Study on Cytokines IL-2,IL-6,IL-10 in Patients of Chronic Allergic Rhinitis Treated with Acupuncture

OBJECTIVES: To observe the plasmatic concentration of IL-6, IL-10 and IL-2 in the patient of chronic allergic rhinitis before and after acupuncture therapy. mETHOdS: Cytokine levels were determined before and after treatment in 30 healthy volunteers (Group A) and 90 patients of chronic allergic rhinitis (Group B) with an increased plasma IL-10 level. Group B was then divided into 3 subgroups: 30 patients treated with real acupuncture (Group B1); 30 patients treated with sham acupuncture (Group B2); 30 non-treated patients (Group B3). Secondary lignocellulosic biomass has proved to be useful as an energy source through its oxidation by means of combustion *** accordance with the above,in this paper,we wanted to study the ash from urban pruning residues that are generated in cities in the *** such as Licania tomentosa,Azadirachta indica,Ficus benjamina,Terminalia catappa,Leucaena leucocephala,Prosopis juliflora and Pithecellobium dulce were selected because they have been previously studied and showed potential for thermal energy *** materials were calcined in an oxidizing atmosphere and characterized by X-ray diffraction and fluorescence,scanning electron microscopy with microchemistry,BET surface area,thermal gravimetric analysis,and differential scanning *** ph and apparent density were also *** results show high basicity materials(average ph 10),a behavior associated with the presence of chemical elements such as calcium,potassium,magnesium,chlorine,phosphorus,and ***,these materials have a very significant amorphous fraction(between 49%and 74.5%),the dominant crystalline phases are calcite,arcanite,sylvite,and *** ashes have low surface area and do not exceed 13 m^(2)/*** characteristic morphological aspects were observed in these ashes:a morphology of rounded grains where silicon content is highlighted,and lamellar morphologies where the presence of chlorine is ***,these ashes show four significant mass loss events(400℃,430℃,680℃,and 920℃),causing mass losses that vary between 25%and 40%.Through this study,it was possible to establish that,from a chemical point of view,these ashes are less dangerous in comparison with those of a mineral coal that was used as a ***,they require additional treatments for their disposal due to their high *** of their composition,these ashes have the potential to be used in the ceramic and cement industries,and in the manuf

The diversity of Chrysophycean Algae in an Arctic Zone of River and Sea Water mixing, Russia

According to the results of studies in the region of lower Yenisei River to the Kara Sea shelf in September 2009, the flora of chrysophyte algae in the zone of river and sea water mixing comprises 43 species of the classes Chrysophyceae and Synurophyceae. most of them are cosmopolitan and widespread, but four rare species have also been recorded. The most frequent species are Synura petersenii f. petersenii, S. petersenii f. kufferathii, Spiniferomonas takahashii, mallomonas acaroides, and m. crassisquama. The composition of chrysophyte flora in the study region is similar to that in some lakes of the Taimyr Peninsula. It has been found that the diversity of chrysophytes in the zone of river and sea water mixing depends on water salinity, with a group of species occurring at increased salinity levels. It includes Chrysosphaerella coronacircumspina (5.2‰), Kephyrion spirale (5.2‰) and mallomonas crassisquama (8‰). These data contribute to knowledge of how the distribution of chrysophytes responds to changes in ecological conditions such as water salinity, turbidity, ph, and concentrations of oxygen and mineral phosphorus.

Soil microbial response to waste potassium silicate drilling fluid

Potassium silicate drilling fluids （PSdF） are a waste product of the oil and gas industry with potential for use in land reclamation. Few studies have examined the influence of PSdF on abundance and composition of soil bacteria and fungi. Soils from three representative locations for PSdF application in Alberta, Canada, with clay loam, loam and sand textures were studied with applications of unused, used once and used twice PSdF. For all three soils, applying ≥40 m^3/ha of used PSdF significantly affected the existing soil microbial flora. No microbiota was detected in unused PSdF without soil. Adding used PSdF to soil significantly increased total fungal and aerobic bacterial colony forming units in dilution plate counts, and anaerobic denitrifying bacteria numbers in serial growth experiments. Used PSdF altered bacterial and fungal colony forming unit ratios of all three soils.

maternal Supplementation of Vitamin d during Lactation to Support Infant Vitamin d Needs: A Systematic Review

Human milk is generally considered to be insufficient in vitamin d. However, research completed in the 1980s showed that the vitamin d content of human milk is directly related to maternal serum vitamin d levels and therefore may potentially be adequate if the mother’s vitamin d levels are sufficient. Approximately one-third of the adult population, which includes breastfeeding women, in the United States have vitamin d insufficiency or deficiency. Among infants, 90.4% of breastfed infants are vitamin d deficient compared to 15.4% of formula fed infants. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has therefore recommended all breastfed infants be directly supplemented with 400 IU per day of vitamin d to decrease the risk of vitamin d insufficiency and rickets. According to the AAP, compliance rates with this recommendation ranges between 2% - 36%. Because the recommendation to supplement may undermine breastfeeding, many pediatricians do not inform their patients of the need to supplement. Additionally, some parents are concerned about directly supplementing their infant as risks may include allergic reactions to the ingredients, aspiration pneumonia, accidental overdose, and changes in intestinal flora and ph which may compromise the immune benefits of human milk. A literature review was conducted to examine the effect of maternal supplementation with vitamin d during lactation on human milk vitamin d content and maternal and infant serum vitamin d levels. Although there is no current consensus regarding dosage and timing of maternal vitamin d supplementation, the literature suggests that high-dose vitamin d supplementation of the lactating mother is as effective at maintaining infant vitamin d levels as direct infant supplementation, while also correcting the mother’s vitamin d deficiency.
