device with an upstream liquid chromatography system. The obtained raw data were analyzed using the Maxquant proteome software and compared. Proteins with a fold-change ratio higher than a cut-off of 2 were considered as noticeably ***: A total number of 175 proteins could be identified out of the AH from POAG and cataract by means of quantitative mass spectrometric analysis. Apolipoprotein D(fold change, 3.16 times), complement C3(2.96), pigment epithelium-derived factor(2.86), dickkopf-related protein 3(2.18) and wingless-related integration(Wnt) inhibitory factor 1(2.35) were significantly upregulated within the AH of glaucoma compared to cataract serving as ***: AH provides a tool to analyze changes in glaucoma and shows striking changes in Wnt signaling inhibitory molecules and other proteins.
