The present paper concentrates on the study of reflection and refraction phenomena of waves in pyroelectric and piezo-electric media under initial stresses and two relaxation times influence by apply suitable conditions. The generalized theories of linear piezo-thermoelasticity have been employed to investigate the problem. In two-dimensional model of transversely isotropic piezothermoelastic medium, there are four types of plane waves quasi-longitudinal (qP), quasi-transverse (qSV), thermal wave (T-mode), and potential electric waves (φ-mode) The amplitude ratios of reflection and refraction waves have been obtained. Finally, the results in each case are presented graphically.

Rare earth-doped spinel nano ferrites are attaining importance as heterogeneous nanocatalysts for the degradation of organic *** earth metal doping increases the electrical and optical properties,as well as the surface-to-volume ratio of the bare *** this work,NiFe_(2)O_(4)(NF) and Nd-NiFe_(2)O_(4)(NF-1) were successfully synthesized via the co-precipitation *** nanotubes(CNT)-based nanocomposite(NF-2) was prepared using the ultra-sonication *** prepared materials were analyzed via various physiochemical *** degradation efficiency of these materials was analyzed for the degradation of Rhodamine B,methylene blue,and benzoic acid,NF-2 shows the highest efficiency among all the prepared ***-2 shows 83.87%,90.80%,and 66.96% degradation of Rhodamine B,methylene blue,and benzoic acid,*** reason for the superior activity of NF-2 is the existence of rare earth Nd ions and *** surface area of NF increases due to the presence of carbon nanotubes and enhanced surface area provides more active sites for the degradation reaction.

One-dimensional photonic crystals (1D PhCs) have a unique ability to control the propagation of light waves, however certain classes of 1D oxides remain relatively unexplored for use as PhCs. Specifically, there has not been a comparative study of the three different 1D PhC structures to compare the influence of layer thickness, number, and refractive index on the ability of the PhCs to control light transmission. Herein, we use the transfer matrix method (TMM) to theoretically examine the transmission of 1D PhCs composed of layers of TiO2/SiO2, TiO2/SnO2, SiO2/SnO2, and combinations of the three with various top and bottom layer thicknesses to cover a substantial region of the electromagnetic spectrum (UV to NIR). With increasing layer numbers for TiO2/SiO2 and SiO2/SnO2, the edges became sharper and wider and the photonic bandgap width increased. Moreover, we demonstrated that PhCs with significantly thick TiO2/SiO2 layers had a high transmittance for a wide bandgap, allowing for wide-band optical filter applications. These different PhC architectures could enable a variety of applications, depending on the properties needed.

This study was an attempt to examine the relationship between Iranian EFL （English as Foreign Language） learners＇ depth of vocabulary knowledge and their lexical inferencing strategy use and success. The participants in this study were 32 intermediate senior students of Shiraz Azad University majoring in English translation. The Word Associates Test （WAT）（Read, 1993） was used to measure their depth of vocabulary knowledge and lexical inferencing strategy questionnaire which was part of Schmitt （1997）, vocabulary learning strategies as well as a reading passage （Haastrup, 1999）, cited in Nassaji （2004）, were used to determine their lexical inferencing strategy use and success. Results indicate that：（1） Those who have stronger depth of vocabulary knowledge use certain strategies more frequently than those who have weaker depth of vocabulary knowledge; （2） The students with stronger depth of vocabulary knowledge make more effective use of certain types of lexical inferencing strategies. These findings support the importance of depth dimension of vocabulary knowledge and the role it plays in guessing the meaning of unknown words.

Correct conceptualizations of genetics and genomics are central to understand many aspects of the STEM disciplines as they provide the foundational building blocks for later work in the life sciences. Our study of 435 African American college students investigated the use of culturally- relevant memes transmitted using multiple intelligence (MI) modalities to convey core genetic and genomic information as an alternative to the traditional teaching approaches. We observed that this approach appears to optimize the transmission and retention of core genetics concepts, identify and correct misconceptions, and serve as a conduit to increased African American (AA) access to further studies in STEM disciplines. A review of the relevant literature and specific examples of our interventions and their MI links are provided.
