Designing and/or searching for novel antioxidants against oxygen glucose effective strategy for the treatment of human isdlemic stroke. Selenium is deprivation （OGD）-induced oxidative damage represents an an essential trace dement, which is beneficial in the chemo- prevention and chemotherapy of cerebral ischemic stroke. The underlying mechanisms for its therapeutic effects, however, are not well documented. Selenocysteine （SeC） is a selenium-containing amino acid with neuroprotective potential. Studies have shown that SeC can reduce irradiation-induced DNA apoptosis by reducing DNA damage. In this study, the in vitro protective potential and mechanism of action of SeC against OGD-induced apoptosis and neurotoxicity were evaluated in HT22 mouse hippocampal neurons. We cultured HT22 cells in a glucose-free medium containing 2 mM Na2S402, which formed an OGD environment, for 90 minutes. Findings from MTT, flow cytometry and TUNEL staining showed obvious cytotoxicity and apoptosis in HT22 cells in the OGD condition. The activation of Caspa se-7 and Caspase-9 further revealed that OGD-induced apoptosis of HT22 cells was mainly achieved by triggering a mitochondrial-medi- ated pathway. Moreover, the OGD condition also induced serious DNA damage through the accumulation of reactive oxygen species and superoxide anions. However, SeC pre-treatment for 6 hours effectively inhibited OGD-induced cytotoxicity and apoptosis in HT22 cells by inhibiting reactive oxygen species-mediated oxidative damage. our findings provide evidence that SeC has the potential to suppress OGD-induced oxidative damage and apoptosis in hippocampal neurons.

This study aimed to exploit a new virtual block method to spare normal lung tissue in VMAT planning for patients with locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer(LA-NSCLC).The previous method was used to manually restrict the angle of the beam passing through,which ignored the location and shape of large targets that varied between different slices and did not block the beamlets *** the previous method,this new virtual block method was used to block the beamlets when necessary by closing the multi-leaf collimator(MLC)at prerequisite *** algorithm for closing the MLC depended on the thickness of the beamlets passing through the lungs and avoided only the entrance radiation ***,this block can be automatically contoured.A retrospective study was performed to compare the VMAT plans with and without the virtual block method for 17 LANSCLC patients,named the block plan(B-plan)/non-block plan(N-plan).All cases were selected in this study because of the large tumor size and unmet dose constraints of the *** addition to the maximum dose constraint for the virtual block,B-plans adopted identical optimization parameters to N-plans for each *** two types of plans were compared in terms of dosimetric indices and plan *** results were statistically analyzed using the Wilcoxon nonparametric signed-rank test.B-plans have advantages in the following dosimetric metrics that have statistical significance(phe contralateral lung;(3)decrease in Dmean/V_(40)of the heart;(4)decrease in esophagus V_(40);(5)reductions in Dmean,V_(5)/V_(10) of normal tissue.B-plans(82.51±7.07)achieved higher-quality scores than N-plans(80.74±7.22).The new virtual block spared the lungs as well as other normal structures in VMAT planning for ***,the block method may decrease the risk of radiation-related toxicity in p

提出了一种基于掺Er光纤放大器(EDFA)的光纤环结构可调谐微波光子滤波器。在光纤环结构中引入掺Er光纤(EDF),通过增加泵浦功率提供增益来补偿器件损耗,从而增加了信号的有效采样数,大大改善了滤波器的性能。在泵浦功率为42.7 mW时,实现了通带3 dB带宽为0.15 MHz、Q值为100和抑制比为20 dB的微波光子滤波器。进一步通过在光纤环结构中引入可调光纤延迟线(TODL),实现了可调谐微波滤波器。

BACKGRouND Gastrointestinal xanthomas are asymptomatic and infrequent non-neoplastic lesions that commonly occur in the stomach with helicobacter pylori-associated gastritis and rarely in the *** date,there have been no reports of esophageal xanthoma combined with esophageal ***,we present the first case in the literature of a diffuse xanthoma complicated with early esophageal ***,this combination makes the endoscopic diagnosis difficult if it is not in *** SUMMARY A 68-year-old man visited our department with a 2-mo history of epigastric *** underwent surgery for gastric cancer 6 years *** showed a semi-circumferential irregular yellowish-colored and granular lesion in the esophagus(30-35 cm from the incisors).Using magnifying endoscopy with narrow band imaging,aggregated minute and yellowish-colored spots with tortuous microvessels on the surface were observed,and background coloration was clearly seen in the *** endoscopic biopsy suggested a histologically high-grade dysplasia;the lesion was completely resected en bloc by endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD).The resected specimen was confirmed to be a squamous cell carcinoma in situ with extensive foamy cells in the superficial mucosal ***,the observed foamy cells were strongly positive for CD68,which is characteristic of *** clinical course was favorable,and no recurrence was observed 2 years and 7 mo after *** xanthoma concurrent with early esophageal cancer is extremely *** characteristic endoscopic features may assist endoscopists in diagnosing similar lesions.

