Water samples were collected and analyzed in high water season (July 1997) and in middle water season (October, 1997) from two main lower reach gauge stations of the Zhujiang (Pearl) River, namely Hekou and Makou, respectively. Content of particulate organic carbon is always higher than that of dissolved organic carbon in both seasons, which is obviously different from the global average pattern, i.e. dissolved organic carbon is the dominant component of the transported riverine organic carbon. The content of dissolved and particulate organic carbon changes with the water levels in a direct ratio. The percentage of organic carbon in total suspended substance changes with the content of total suspended substance in an inverse ratio. The more intense is the soil erosion in the drainage, the more concentrated is the riverine organic carbon in the river. The contribution of autochthonous organic carbon is larger in high water season than in middle water season.

BACKGROUND The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR)and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio(PLR)are novel inflammatory indicators that can be used to predict the severity and prognosis of various *** categorize acute pancreatitis by etiology into acute biliary pancreatitis(ABP)and hypertriglyceridemia-induced acute pancreatitis(HTGP).AIM To investigate the clinical significance of NLR and PLR in assessing persistent organ failure(POF)in HTGP and *** A total of 1450 patients diagnosed with acute pancreatitis(AP)for the first time at Shanxi Bethune Hospital between January 2012 and January 2023 were *** patients were categorized into two groups according to the etiology of AP:ABP in 530 patients and HTGP in 241 *** collected and compared the clinical data of the patients,including NLR,PLR,and AP prognostic scoring systems,within 48 h of hospital *** The NLR(9.1 vs 6.9,Pmodified computed tomography severity index score≥4,Japanese Severity Score≥3,and modified Marshall score≥***,NLR and PLR showed predictive value for the development of POF in both the ABP and HTGP *** NLR and PLR vary between ABP and HTGP,are strongly associated with AP prognostic scoring systems,and have predictive potential for the occurrence of POF in both ABP and HTGP.

The melt memory effect is a widely observed phenomenon in semi-crystalline polymers. In practical applications, various additives are usually introduced into polymers, which may affect their melt memory behavior. In this work, the effect of talc on the melt memory effect of metallocene-made isotactic polypropylene(M-PP) was investigated in detail by using the differential scanning calorimetry. The results indicated that the introduction of talc significantly strengthened the melt memory effect of M-PP. Specifically, the upper limit temperature of Domain II increased from 161 ℃ to 174 ℃, resulting in a substantial widening of the temperature range of Domain IIa from 1 ℃ to 14 ℃. Analysis of the crystal orientation of the M-PP containing talc cooled from various Ts suggested that the remarkably enhanced melt memory effect could be ascribed to the stabilization of oriented nuclei facilitated by talc. This stabilizing effect was likely attributable to the prefreezing effect or the sorption interaction between talc and the M-PP chains.

Electrocatalytic synthesis of ammonia as an environment-friendly and sustainable development method has received widespread attention in recent ***-dimensional(2D)materials are a promising catalyst for ammonia synthesis due to their large surface *** this work,we have constructed a series of 2D metal borides(MBenes)with transition metal(TM)defects(TMd-MBenes)and comprehensively calculated the reactivity of electrocatalytic synthesis of ammonia-based on density functional *** results have demonstrated that the TMd-MBenes can effectively activate nitrogen oxide(NO)and nitrogen(N2)molecules *** interesting,the co-chemisorption of O atoms,dissociated from NO,can facilitate the spilled of the inert N2 molecules into single N atoms,which can further hydrogenate into ammonia easily with an ultralow limiting potential of 0.59 V on *** research has not only provided clues for catalyst design for experimental study but also paved the way for the industrial application of electrocatalytic ammonia synthesis.

Diamond/aluminium composites have attracted attention in the field of thermal management of electronic packaging for their excellent *** order to solve the interfacial problem between diamond and aluminium,a novel process combining pressure infiltration with vacuum-assisted technology was proposed to prepare diamond/aluminum *** effect of diamond particle size on the microstructure and properties of the diamond/Al-12Si composites was *** results show that the diamond/Al-12Si composites exhibit high relative density and a uniform *** thermal conductivity and coefficient of thermal expansion increase with increasing particle size,while the bending strength exhibits the opposite *** the average diamond particle size increases from 45μm to 425μm,the thermal conductivity of the composites increases from 455 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)to 713 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)and the coefficient of thermal expansion increases from 4.97×10^(-6)K^(-1)to 6.72×10^(-6)K^(-1),while the bending strength decreases from 353 MPa to 246 *** research demonstrates that high-quality composites can be prepared by the vacuum-assisted pressure infiltration process and the thermal conductivity of the composites can be effectively improved by increasing the diamond particle size.

Alkene hydrosilylation is one of the most concise and atom-economical methods to synthesize organosilicon ***,we reported the precise immobilization of metal single atoms(M-SAs;M=Ru,Rh,Ir,Pd,Pt,and Au)into a porphyrinic metalorganic framework(moF)of PCN-222(PCN=porous coordination network),and then applied the resultant moF composites of M-SAs@PCN-222 to alkene *** solvent-free conditions,Pt-SAs@PCN-222 displayed an especially high catalytic efficiency with the turnover frequency up to 119 s−1 and the maximum turnover number of 906,250 at room *** and theoretical studies revealed that there existed strong interactions between Pt-SAs@PCN-222 and the substrates,which helped to condense the substrates in the cavities of the porous *** density functional theory calculations and molecular dynamics simulations disclosed that PCN-222 could transfer electrons to Pt-SAs to enhance the silane oxidative addition and drive the reaction to proceed smoothly via Chalk–Harrod pathway.
