The main contribution in this article is threefold:(1)we show the necessary and sufficient condition for graphs to be fractional(g,f)-covered which can be expressed in different forms,and extended to fractional(g,f,m)-covered graphs;(2)the concept of fractional-critical covered graph is put forward and its necessary and sufficient condition is given;(3)we present the degree condition for a graph to be fractional(g,f,n′,m)-critical covered,and show that degree bound is sharp when m is ***,the related result in fractional((a,b,n′,m)-critical covered setting is also verified.

Drogue detection is one of the challenging tasks in autonomous aerial refueling due to the requirement for accuracy and *** detection based on image intrinsic cues can achieve fast detection,but with poor *** studies reveal that optimization-based methods provide accurate and quick solutions for saliency *** paper presents a hybrid pigeon-inspired optimization method,the optimized color opponent,that aims to adjust the weight of color opponent channels to detect the drogue *** can optimize the weights in the selected aerial refueling scene offline,and the results are applied for drogue detection in the scene.A novel algorithm aggregated by the optimized color opponent and robust background detection is presented to provide better precision and *** results on benchmark datasets and aerial refueling images show that the proposed method successfully extracts the saliency region or drogue and exhibits superior performance against the other saliency detection methods with intrinsic *** algorithm designed in this paper is competent for the drogue detection task of autonomous aerial refueling.

This study focuses on the analytical prediction of subsurface settlement induced by shield tunnelling in sandy cobble stratum considering the volumetric deformation modes of the soil above the tunnel crown.A series of numerical analyses is performed to examine the effects of cover depth ratio(C/D),tunnel volume loss rate(h t)and volumetric block proportion(VBP)on the characteristics of subsurface settle-ment trough and soil volume *** the ground loss variation with depth,three modes are deduced from the volumetric deformation responses of the soil above the tunnel ***,analytical solutions to predict subsurface settlement for each mode are presented using stochastic medium *** influences of C/D,h t and VBP on the key parameters(i.e.B and N)in the analytical expressions are discussed to determine the fitting formulae of B and ***,the proposed analytical solutions are validated by the comparisons with the results of model test and numerical *** show that the fitting formulae provide a convenient and reliable way to evaluate the key ***,the analytical solutions are reasonable and available in predicting the subsurface settlement induced by shield tunnelling in sandy cobble stratum.

Tropical cyclones over the Bay of Bengal(BoBTC)affect the precipitation over china,with distinct seasonal and daily *** study quantitatively examines the daily standardized precipitation anomalies(SPAs)over china on the days with BoBTC activities(storm-days)and related circulations,based on rainfall measurements at surface meteorological stations and ECMWF reanalysis data on a 0.25°×0.25°resolution during *** positive SPA is found over the stations in the two adjacent regions around BoB(Southwest china in May/November and southern Tibetan Plateau in October)and three distant regions(Southeast china and the northeastern boundary of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in May,and central North china in October).The SPA distributions are remarkably consistent with the integrated water vapor transport(IVT)*** IVT is found associated with the interaction between southwesterly(southerly)of the BoBTC circulation and low-level monsoonal flow in May(midlevel westerly in winter months).The probabilities of extreme precipitation(EP)occurrences over the above regions all increase on *** adjacent regions,EP is significantly correlated with the northward IVT anomalies to the east of BoBTC circulation,which strengthen the water vapor input through the southern *** IVT anomalies are stronger in May,benefited by the deep monsoonal southwesterlies than those in *** distant regions,EP is more closely related to the IVT anomaly extending back from *** moisture from BoB concentrates along a local low-level convergence line over Southeast china,being further facilitated by coexistence of the BoBTC depression and midlevel westerly trough in *** results highlight the interactions between BoBTCs and local weather systems that influence the general precipitation anomalies and occurrence of EP over china,especially over distant regions.

For the functional partially linear models including flexible nonparametric part and functional linear part,the estimators of the nonlinear function and the slope function have been studied in existing *** to test the correlation between response and explanatory variables,however,still seems to be ***,a test procedure for testing the linearity in the functional partially linear models will be proposed in this paper.A test statistic is constructed based on the existing estimators of the nonlinear and the slope ***,we prove that the approximately asymptotic distribution of the proposed statistic is a chi-squared distribution under some regularity ***,some simulation studies and a real data application are presented to demonstrate the performance of the proposed test statistic.

Why Are Arctic Sea Ice Concentration in September and Its Interannual Variability Well Predicted over the Barents–East Siberian Seas by CFSv2?

To further understand the prediction skill for the interannual variability of the sea ice concentration(SIC)in specific regions of the Arctic,this paper evaluates the NCEP Climate Forecast System version 2(CFSv2),in predicting the autumn SIC and its interannual variability over the Barents–East Siberian Seas(BES).It is found that CFSv2 presents much better prediction skill for the September SIC over BES than the Arctic as a whole at 1–6-month leads,and high prediction skill for the interannual variability of the SIC over BES is displayed at 1–2-month leads after removing the linear ***2 can reasonably reproduce the relationship between the SIC over BES in September and such factors as the surface air temperature(SAT),200-hPa geopotential height,sea surface temperature(SST),and North Atlantic *** addition,it is found that the prescribed SIC initial condition in August as an input to CFSv2 is also ***,the above atmospheric and oceanic factors,as well as an accurate initial condition of SIC,all contribute to a high prediction skill for SIC over BES in *** on a statistical prediction method,the contributions from individual predictability sources are further *** high prediction skill of CFSv2 for the interannual variability of SIC over BES is largely attributable to its accurate predictions of the SAT and SST,as well as a better initial condition of SIC.