Amplicon sequencing of functional genes is a powerful technique to explore the diversity and abundance of microbes involved in biogeochemical processes. One such key process, denitrification, is of particular importance because it can transform nitrate(NO3-) to N2 gas that is released to the atmosphere. In nitrogen limited alpine wetlands, assessing bacterial denitrification under the stress of wetland desertification is fundamental to understand nutrients, especially nitrogen cycling in alpine wetlands, and thus imperative for the maintenance of healthy alpine wetland ecosystems. We applied amplicon sequencing of the nirS gene to analyze the response of denitrifying bacterial community to alpine wetland desertification in Zoige, China. Raw reads were processed for quality, translated with frameshift correction, and a total of 95,316 nirS gene sequences were used for rarefaction analysis, and 1011 OTUs were detected and used in downstream analysis. Compared to the pristine swamp soil, edaphic parameters including water content, organic carbon, total nitrogen, total phosphorous, available nitrogen, available phosphorous and potential denitrification rate were significantly decreased in the moderately degraded meadow soil and in severely degraded sandy soil. Diversity of the soil nirS-type denitrifying bacteria communities increased along the Zoige wetland desertification, and Proteobacteria and Chloroflexi were the dominant denitrifying bacterial species. Genus Cupriavidus(formerly Wautersia), Azoarcus, Azospira, Thiothrix, and Rhizobiales were significantly(Phe wetland desertification succession. Soil available phosphorous was the key determinant of the composition of the nirS gene containing denitrifying bacterial communities. The proportion of depleted taxa increased along the desertification of the Zoige wetland, suggesting that wetland desertification created specific physicochemical conditions that decreased the microhabitats for bacteria

Dear Editor,Corneal endotheliitis,first reported in 1982 as an autoimmune disorder by Khodadoust and Attarzadeh[1],is now recognized to be frequently induced by viral infections,including varicella zoster virus(VZV),cytomegalovirus(CMV)and herpes simplex virus(HSV),that can cause inflammatory and immune-related injuries or direct damages to corneal endothelial cells[2-3].In cases with this type of endotheliitis of viral origin,manifestations may include conjunctival ciliary congestion or mixed congestion,corneal subepithelial bulla,localized corneal edema,keratic precipitates(KP)characteristic to the edema area,puckered posterior elastic lamina,mild anterior chamber reaction,intraocular pressure(IOP)elevation in presence of inflammation in trabecular meshwork,and endothelial decompensation[3-4].Accurate diagnosis of viral corneal endotheliitis is challenging due to its complex presentation,leading to a high misdiagnosis *** the best of our knowledge,there was no previous report of viral corneal endotheliitis presenting with corneal endothelial defects in the English literature.

AIM: To investigate the dynamic features of insulin-like growth factor-I receptor (IGF-IR) expression in rat hepatocarcinogenesis, and the relationship between IGF-IR and hepatocytes malignant transformation at mRNA or protein level.METHODS: hepatoma models were made by inducing with 2-fluorenylacetamide (2-FAA) on male Sprague-dawley rats. Morphological changes of hepatocytes were observed by pathological hematoxylin and eosin staining, the dynamic expressions of liver and serum IGF-IR were quantitatively analyzed by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The distribution of hepatic IGF-IR was located by immunohistochemistry. The fragments of IGF-IR gene were amplified by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, and confirmed by sequencing.RESULTS: Rat hepatocytes after induced by 2-FAA were changed dynamically from granule-like degeneration, precancerous to hepatoma formation with the progressing increasing of hepatic mRNA or IGF-IR expression. The incidences of liver IGF-IR, IGF-IR mRNA, specific IGF-IR concentration (ng/mg wet liver), and serum IGF-IR level (ng/mL) were 0.0%, 0.0%, 0.63 ± 0.17, and 1.33 ± 0.47 in the control; 50.0%, 61.1%, 0.65 ± 0.2, and 1.51 ± 0.46 in the degeneration; 88.9%, 100%, 0.66 ± 0.14, and 1.92 ± 0.29 in the precancerosis; and 100%, 100%, 0.96 ± 0.09, and 2.43 ± 0.57 in the cancerous group, respectively. IGF-IR expression in the cancerous group was significantly higher (P her groups at mRNA or protein level. The closely positive IGF-IR relationship was found between livers and sera (r = 0.91, t = 14.222, P hepatocarcinogenesis and its abnormality should be an early marker for hepatocytes malignant transformation.
