Brassinosteroids （BRs） are steroid plant hormones with important roles in plant growth and development through the regulation of processes such as cell division and expansion. In addition to their role as growth promoters, BRs can also protect plants from a va- riety of abiotic stresses, including drought, salt, heat, and cold stress. Nevertheless, the molecular determinants underlying this protective effect remain largely uncharacterized.

Gallbladder cancer(GBC)is a rare malignancy worldwide,with 140,000 new patients each year and more than 100,000 deaths *** review aims to address the controversial aspects of managing *** differences of the study worldwide remain pending,and comparative mutational profiles will provide more information on the pathogenesis of ***,certain pathologic aspects are discussed,such as the staging of early GBC,outcome differences between T2 pathologically staged patients,and the necessity of a uni-form pathologic *** surgical management of GBC is still under *** extent of liver resection,type of lymphadenectomy,and selection of patients for extended resection are aspects of the disease that require *** and robotic approaches were initially slow to ***,with time,they have demonstrated their value in the surgical management of *** OMEGA survey,performed to analyze the management practice of surgical treatment of GBC worldwide,demonstrated differences from the recom-mended *** OMEGA study,the largest cohort study,examined the outcomes of surgical intervention in 3676 patients from 133 *** future directions,the value of collaborative efforts between centers and regions must be emphasized to better un-derstand the different aspects of the disease and globally improve therapeutic strategies for GBC.

One of the biggest challenges in the biocompatibility of implantable metals is the prevention of the stress shielding effect,which is related to the coupling of the bone-metal mechanical *** stress shielding phenomenon provokes bone resorption and the consequent adverse effects on prosthesis ***,it can be inhibited by adapting the stiffness of the implant *** the use of titanium(Ti)porous structures is a great alternative not only to inhibit this effect but also to improve the osteointegration of orthopedic and dental implants,a brief description of the techniques used for their manufacturing and a review of the current commercialized implants produced from porous Ti assemblies are compiled in this *** powder metallurgy(PM)with space holder(SH)is a powerful technology used to produce porous Ti structures,it is here discussed its potential for the fabrication of medical devices from the perspectives of both design and *** most important parameters of the technique such as the size and shape of the initial metallic particles,the SH and binder type of materials,the compaction pressure of the green form,and in the sintering stage,the temperature,atmosphere,and time are reviewed according to the bibliography ***,the importance of the porosity and its types together with the influence of the mentioned parameters in the final porosity and,consequently,in the ultimate mechanical properties of the structure are ***,a few examples of the PM-SH application for the manufacturing of orthopedic implants are presented.

Mindfulness is a psychological technique based on Eastern meditative practices that was developed in the late 1970s by Kabat-Zinn at the University of ***,there was a debate over whether it should be considered a scientific technique or labelled as part of the“new wave”***,mindfulness is omnipresent in modern societies but has suffered from merchandising and banalization,which has been strongly *** some limitations regarding methodological aspects of mindfulness research,it is considered effective for treating many physical and psychological disorders,and even it is recommended in clinical guidelines such the British National Institute for Health and Care *** the last 2500 years,mindfulness practices have moved from Northern India across most of Asia,but their mixing with Western science and culture at the end of the 20^(th)century is considered a key event in recent *** the first time in human history,due to globalization,the wisdom of all contemplative traditions can be shared with all human beings and assessed by *** practices,yoga included,are giving birth to a new field of knowledge,contemplative sciences,which go beyond mindfulness and is devoted to helping humanity to reach higher levels of happiness and mental peace.

The Cambrian-lower Ordovician volcanic units of the South Armorican and Occitan domains are ana- lysed in a tectonostratigraphic survey of the french Variscan Belt. The South Armorican lavas consist of continental tholeiites in middle Camhrian-furongian sequences related to continental break-up. A significant volcanic activity occurred in the Tremadocian, dominated by crustal melted rhyolitic lavas and initial rifting tholeiites. The Occitan lavas are distributed into five volcanic phases：（I） basal Cambrian rhyolites, （2） upper lower Cambrian Mg-rich tholeiites close to N-MORBs but crustal contaminated, （3） upper lower-middle Cambrian continental tholeiites, （4） Tremadocian rhyolites, and （5） upper lower Ordovician initial rift tholeiites. A rifting event linked to asthenosphere upwelling took place in the late early Cambrian but did not evolve. It renewed in the Tremadocian with abundant crustal melting due to underplating of mixed asthenospheric and lithospheric magmas. This main tectono-magmatic conti- nental rift is termed the ＂Tremadocian Tectonic Belt＂ underlined by a chain of rhyolitic volcanoes from Occitan and South Armorican domains to Central Iberia. It evolved with the setting of syn-rift coarse siliciclastic deposits overlain by post-rift deep water shales in a suite of sedimentary basins that fore- casted the South Armorican-Medio-European Ocean as a part of the Palaeotethys Ocean.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, the most common neurodegenerative disease affecting motor neurons, lacks an effective treatment. A small fraction of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis cases have a familial origin, related to mutations in causative genes, while the vast majority of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis cases are considered to be sporadic, resulting from the interaction between genes and environmental factors in predisposed individuals. During the past few years, dozens of drugs have been postulated as promising strategies for the disease after showing some beneficial effects in preclinical cellular and murine models. However, the translation into clinical practice has been largely unsuccessful and the compounds failed when were tested in clinical trials. This might be explained, at least partially, by the enormous complexity of the disease both from clinico-epidemiological and a pathogenic points of view. In this review, we will briefly comment on the complexity of the disease focusing on some recent findings, and we will suggest how amyotrophic lateral sclerosis research might be reoriented to foster the advance in the diagnostic and therapeutic questions.
