Laser aided additive manufacturing(LAAM)was used to fabricate bulk fe_(49.5)Mn_(30)Co_(10)Cr_(10)C_(0.5)interstitial multicomponent alloy using pre-alloyed *** room temperature yield strength(σ_y),ultimate tensile strength(σ_(UTS))and elongation(ε_(UTS))were 645 MPa,917 MPa and 27.0%*** asbuilt sample consisted of equiaxed and dendritic cellular structures formed by elemental *** cellular structures together with oxide particle inclusions were deemed to strengthen the *** other contributing components include dislocation strengthening,friction stress and grain boundary *** highε_(UTS)was attributed to dislocation motion and activation of both twinning and transformation-induced plasticity(TWIP and TRIP).Tensile tests performed at-40℃and-130℃demonstrated superior tensile strength of 1041 MPa and 1267 MPa ***,almost no twinning was observed in the fractured sample tested at-40℃and-130℃.Instead,higher fraction of strain-induced hexagonal close-packed(HCP)εphase transformation of 21.2%were observed for fractured sample tested at-40℃,compared with 6.3%in fractured room temperature sample.

Indentation creep behavior with cylindrical flat indenters on the thermal barrier coating (TbC) was studied by finite element method (fEM). On ike constant applied indentation creep stress, there is a steady creep rate for each case studied for different creep properties of the TbC system. The steady creep depth rate depends on the applied indentation creep stress and size of the indenters as well as the creep properties of the bond coat of the TbC and the substrate. The possibilities to determine the creep properties of a thermal barrier system from indention creep testing were discussed. As an example, with two different size indenters, the creep properties of bond coat of the TbC system can be derived by an inverse fEM method. This study not only provides a numerical method to obtain the creep properties of the TbC system, but also extends the application of indentation creep method with cylindrical flat indenters.

The evolution of a molecular system excited above its ionization threshold depends on a number of parameters that include the nature of the excited states and their couplings to the various continua. The general nature of the processes governing this evolution depends also essentially on the complexity of the molecule, more precisely on its size, density of states, and strength of the couplings among the various internal degrees of freedom. In this paper we address the question of the transition between autoionization that prevails in small molecules, and delayed ionization occurring in larger molecules or clusters. This transition is illustrated by autoionization of Na2 Rydberg states on one hand, delayed ionization in fullerene C60, and delayed detachment in small cluster anions on the other hand. All processes are studied in the case of nanosecond laser excitation, corresponding to a rather slow deposition of the internal energy.

Patterns of starch hydrolysis in stem,equatorial,and calyx zones of‘Honeycrisp’and‘Empire’apples(Malus sylvestris(L.)Mill ***(borkh.)Mansf.)during maturation and ripening,and in‘Gala’apples in response to propylene or 1-methylcyclopropene(1-MCP)treatments after harvest,were *** in zonal starch concentrations were found for‘Empire’and‘Gala’fruits,but not for‘Honeycrisp’.During maturation and ripening of‘Empire’,the concentration of starch was highest in the calyx end and lowest in the stem region.Differences in rates of starch hydrolysis among zones were not detected.‘Honeycrisp’and‘Empire’had the highest concentration of sorbitol in the calyx region,whereas it was highest in the stem-end region in‘Gala’.The distribution differences of glucose,fructose,and sucrose were similar in all three cultivars;higher fructose and glucose concentrations in the stem region,and higher sucrose concentrations in the calyx end of the *** treatment of‘Gala’with propylene did not affect the internal ethylene concentration of the fruit but 1-MCP markedly inhibited *** concentrations were highest in the calyx end but gradients of starch among zones were not changed by postharvest *** rate of hydrolysis was slowed by 1-MCP treatment,but was unaffected by *** treatments influenced sorbitol,glucose,and fructose *** of starch concentration among the zones did not confirm differences in ripening,but reflected its uneven distribution throughout the fruit during ***,measured differences in zonal starch are most likely related to starch accumulation during fruit development,rather than differences in rates of starch degradation during ripening.

Spinal cord injury remains a major cause of disability in young adults,and beyond acute decompression and rehabilitation,there are no pharmacological treatments to limit the progression of injury and optimize recovery in this *** the thorough investigation of the complement system in triggering and propagating cerebral neuroinflammation,a similar role for complement in spinal neuroinflammation is a focus of ongoing *** this work,we survey the current literature investigating the role of complement in spinal cord injury including the sources of complement proteins,triggers of complement activation,and role of effector functions in the *** study relevant data demonstrating the different triggers of complement activation after spinal cord injury including direct binding to cellular debris,and or activation via antibody binding to damage-associated molecular *** effector functions of complement have been implicated in spinal cord injury,and we critically evaluate recent studies on the dual role of complement anaphylatoxins in spinal cord injury while emphasizing the lack of pathophysiological understanding of the role of opsonins in spinal cord *** this pathophysiological review,we systematically review the different translational approaches used in preclinical models of spinal cord injury and discuss the challenges for future translation into human *** review emphasizes the need for future studies to dissect the roles of different complement pathways in the pathology of spinal cord injury,to evaluate the phases of involvement of opsonins and anaphylatoxins,and to study the role of complement in white matter degeneration and regeneration using translational strategies to supplement genetic models.

