As the sole obligate symbiotic birds in Af.ica,oxpeckers of.er a unique model f.r studying symbiotic *** to the multitrophic level they occupy and the context dependent f.raging behavior they exhibit,the type of.symbiotic relationship can be *** addition to providing a cleaning service to the host by removing ticks,oxpeckers f.equently f.ed on blood,mucus,and saliva,inf.icting potential damage on the ***,we used DNA metabarcoding on f.ecal samples to analyze the taxonomic composition of.the trophic interactions of.the Yellow-billed Oxpecker(Buphagus af.icanus)and Red-billed Oxpecker(***)in northeastern *** contrast to conventional methods,DNA metabarcoding allows f.r a detailed identif.cation of.dietary resources encompassing both mammal hosts and consumed arthropods within the same *** this inf.rmation,we examined dif.erences in the diet composition between oxpecker species and localities,as well as the co-occurrence between host and arthropod *** f.ndings revealed that oxpeckers predominantly source their diet f.om mammals,ticks,and f.ies;however,ticks and f.ies rarely co-occur in the diet of.an *** observed variability among individuals in their f.eding ecology,which is strongly correlated with locality and,to a lesser extent,with the mammal *** noted a high degree of.mobility between hosts within relatively short periods,with 32%of.the samples showing traces of.at least two mammal *** study illustrates the dynamic f.raging behavior of.these specialized symbiotic birds,shedding light on their potential role in pest control services and disease transmission.

Estrus Grouping in Sheep Treated with Melengestrol Acetate （MGA）

In Mexico the predominant sheep production system is the semi-extensive with grazing during the day and stanchion af.ernoon and night. Sheep herd are usually small, approximately 10 to 75 heads. The objectives of.these systems are savings and marketing of.lambs. Meat is the main economic product of.this kind, the breeding is long, which do not control the delivery dates and ages of.the sheep are not unif.rm, af.ecting the demand f.r the local market （f.r the months of.June and December）. Theref.re the aim of.this work was implement a technology that allows the grouping of.the estrus and theref.re group deliveries f.r batches of.unif.rm lambs. This technology was designed to suppress the estrus and heif.rs growth promoter of.f.edlots, this technology is melengestrol acetate （MGA） which is a synthetic progesterone oral administration that it is easy to manage in the f.od or alone, economic that it does not represent any risk f.r sheep f.males of.abortive type, evaluating the ef.ect of.the MGA on rate of.estrus and gestation in sheep. Work developed in the municipality of.Charo f.om Michoac^in State, M6xico, 20 hair sheep divided in two groups of.10 f.male, group one treated with MGA and group tow was the whitens. 100% of.the sheep treated with a dose of.0.45 mg MGA/head/day f.r 17 days orally, presented estrus grouped in 5-10 days; however only 50% of.the sheep of.the witness group presented estrus. In the experimental group there was a rate of.70% with a gestation dif.erence time of.no more than ten days gestation and witness group 50%. The MGA is an ef.icient alternative f.r the producer of.sheep when administered 0.45 mg MGA/head/day f.r 17 days because inhibits the estrus and once withdrawn treatment manif.sts estrus synch with which get a rate of.gestation elevated by natural riding.

Green-synthesized gold nanoparticles f.om Plumeria alba f.ower extract to augment catalytic degradation of.organic dyes and inhibit bacterial growth

