The behaviors of barrier characteristics are analyzed for spherical-oblate systems over different configurations of colliding nuclei. for this purpose, we have extended our previous study [Phys. Rev. C 89（2014） 054607], it is devoted to optimum ＂cold＂ and ＂hot＂ configuration] to analyze the same reaction systems in various *** investigation on some chosen systems reveals that the barrier height and its position can be parameterized in times of the different orientations.

In this study the probable seismic behavior of skewed bridges with continuous decks under earthquake excitations from different directions is investigated. A 45° skewed bridge is studied. A suite of 20 records is used to perform an Incremental Dynamic Analysis （IDA） for fragility curves. four different earthquake directions have been considered： -45°, 0°, 22.5, 45°. A sensitivity analysis on different spectral intensity measures is presented; efficiency and practicality of different intensity measures have been studied. The fragility curves obtained indicate that the critical direction for skewed bridges is the skew direction as well as the longitudinal direction. The study shows the importance of finding the most critical earthquake in understanding and predicting the behavior of skewed bridges.

This paper provides a review of the intrinsic and extrinsic factors affecting the uniaxial compressive strength(UCS)of cemented tailings backfill(CTB).The consideration is that once CTB is poured into underground stopes,its strength is heavily influenced by factors internal to the CTB as well as the surrounding mining ***-reviewed journal articles,books,and conference papers published between 2000 and 2022 were searched electronically from various databases and *** sources,such as doctoral theses,were obtained from academic *** important finding from the review is that the addition of fibers was reported to improve the UCS of CTB in some studies while decrease in *** discrepancy was accounted to the different properties of fibers *** research is therefore needed to determine the“preferred”fiber to be used in *** findings were also reported on the effects of stope size on the UCS of ***,the use of fly ash as an alternative binder may be threatened in the future when reliance on the coal power ***,an alternative cementitious by-product to be used together with furnace slag may be required in the ***,while most studies on backfill focused on single-layered structures,layered backfill design models should also be investigated.

Sugar is important in daily food intake since it is used as food preservative and ***,is important to analyze the influence of sugar on the spectroscopic properties of the *** spectroscopy is proven to be useful and an efficient method for sugar detection as well as for future food quality ***,the lack of detection sensitivity in Terahertz Spectroscopy has prevented it from being used in a widespread spectroscopic analysis *** this paper,frequency Selective Surface(fSS)using the Terahertz Spectroscopy Time Domain Spectrum(THz-TDS)which operates at terahertz frequency range has been demonstrated for application of sugar *** fSS is designed with a circle slot structure and has been optimized in line with the molecular resonance of glucose and fructose at different level concentration at 1.98 THz and 1.80 THz,*** magnitude of glucose and sucrose is inversely proportional with the level of sugar *** realization of the fSS structure is using electron beam lithography and wet etching *** show that the fSS performance for glucose and sucrose reveal fair shifts in measured transmission magnitude from its original in CST by approximately 30%.The use of fabricated fSS with circle structure indicates that the concentration can be improved averagely at 25%for glucose and 13%for ***,it shows that the fSS circle structure combined with THz-TDS has the potential to become an alternative method for food sensing technology in the future.

The behavior of the stress intensity factor at the tips of cracks subjected to uniaxial tension σχ^∞= p with traction-free boundary condition in half-plane elasticity is investigated. The problem is formulated into singular integral equations with the distribution dislocation function as unknown. In the formulation, we make used of a modified complex potential. Based on the appropriate quadrature formulas together with a suitable choice of collocation points, the singular integral equations are reduced to a system of linear equations for the unknown coefficients. numerical examples show that the values of the stress intensity factor are influenced by the distance from the cracks to the boundary of the half-plane and the configuration of the cracks.

Colorectal cancer(CRC) is a major health problem in the Western world. The diagnostic process is a challenge in all health systems for many reasons: There are often no specific symptoms; lower abdominal symptoms are very common and mostly related to nonneoplastic diseases, not CRC; diagnosis of CRC is mainlybased on colonoscopy, an invasive procedure; and the resource for diagnosis is usually scarce. furthermore, the available predictive models for CRC are based on the evaluation of symptoms, and their diagnostic accuracy is limited. Moreover, diagnosis is a complex process involving a sequence of events related to the patient, the initial consulting physician and the health system. Understanding this process is the first step in identifying avoidable factors and reducing the effects of diagnostic delay on the prognosis of CRC. In this article, we describe the predictive value of symptoms for CRC detection. We summarize the available evidence concerning the diagnostic process, as well as the factors implicated in its delay and the methods proposed to reduce it. We describe the different prioritization criteria and predictive models for CRC detection, specifically addressing the two-week wait referral guideline from the national Institute of Clinical Excellence in terms of efficacy, efficiency and diagnostic accuracy. finally, we collected information on the usefulness of biomarkers, specifically the faecal immunochemical test, as non-invasive diagnostic tests for CRC detection in symptomatic patients.

The correlation of electrochemical measurements with materials characterization has advanced our understanding of operation and degradation mechanisms in electrochemical energy storage and many other ***,often these correlations are qualitative,preventing the unambiguous identification of both operational principles and the root causes of performance *** we suggest quantitative approaches to define competing mechanisms and determine their relative *** illustrate the importance of quantitative methodologies over a range of electrochemical systems and highlight the need to consider the effect of the experimental design and measurement *** approaches will reveal the most detrimental degradation mechanisms and enable the development of strategies to suppress,stabilize or eliminate them,leading to materials and devices with longer lifetimes,reduced environmental impact,and improved performance.

Torsional mechanics of single walled carbon nanotubes(SWCnTs) encapsulated with hydrogen molecules was investigated in this study, using the molecular dynamics(MD) simulation approach. The torsional properties of hydrogen stored SWCnTs were crucial for determining the durability and lifetime of SWnCTs-based energy storage and proton exchange membrane fuel cell(PEMfC) applications. The influence of hydrogen storage concentration, SWCnT geometry, vacancy defects, temperature variation and varying boundaries of rotated as well as fixed groups on the torsional mechanics of SWCnT was investigated. The results and conclusions provide an insight into the torsional properties of SWCnTs with hydrogen storage that could be used for the development of SWCnTs-based hydrogen storage devices and PEMfC applications.

Effects of Strain Rate and Deformation Temperature on Microstructures and Hardness in Plastically Deformed Pure Aluminum

The microstructures and hardness of pure Al samples subjected to plastic deformation with different tem- peratures and strain rates were investigated. The results showed that the strain-induced grain refinement is significantly benefited by increasing strain rate and reducing deformation temperature. The saturated size of refined subgrains in Al can be as small as about 240 nm in cryogenic dynamic plastic deformation （DPD）. Grain boundaries of the DPD Al samples are low-angle boundaries due to suppression of dynamic recovery during deformation. Agreement of the measured hardness with the empirical Hall-Petch relation extrapolated from the coarse-grained Al implies that the low-angle boundaries can contribute to strengthening as effective as the conventional grain boundaries.