Endophytic and epiphytic fungal assemblages from stems of ***,a shrubby vine,were studied in order to(1)quantify differences and the degree of overlap between fungal communities of both micro-habitats,and(2)examine whether fungal assemblages are spatially correlated at the local scale(tens to hundreds of meters),in order to understand if dispersal limitation may play a role in structuring these *** was conducted over 160 m of growth along a forest *** communities showed low overlap(bray-Curtis Similarity=0.22),with most species that were common in one habitat appearing rarely if at all in the other,and only Aureobasidium pullulans showing high frequency in *** assemblages proved to be spatially correlated along the 160 m length of the transect,and even more so when adjacent pairs of stems were considered as the unit of comparison rather than individual *** assemblages showed no significant spatial correlation along the ***,three species of endophytes showed a pattern in which abundance of colonies peaked at different heights on the *** boninense showed peak abundance at 3 cm from the stem *** sp.1 peaked at 33 cm from the stem *** isolates of *** peaked at 63 cm from the stem *** was also found that positive correlative relationships were detected between endophyte-endophyte,and epiphyte-epiphyte ***-group interactions seemed to center around crossover species that were not entirely constrained within the surface or interior.

An analytical study with respect to the nonlinear corrections for the nuclear gluon distribution function in the next-to-leading order approximation at small x is *** consider the nonlinear corrections to the nuclear gluon distribution functions at low values of x and Q^(2) using the parametrization f_(2)(x,Q^(2))and the nuclear modification factors obtained from the Khanpour-Soleymaninia-Atashbar-Spiesberger-Guzey *** CT18 gluon distribution is used for the baseline proton gluon density at Q^(2)_(0)=*** discuss the behavior of the gluon densities in the next-to-leading order and the next-to-next-to-leading order approximations at the initial scale Q^(2)_(0),as well as the modifications due to the nonlinear *** find that the QCD nonlinear corrections are more significant for the next-to-leading order accuracy than the next-to-next-to-leading order for light and heavy *** results of the nonlinear GLR-MQ evolution equation are similar to those obtained with the Rausch-Guzey-Klasen gluon upward and downward evolutions within the *** magnitude of the gluon distribution with the nonlinear corrections increases with a decrease in x and an increase in atomic number A.

In this paper, we analytically solve the master equation for Jaynes-Cummings model in the dispersive regime including phase damping and the field is assumed to be initially in a superposition of coherent states. Using an established entanglement measure based on the negativity of the eigenvalues of the partially transposed density matrix we find a very strong sensitivity of the maximally generated entanglement to the amount of phase damping. Qualitatively this behavior is also reflected in alternative entanglement measures, but the quantitative agreement between different measures depends on the chosen noise model The phase decoherence for this model results in monotonic increase in the total entropy while the atomic sub-entropy keeps its periodic behaviour without any effect.

A comprehensive monitoring program was conducted to measure the rock mass displacements, support response, and stress changes at a longwall tailgate entry in West *** was initiated a few days after development of the gateroad entries and continued during passage of the longwall panels on both sides of the *** included overcore stress measurements of the initial stress within the rock mass, changes in cable bolt loading, standing support pressure, roof deformation, rib deformation,stress changes in the coal pillar, and changes in the full three-dimensional stress tensor within the rock mass at six locations around the monitoring *** the passage of the first longwall, stress measurements in the rock and coal detected minor changes in loading while minor changes were detected in roof *** a result of the relatively favorable stress and geological conditions, the support systems did not experience severe loading or rock deformation until the second panel approached within 10–15 m of the instrumented *** reaching the peak loading at about 50–75 mm of roof sag, the cable bolts started to unload, and load was transferred to the standing *** standing support system was able to maintain an adequate opening inby the shields to provide ventilation to the first crosscut inby the face, as *** results were used to calibrate modeled cable bolt response to field data, and to validate numerical modeling procedures that have been developed to evaluate entry support *** is concluded that the support system was more than adequate to control the roof of the tailgate up to the longwall face *** monitoring results have provided valuable data for the development and validation of support design strategies for longwall tailgate entries.
