Classification and rating of disintegrated dolomite strata for slope stability analysis

Although disintegrated dolomite,widely distributed across the globe,has conventionally been a focus of research in underground engineering,the issue of slope stability issues in disintegrated dolomite strata is gaining increasing *** is primarily due to their unique properties,including low strength and loose *** methods for evaluating slope stability,such as basic quality(BQ)and slope stability probability classification(SSPC),do not adequately account for the poor integrity and structural fragmentation characteristic of disintegrated *** address this challenge,an analysis of the applicability of the limit equilibrium method(LEM),BQ,and SSPC methods was conducted on eight disintegrated dolomite slopes located in Baoshan,Southwest ***,conflicting results were ***,this paper introduces a novel method,SMRDDS,to provide rapid and accurate assessment of disintegrated dolomite slope *** method incorporates parameters such as disintegrated grade,joint state,groundwater conditions,and excavation *** findings reveal that six slopes exhibit stability,while two are considered partially ***,the proposed method demonstrates a closer match with the actual conditions and is more time-efficient compared with the BQ and SSPC ***,due to the limited research on disintegrated dolomite slopes,the results of the SMRDDS method tend to be conservative as a safety *** conclusion,the SMRDDS method can quickly evaluate the current situation of disintegrated dolomite slopes in the *** contributes significantly to disaster risk reduction for disintegrated dolomite slopes.

Milk fat globule membrane(MfGM),which contains abundant glycoproteins and phospholipids,exerts beneficial effects on intestinal health and *** aim of this study was to evaluate the protective effects and possible underlying mechanisms of MfGM on cow’s milk allergy(CMA)in aβ-lactoglobulin(BLG)-induced allergic mice *** was supplemented to allergic mice induced by BLG at a dose of 400 mg/kg body *** demonstrated that MfGM alleviated food allergy symptoms,decreased serum levels of lipopolysaccharide,pro-inflammatory cytokines,immunoglobulin(Ig)E,Ig G1,and Th2 cytokines including interleukin(IL)-4,while increased serum levels of Th1 cytokines including interferon-γand regulatory T cells(Tregs)cytokines including IL-10 and transforming growth factor-β.MfGM modulated gut microbiota and enhanced intestinal barrier of BLG-allergic mice,as evidenced by decreased relative abundance of Desulfobacterota,Rikenellaceae,Lachnospiraceae,and Desulfovibrionaceae,while increased relative abundance of Bacteroidetes,Lactobacillaceae and Muribaculaceae,and enhanced expressions of tight junction proteins including Occludin,Claudin-1 and zonula ***,MfGM increased fecal short-chain fatty acids(SCfAs)levels,which elevated G protein-coupled receptor(GPR)43 and GPR109A *** increased expressions of GPR43 and GPR109A induced CD103+dendritic cells accumulation and promoted Tregs differentiation in mesenteric lymph node to a certain *** summary,MfGM alleviated CMA in a BLG-induced allergic mice model through enhancing intestinal barrier and promoting Tregs differentiation,which may be correlated with SCfAs-mediated activation of *** findings suggest that MfGM may be useful as a promising functional ingredient against CMA.

Interface Engineering of Titanium Nitride Nanotube Composites for Excellent Microwave Absorption at Elevated Temperature

Currently,the microwave absorbers usually suffer dreadful electromagnetic wave absorption(EMWA)performance damping at elevated temperature due to impedance mismatching induced by increased conduction ***,the development of high-performance EMWA materials with good impedance matching and strong loss ability in wide temperature spectrum has emerged as a top ***,due to the high melting point,good electrical conductivity,excellent environmental stability,EM coupling effect,and abundant interfaces of titanium nitride(TiN)nanotubes,they were designed based on the controlling kinetic diffusion procedure and Ostwald ripening *** from boosted heterogeneous interfaces between TiN nanotubes and polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS),enhanced polarization loss relaxations were created,which could not only improve the depletion efficiency of EMWA,but also contribute to the optimized impedance matching at elevated ***,the TiN nanotubes/PDMS composite showed excellent EMWA performances at varied temperature(298-573 K),while achieved an effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)value of 3.23 GHz and a minimum reflection loss(RLmin)value of−44.15 dB at 423 *** study not only clarifies the relationship between dielectric loss capacity(conduction loss and polarization loss)and temperature,but also breaks new ground for EM absorbers in wide temperature spectrum based on interface engineering.

Programming molecular switches in water and ethanol via thermo-sensitive polymers for phase control in energetic crystals

The practical application of energetic materials, particularly 2,4,6,8,10,12-hexanitro-2,4,6,8,10,12-hexaazaisowurtzitane(CL-20), is frequently impeded by phase transition challenges. In this study, we propose a novel strategy to enhance the stability of CL-20 by employing a thermo-sensitive polymer,poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)(PNIPAM), to modulate its phase transitions. Our approach involves the use of an in-situ polymerized polydopamine(PDA) shell as a platform for surface grafting through atom transfer radical polymerization, yielding a core-shell structured CL-20@PDA-PNIPAM. Through comprehensive characterization, the successful grafting of PNIPAM is confirmed, significantly enhanced the phase stability of CL-20. Notably, our core-shell structure exhibits a 13℃ increase in phase transition temperature compared to raw CL-20, thereby delaying the ε→a phase transition by over 80 min under combined thermal and solvent conditions. The enhanced stability is attributed to the hydrophobic nature of PNIPAM above its low critical solution temperature in water, which effectively shields the CL-20 crystal. These findings provide new insights into enhancing the stability and safety of energetic materials in complex environments, highlighting the potential of our molecular switch mechanism.

Current mainstream object detection methods for large aerial images usually divide large images into patches and then exhaustively detect the objects of interest on all patches,no matter whether there exist objects or *** paradigm,although effective,is inefficient because the detectors have to go through all patches,severely hindering the inference *** paper presents an objectness activation network(OAN) to help detectors focus on fewer patches but achieve more efficient inference and more accurate results,enabling a simple and effective solution to object detection in large *** brief,OAN is a light fully-convolutional network for judging whether each patch contains objects or not,which can be easily integrated into many object detectors and jointly trained with them *** extensively evaluate our OAN with five advanced *** OAN,all five detectors acquire more than 30.0% speed-up on three large-scale aerial image datasets,meanwhile with consistent accuracy *** extremely large Gaofen-2 images(29200 × 27620 pixels),our OAN improves the detection speed by 70.5%.Moreover,we extend our OAN to driving-scene object detection and 4K video object detection,boosting the detection speed by 112.1% and 75.0%,respectively,without sacrificing the accuracy.
