One of.the clear signals of.the ongoing climate change is sea level rise (SLR). Normal oceanic tides superimposed on a rising sea level and coastal f.ooding will af.ect many coastal communities. An international collaboration among Brazil, the United Kingdom, and the United States was designed to evaluate local decision making processes and to open space f.r local urban managers to ref.ect on possible actions toward adaption to sea level rise given the historical constraints imposed by administrative and institutional structures. This project f.cused on the processes that shape adaptation of.three coastal communities in three countries. It worked jointly with these communities in def.ning the problem, examining risks, and understanding the benef.ts and obstacles that may hinder implementation of.adaptation options. The f.amework was co-designed by an interdisciplinary team that incorporated social and natural scientists f.om the three countries, including local government of.icials. The study addressed 1) evaluation of.adaptive capacity through participant surveys and 2) physical and cost impact simulations using geospatial models of.the built inf.astructure and implementation of.adaptation options under dif.erent hazard scenarios, including 50 and 100-year sea level rise projections and severe storms. Based on the surveys’ results, there is a clear sense of.the awareness of.each community of.the risk of.f.oods due to intense storms, and of.the usef.lness of.engaging early in a process that promotes the understanding of.risks, impacts, and costs. A majority of.workshop participants prioritized pursuing physical and green inf.astructure actions now or within coming years or decades. A positive common aspect of.the three sites was the commitment shown by the stakeholders in taking part in the process and evaluating which adaptation measures could be more ef.ective in their cities. O3-type layered oxide cathodes,such as NaNi_(0.5)Mn_(0.5)O_(2),have garnered signif.cant attention due to their high theoretical specif.c capacity while using abundant and low-cost sodium as intercalation *** the lithium analog(LiNiO_(2)),NaNiO_(2)(NNO)exhibits poor electrochemical perf.rmance resulting f.om structural instability and inf.rior Coulomb *** enhance its cyclability f.r practical application,NNO was modif.ed by titanium substitution to yield the O3-type NaNi_(0.9)Ti_(0.1)O_(2)(NNTO),which was successf.lly synthesized f.r the f.rst time via a solid-state *** mechanism behind its superior perf.rmance in comparison to that of.similar materials is examined in detail using a variety of.characterization *** delivers a specif.c discharge capacity of.190 mAh g^(−1)and exhibits good reversibility,even in the presence of.multiple phase transitions during cycling in a potential window of.2.0−4.2 V ***^(+)/*** behavior can be attributed to the substituent,which helps maintain a larger interslab distance in the Na-def.cient phases and to mitigate Jahn–Teller activity by reducing the average oxidation state of.***,volume collapse at high potentials and irreversible lattice oxygen loss are still detrimental to the ***,the perf.rmance can be f.rther enhanced through coating and doping *** not only positions NNTO as a promising next-generation cathode material,but also serves as inspiration f.r f.ture research directions in the f.eld of.high-energy-density Na-ion batteries.

1987年5月至12月,在联邦德国哥廷根森林中,位于树冠不同高度上完成了气态硝酸浓度分布的测定。同时,还测定了森林中大气扩散参数。用模式计算出气态硝酸的沉降速度和沉降通量。结果表明,气态硝酸沉降通量平均约为26kg HNO_3—N/a·ha,气态硝酸浓度平均约为0.88μgHNO_3—N/m^3,夜间浓度下降,43m处(树冠上面)气态硝酸浓度高于33m(树冠中)。在第1至第10个实验里气溶胶中气态硝酸与硝酸盐的比值是0.3,而在第11～14个实验中约为1～3。

地震通常被作为造成长距离顺坡搬运大体积沉积物并在海洋和湖泊中沉降下来的浊流—致密沉积—水柱的一种可能的引发机制(Heezen and Ewing,1952;*** al,1996;Grantz,et al,1996;Gorsline,1996;Thomson and Weaver,1994;Hughen,et al,1996)。Heezen 和 Ewing(1952)首次提出了这样的设想,北大西洋海底电缆的折断应归因于1929年大浅滩地震产生的海底浊流。为此一些工作者用沉积物的浊度记录重建许多地方的地震历史(Inouchi,et al,1996;Adams,1990;Doig,1990)。本文给出了一次地震导致浊流的直接观测结果。在卡里亚科海盆内的光散射和沉积物流量的测定表明,委内瑞拉北部海岸,1997年7月9日发生的地震造成大约超过10^(15)kg 的沉积物下滑至海盆深部。在这样的地震活动区,沉积物的这种运移机制可能是海盆内沉积物长期累积的重要原因。此外,这种过程可能导致最初在浅海中沉积的大量碳质被封存在深海沉积物中。
