The corrosion and tribocorrosion behavior of Ti6Al4V/xTiN(x=0,5,10 and 15,vol.%)composites fabricated by solid-state sintering and their relationship with the microstructure and microhardness were *** body conditions such as a temperature of 37℃ and a simulated body fluid were *** main results demonstrated a microstructural change caused by theα-Ti stabilization due to solid-solution of nitrogen(N)into the titanium(Ti)lattice,producing a maximum hardening effect up to 109%for the Ti64 matrix by using 15 vol.%*** potentials of composites changed to more noble values with the TiN particle addition,while corrosion current density of samples increased as an effect of the remaining porosity,decreasing the corrosion resistance of ***,changes to a less passive behavior were observed for samples with 15 vol.%*** non-passive behavior of composites resulted in the reduction of the potential drops during rubbing in tribocorrosion ***,an improvement of up to 88%of the wear rate of composites was seen from the solid-solution *** results allowed to understand the relationship between composition and sintering parameters with the improved tribocorrosion performance of materials.

Recent reports suggest that aging is not solely a physiological process in living beings;instead, it should be considered a pathological process or disease(Amorim et al., 2022). Consequently, this process involves a wide range of factors, spanning from genetic to environmental factors, and even includes the gut microbiome(GM)(Mayer et al., 2022). All these processes coincide at some point in the inflammatory process, oxidative stress, and apoptosis, at different degrees in various organs and systems that constitute a living organism(Mayer et al., 2022;Aguilarhernández et al., 2023).

BACKGROUND Wilson's disease(WD)is a rare metabolic disorder of copper accumulation in organs such as liver,brain,and *** and treatments are challenging in settings,where advanced diagnostic tests are unavailable,copper chelating agents are frequently scarce,healthcare professionals lack disease awareness,and medical follow-ups are *** diagnoses and treatments help prevent complications,improve patients’quality of life,and ensure a normal life *** clinical presentations and outcomes of WD can vary within a single *** SUMMARY We present the cases of two siblings(19 and 27 years)from a consanguineous family in rural Ecuador,diagnosed as having WD during a family *** male patient,diagnosed at age 19 after his brother’s death from acute liver failure,presented with compensated cirrhosis,neurological symptoms,and bilateral Kayser-fleischer *** developed progressive neurological deterioration during an irregular treatment with D-penicillamine due to medication *** condition improved upon switching to trientine tetrahydrochloride,and his neurological symptoms improved over an 8-year period of *** female patient,diagnosed at age 10,exhibited only biochemical *** treatment history was similar;however,she remained asymptomatic without disease progression over the same follow-up *** discuss the potential influence of epigenetic mechanisms and modifier genes on the various phenotypes,emphasizing the need for research in these areas to optimize therapeutic *** Our patients’medical histories show how early diagnosis and treatment can prevent disease progression;and,how suboptimal treatments impact disease outcomes.

The finding that some seed-inhabiting insects can survive passage through the entire digestive tract of seed-dispersing vertebrates is relatively recent,but evidence suggests that it does ***,I document this phenomenon,discuss its qualitative and quantitative dimensions,and offer suggestions for further *** few documented cases that I review include plant species belonging to different families,with varied fleshy fruit types,number of seeds per fruit and seed *** vertebrate frugivores involved include passerines that feed on relatively small fruits,and galliforms,and perissodactyls and primates that feed on larger *** seed-inhabiting insects in-volved are the larvae of seed-infesting wasps,parasitoid wasps and seed-infesting *** phenomenon has been verified in open,rural ecosystems in North America and Southern Europe,and in tropical and subtropical forests in South *** varied scenarios suggest that the qualitative dimension of the phenomenon is considerably greater than known thus far.A simple method for detecting new events is ***,re-search must also focus on the identity and biology of seed-feeding insects of wild fleshy fruits and their *** survival rates of seed-inhabiting insects after vertebrate gut passage are *** phenomenon generally appears to favor insect dispersal.

The present study aims to develop multilayer barrier-bioactive hybrid sol-gel coatings from a mixture of the silane precursors tetraethylorthosilicate(TEOS)and glycidoxypropyltriethoxysilane(GPTMS)deposited on the Elektron 21 magnesium *** purpose of the inner layer(barrier coating)was to provide corrosion protection to the magnesium alloy,whereas the outer layer(bioactive coating)was doped with different Ca and Mg contents to produce a bioactive *** coatings were characterised using scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and their corrosion behaviour was evaluated by anodic polarisation and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy after immersion in simulated body fluid(SBf)at 37±0.5°*** experimental results showed that the multilayer coatings increased the corrosion resistance of the alloy up to three orders of magnitude during immersion in SBf *** the other hand,the presence of Ca and Mg in the bioactive coating promoted the growth of apatite-like ***,an increment of salt content favoured the formation of porous coatings,which allowed the access of the electrolyte to the substrate leading to their rapid *** the latter,this research endorses the premise that the TEOS-GPTMS hybrid system represents a promising alternative to produce bifunctional barrier-bioactive coatings.
