We apply the local method of fundamental solutions (LMFS) to boundary value problems (BVPs) for the Laplace and homogeneous biharmonic equations in annuli. By appropriately choosing the collocation points, the LMFS discretization yields sparse block circulant system matrices. As a result, matrix decomposition algorithms (MDAs) and fast Fourier transforms (FFTs) can be used for the solution of the systems resulting in considerable savings in both computational time and storage requirements. The accuracy of the method and its ability to solve large scale problems are demonstrated by applying it to several numerical experiments.

The conception drawing in architecture is that allows to initiate the architectural thinking,visualizing,and discovering the first *** drawing has traditionally been given as an act of linking and c.llaboration between thought,sight,and the movement of the hands with a *** and recognizing its characteristics will make it possible to deal with any mediation of information *** establish such characteristics,three case studies were carried *** analysis was made of the conception drawings and interviews by the Pritzker Prize laureates:Ando,Hadid and *** condition and four characteristics have been determined:drawing is a phenomenological action that produces haptic drawings;it is an undecided process that originates unformed drawings;it is a fast action that results in small and multiplied drawings;it is a perceptual act that generates redrawn and remarked drawings;and finally,it is an action that seeks to remember to resume the creative process at another moment,which produces rudimentary conventional *** these before any technological mediation will be an important pedagogical contribution that will allow future architects not to alter the cognitive processes that generate the first ideas in the initial moments of the architectural project.

In Asia, the rice crop sustains millions of people. However, growing demand for this crop needs to be met while simultaneously reducing its water consumption to cope with the effects of climate change. Lowland cropping systems are the most common and productive but have particularly high water requirements. High-yielding rice genotypes adapted to drier environments(such as rainfed or aerobic rice ecosystems) are needed to increase the water use efficiency of cropping. Identifying these genotypes requires fast and more accurate selection methods. It is hypothesized that applying a new quantitative selection method(the score index selection method), can usefully compare rice yield responses over different years and stress intensities to select genotypes more rapidly and efficiently. Applying the score index to previously published rice yield data for 39 genotypes grown in no-stress and two stress environments, identified three genotypes(ARB 8, IR55419-04 and ARB 7) with higher and stable yield under moderate to severe stress conditions. These genotypes are postulated to be better adapted to stress environment such as upland and aerobic environments. Importantly, the score index selection method offers improved precision than the conventional breeding selection method in identifying genotypes that are well-suited to a range of stress levels within the target environment.

Efficient detection of single optical centres in solids is essential for quantum information processing, sensing and single-photon generation *** this work,we use radio-frequency（RF） reflectometry to electrically detect the photoionisation induced by a single Er3+ion in *** high bandwidth and sensitivity of the RF reflectometry provide sub-100-ns time resolution for the photoionisation *** this technique,the optically excited state lifetime of a single Er3+ion in a Si nano-transistor is measured for the first time to be 0.49±0.04μ*** results demonstrate an efficient approach for detecting a charge state change induced by Er excitation and *** approach could be used for fast readout of other single optical centres in solids and is attractive for large-scale integrated optical quantum systems thanks to the multi-channel RF reflectometry demonstrated with frequency multiplexing techniques.

Purpose:To investigate which scoring system is the most accurate tool in predicting mortality among the infected patients who present to the emergency department in a middle-income country,and to validate a new scoring system to predict bacterial ***:This was a retrospective,single-center study among patients who were admitted via the emergency department of a public *** patients who were started on antibiotics were included in the study,while patients agedcollected includeding patients'demographics,vital signs and basic laboratory parameters like white blood cell count and *** sensitivity and specificity of different scoring systems were calculated as well as their negative and positive predictive *** regression was used to derive a novel early warning system for bacterial *** area under the receiver operating characteristic(AUROc)was computed for each scoring ***:In total,109 patients were included in this *** quick sequential organ failure assessment(qSOFA),search out severity and rapid acute physiology score had the highest AUROc(≥0.89)for predicting mortality,while qSOFA and universal vital assessment were the simplest scoring systems with an AUROc>0.85;however,these scoring systems failed to predict whether patients were truly *** INFEcTIONS(short for impaired mental status,not conscious,fast heart rate,elevated creatinine,high temperature,on inotrope,low oxygen,high neutrophils and high sugar)model reached an AUROc of 0.88 to more accurately predict the infectious state of a ***:Middle-income countries should use the qSOFA or universal vital assessment score to identify the sickest patients in emergency *** INFEcTIONS score may help recognize patients with bacterial infections,but it should be further validated in multiple countries prior to widely use.

The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(fast) has passed national acceptance and finished one pilot cycle of ‘Shared-Risk’ observations. It will start formal operation soon. In this context, this paper describes testing results of key fundamental parameters for fast, aiming to provide basic support for observation and data reduction of fast for scientific researchers. The 19-beam receiver covering 1.05–1.45 GHz was utilized for most of these observations. The fluctuation in electronic gain of the system is better than 1% over 3.5 hours, enabling enough stability for observations. Pointing accuracy,aperture efficiency and system temperature are three key parameters for fast. The measured standard deviation of pointing accuracy is 7.9′′, which satisfies the initial design of fast. When zenith angle is less than 26.4°, the aperture efficiency and system temperature around 1.4 GHz are ~0.63 and less than 24 K for central beam, respectively. The sensitivity and stability of the 19-beam backend are confirmed to satisfy expectation by spectral HI observations toward NGc 672 and polarization observations toward 3 c 286. The performance allows fast to take sensitive observations for various scientific goals, from studies of pulsars to galaxy evolution.
