Ferromagnetic quantum critical points were predicted to be prohibited in clean itinerant ferromagnetic systems,yet such a phenomenon was recently revealed in CeRh_(6)Ge_(4),where the Curie temperature can be continuously suppressed to zero under a moderate hydrostatic *** we report the observation of quantum oscillations in CeRh_(6)Ge_(4)from measurements using the cantilever and tunnel-diode oscillator methods in fields up to 45 T,clearly demonstrating that the ferromagnetic quantum criticality occurs in a clean *** order to map the Fermi surface of CeRh_(6)Ge_(4),we performed angle-dependent measurements of quantum oscillations at ambient pressure,and compared the results to density functional theory *** results are consistent with the Ce 4f electrons remaining localized and not contributing to the Fermi surface,suggesting that localized ferromagnetism is a key factor for the occurrence of a ferromagnetic quantum critical point in CeRh_(6)Ge_(4).

A decadal change in summer rainfall in the Asian inland plateau（AIP） region is identified around 1999. This decadal change is characterized by an abrupt decrease in summer rainfall of about 15.7% of the climatological average amount,leading to prolonged drought in the Asian inland plateau region. Both the surface air temperature and potential evapotranspiration in the AIP show a significant increase, while the soil moisture exhibits a decrease, after the late 1990s. Furthermore,the normalized difference vegetation index shows an apparent decreasing trend during 1999–2007. Three different drought indices—the standardized precipitation index, the standardized precipitation evapotranspiration index, and the self-calibrating Palmer drought severity index—present pronounced climate anomalies during 1999–2007, indicating dramatic drought exacerbation in the region after the late 1990s. This decadal change in the summer rainfall may be attributable to a wave-like teleconnection pattern from Western Europe to Asia. A set of model sensitivity experiments suggests that the summer warming sea surface temperature in the North Atlantic could induce this teleconnection pattern over Eurasia, resulting in recent drought in the AIP region.

Objective:Neonates with congenital heart disease(CHD)and perinatal stroke have high mortality and survivors are at risk for poor long-term neurodevelopmental *** aim of this study was to assess the risk factors and outcome of neonates with both CHD and MRI-confirmed perinatal stroke(Study Group)and compare those to the risk factors and outcome of infants matched for CHD without stroke(Control-1)and of infants matched for MRI-confirmed stroke without CHD(Control-2).Methods:We conducted a population-based case-control study enrolling 28 term neonates with CHD and MRI-confirmed acute perinatal stroke born between 2007–2017 in the Central-Hungarian *** of the control groups included 56 *** Bayley Scales of Infant Development-II,the Brunet-Lézine test and the Binet Intelligence scales-V were used for neurodevelopmental follow-up at a median age of 61 ***:Mortality was highest in the Study Group(25%compared to 5%and 2%,respectively,p=0.001).Adverse neurodevelopmental outcome was prevalent in the Study(53%)and Control-2 Groups(52%,p=0.03).Significantly different parameters among the three groups included Apgar scores,mode of delivery,gestational age at birth,cardiac interventions and twin *** a multivariable regression analysis adjusted for clinically relevant parameters,patients in the Study Group had significantly higher odds for mortality compared to patients in the Control-1 Group(OR:6.595%CI:1.1–39.4).Conclusions:Neonates with perinatal stroke and CHD are at a higher risk for dying compared to neonates with CHD without *** addition,the stroke-associated direct insult to the brain likely plays an important role in the development of neurodevelopmental morbidity in these patients.
