Training of emergency physicians through an emergency medicine residency program takes 5 years,that is,3 years in junior residency and 2 years in senior *** this period,residents will be exposed to a variety of educational methodologies and meet a spectrum of faculty,supervisors,and teachers,who will have different personalities,styles,and approaches to teaching and nurturing *** is important to ensure the maintenance of psychological safety for these residents throughout their training journey and into the future years of practice s an emergency ***,interactions(which involve questioning),and presentations will be an important part of this training *** article looks at two modes of questioning:advocacy inquiry and circular questioning,which can be applied as *** two methods are examples in which faculty may consider adopting in their many interactions,follow-up,feedback,tutorials,facilitation,partnerships,and counseling sessions with *** two techniques offer options to maintain psychological safety,which can facilitate learners sharing and opening *** can be included in the faculty’s armamentarium of questioning techniques and applied where applicable.

BACKGROUND:This study aimed to review bicycle-related injuries during the COVID-19 pandemic to assist with reinforcement or implementation of new policies for injury ***:This is a retrospective descriptive analysis of injuries sustained during cycling for patients 18 years old and above who presented to Singapore General Hospital from January to June *** records were reviewed and *** analyses were used to summarize patient characteristics,and differences in characteristics subgrouped by triage acuity and discharge status were ***:The study included 272 patients with a mean age of 43 years and a male predominance(71.7%).Most presented without referrals(88.2%)and were not conveyed by ambulances(70.6%).Based on acuity category,there were 24(8.8%)Priority 1(P1)patients with 7 trauma activations,174(64.0%)and 74(27.2%)P2 and P3 patients *** most common injuries were fractures(34.2%),followed by superficial abrasion/contusion(29.4%)and laceration/wound(19.1%).Thirteen(4.8%)patients experienced head injury and 85 patients(31.3%)were documented to be wearing a *** majority occurred on the roads as traffic accidents(32.7%).Forty-two patients(15.4%)were admitted with a mean length of stay of 4.1 d and 17(6.3%)undergone surgical *** of 214(78.7%)discharged patients,no re-attendances or mortality were *** the subgroup analysis,higher acuity patients were generally older,with higher proportions of head injuries leading to ***:Our study highlights significant morbidities in bicycle-related *** is also a high proportion of fractures in the young healthy male *** prevention is paramount and we propose emphasizing helmet use and road user safety.

BACKGROUND Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)have been extensively studied for therapeutic potential,due to their regenerative and immunomodulatory *** passage and stress factors may affect the biological characteristics of MSCs,but the details of these effects have not been recognized *** To investigate the effects of stress factors(high glucose and severe hypoxia)on the biological characteristics of MSCs at different passages,in order to optimize the therapeutic applications of *** In this study,we investigated the impact of two stress conditions;severe hypoxia and high glucose on human adipose-tissue derived MSCs(hAD-MSCs)at passages 6(P6),P8,and ***,senescence and apoptosis were evaluated measuring WST-1,senescence-associated beta-galactosidase,and annexin V,*** Cells at P6 showed decreased proliferation and increased apoptosis under conditions of high glucose and hypoxia compared to control,while the extent of senescence did not change significantly under stress *** P8 hAD-MSCs cultured in stress conditions had a significant decrease in proliferation and apoptosis and a significant increase in senescence compared to counterpart cells at *** cultured in high glucose at P10 had lower proliferation and higher senescence than their counterparts in the previous passage,while no change in apoptosis was *** the other hand,MSCs cultured under hypoxia showed decreased senescence,increased apoptosis and no significant change in proliferation when compared to the same conditions at *** These results indicate that stress factors had distinct effects on the biological processes of MSCs at different passages,and suggest that senescence may be a protective mechanism for MSCs to survive under stress conditions at higher passage numbers.

This paper explores the integration of persuasive technology into smoking cessation efforts through the development and evaluation of a mobile app, “No-Smoke.” Leveraging compelling features like social support, tracking, planning, and motivation, the app aims to augment user engagement and support the process of quitting smoking. The efficacy of these features has been substantiated through both automated testing and user feedback, highlighting their potential to enhance awareness, motivation, and behavior modification. Despite notable successes, limitations, including a limited user base and uncertainties regarding long-term efficacy, have been acknowledged, stemming from the inherent complexities of smoking cessation. Nevertheless, based on user experiences and feedback, “No-Smoke” represents a promising advancement in the use of technology for public health interventions, particularly in the realm of smoking cessation. To address existing challenges, future research is recommended to encompass a comprehensive, long-term study involving a larger and more diverse user base. Additionally, further investigation should focus on personalization enhancements and the integration of machine learning algorithms to better understand and respond to user behavior.

Promoting Ethical Sensitivity in Nursing Education:A Systematic Review of Case Study-Based Health Education

Introduction: Nursing ethical sensitivity refers to a nurse’s capacity for thoughtful consideration of ethical issues when faced with dilemmas. In the nursing domain, ethical dilemmas arise when nurses face challenges in making sound ethical decisions during clinical practice. These challenges may stem from conflicts between personal values and professional responsibilities. Methodology: Articles downloaded from Pub Med, CNKI, and Google Scholar were reviewed. Results: After rigorous screening, a meticulous analysis was conducted, encompassing 10 articles and involving a substantial cohort of 2863 participants. Existing literature revealed variations in the ethical dilemmas faced by nurses across different departments. The ethical sensitivity of nurses also varies, with higher ethical sensitivity correlating with stronger empathetic abilities. Zhen et al. classified the causes of ethical dilemmas into four main categories: (1) Ethical dilemmas arising from personal reasons of nursing students;(2) Ethical dilemmas stemming from the actions of teachers;(3) Ethical dilemmas triggered by patients;(4) Ethical dilemmas resulting from miscellaneous reasons. Conclusion: According to literature findings, nursing ethical sensitivity was positively linked to the nurse’s ethical decision-making ability. A case study-oriented teaching program has proven effective in enhancing ethical sensitivity among nursing students.

Proliferation of technology,coupled with networking growth,has catapulted cybersecurity to the forefront of modern security *** this landscape,the precise detection of cyberattacks and anomalies within networks is crucial,necessitating the development of efficient intrusion detection systems(IDS).This article introduces a framework utilizing the fusion of fuzzy sets with support vector machines(SVM),named *** core strategy of FSVM lies in calculating the significance of network features to determine their relative *** with minimal significance are prudently disregarded,a method akin to feature *** process not only curtails the computational burden of the classification algorithm but also ensures the preservation of high accuracy *** ascertain the efficacy of the FSVM model,we have employed a publicly available dataset from Kaggle,which encompasses two distinct decision *** evaluation methodology involves a comprehensive comparison of the classification accuracy of the processed dataset against four contemporary models in the *** performance metrics scores are meticulously calculated for each *** comparative analysis reveals that the FSVM model demonstrates a marked superiority over its counterparts,enhancing classification accuracy by a minimum of 3%.These findings underscore the FSVM model’s robustness and reliability,positioning it as a highly effective tool in the realm of cybersecurity.

Background:Jaundea pinnata(JP),is a new plant native to North Africa,East Africa,Southern Nigeria,and *** is traditionally used as an anti-rheumatic,anti-inflammatory,antibacterial and antidiabetic herb,thus making it a potential source for modern antidiabetic ***:This investigation aimed to assess the toxicological profile and the antidiabetic potentials of the methanol extract of the Jaundea pinnata(JP)leaf in mice and ***:Preliminary phytochemical screening of JP leaf was conducted using standard *** plant extract’s acute and sub-chronic toxicity was evaluated using a modified OECD *** normal and streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats,its anti-diabetic action was tested over 28 days at doses of 100 mg/kg,200 mg/kg,and 400 mg/kg,with glibenclamide(10 mg/kg)and distilled water serving as the positive and negative controls,*** organs’histopathological analysis was also ***:According to the preliminary phytochemical analysis of the leaf extract,JP contains flavonoids,saponins,alkaloids,tannins,terpenoids,deoxy-sugars,and *** extract demonstrated an LD50 of above 2000 mg/kg in *** days 14,21,and 28 in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats,the extract showed a dosedependent antidiabetic effect;nevertheless,the activity of the extract at 400 mg/kg on day 28 was barely comparable to that of glibenclamide(10 mg/kg).At 250 mg/kg,500 mg/kg,and 1500 mg/kg,respectively,the extract was appreciably non-toxic to the liver and kidney,while inducing a significant change in haematological ***:The study found that JP presented antihyperglycemic properties and was relatively safe at normal dosages(<2000 mg/kg).

In this article we discuss the explicit solvability of both Schwarz boundary value problem and Riemann-Hilbert boundary value problem on a half hexagon in the complex plane. Schwarz-type and Pompeiu-type integrals are obtained. The boundary behavior of these operators is discussed. Finally, we investigate the Schwarz problem and the Riemann-Hilbert problem for inhomogeneous Cauchy-Riemann equations.