Bio-inspired eco-f.iendly gold nanoparticles were synthesized by a green method using aqueous Plume- ria alba f.ower extract （PAf.）. The use of.1% and 5% concentrations of.PAf. resulted in two dif.erent sizes of.P. alba gold nanoparticles, PAGNPsl and PAGNPs2, with surf.ce plasmon resonance （SPR） peaks at 552 and 536 nm, respectively. Size-controlled f.rmation of.gold nanoparticles was indicated by the SPR shif. observed with increasing concentration of.PAf.. The accurate size and morphology of.PAGNPs I and PAGNPs2 were determined by transmission electron microscope （TEM） analysis is f.und to be 28 ＋ 5.6 and 15.6 4-3.4 nm, respectively, and those are spherical in shape. The antibacterial activity of.PAGNPsl and PAGNPs2 was tested against Escherichia coil; the small-sized PAGNPs2 exhibited better antibacterial activity with a 16-mm zone of.inhibition at a concentration of.400 txg/mL. f.rthermore, the catalytic activity of.PAGNPsl and PAGNPs2 was analyzed on six hazardous dyes; PAGNPs2 exhibited more pro- nounced catalytic activity than PAGNPsl. Among all of.the dyes, 4-nitrophenol was most rapidly degraded to 4-aminophenol by PAGNPs2 within 5 min. The mechanism of.catalysis in the presence of.PAGNPsl and PAGNPs2 can be described as an electron transf.r process f.om donor NaBH4 to an acceptor. The f.cile green synthesis of.such eco-f.iendly nanoparticles in bulk suggests this method has potential industrial applications.

Concrete members historically have used either pre-stressed steel or steel bars. In recent years there has been an increased interest in the use of.f.ber reinf.rced polymer （f.P） materials. However, the f.exure behavior of.a hybrid system reinf.rced by the combination of.pre-stressed steel and glass f.ber reinf.rced （Gf.P） is still relatively unknown. The purpose of.this work is to study this. Two slabs of.100 and 150-millimeter thickness, with a span of.2.1 m reinf.rced with both pre-stressing steel and Gf.P were constructed and tested to f.ilure using ACI 318-11 and ACI 440.1 R-15. The concrete had strength of.31 MPa and the slabs were respectively reinf.rced with 5#4 bars and 3#5 bars. Each slab had 37.41 mm2 prestressing wire with a f.ilure stress of.1722.5 MPa. The experimental f.exural strength and def.ection of.slabs were compared with their respective sizes theoretical slabs. The theoretical slabs were either reinf.rced with pre-stressed steel or Gf.P rebars, or a hybrid system. It was f.und that the hybrid system produces better results.

Magmatic Evolution of.Garnet-Bearing highly f.actionated Granitic Rocks f.om Macao,Southeast China:Implications f.r Granite-Related Mineralization Processes

The widespread W-(Mo)-Sn-Nb-Ta polymetallic mineralization in Southeast(SE)China is genetically associated with Mesozoic highly f.actionated granitic *** rocks have enigmatic mineralogical and geochemical f.atures,making its petrogenesis an intensely debated *** better understand the underlying magma evolution processes,petrography,garnet chemistry and whole-rock major and trace element data are reported f.r Jurassic highly f.actionated granitic rocks and associated microgranite and aplitepegmatite dikes f.om Macao and compared with coeval similar granitic rocks f.om nearby areas in SE *** the f.ct that the most evolved rocks in Macao are garnet-bearing aplite-pegmatite dikes,the existence of.coeval two-mica and garnet-bearing biotite and muscovite granites displaying more evolved compositions(e.g.,lower Zr/Hf.ratios)indicates that the dif.erentiation sequence reached higher degrees of.f.actionation at a regional *** crystal f.actionation played an important role,late-stage f.uid/melt interactions,involving f.rich f.uids,imparted specif.c geochemical characteristics to Macao and SE China highly f.actionated granitic rocks such as the non-CHARAC(CHArge-and-RAdius-Controlled)behavior of.trace elements,leading,f.r example,to non-chondritic Zr/Hf.ratios,Rare Earth Elements(REE)tetrad ef.ects and Nb-Ta enrichment and *** process contributed to the late-stage crystallization of.accessory phases only f.und in these highly evolved *** the latter,two populations of.garnet were identif.ed in MGI(Macao GroupⅠ)highly f.actionated granitic rocks:small grossular-poor euhedral grains and large grossular-rich skeletal garnet grains with quartz *** f.rst group was mainly f.rmed through precipitation f.om highly evolved Mn-rich slightly peraluminous melts under low-pressure and relatively low temperature(~700℃)*** of.upper crust metasedimentary materials may have contributed as a source of.Mn and

Synthetic Time Series Generation Model f.r Analysis of.Power System Operation and Expansion with High Renewable Energy Penetration

The increasing integration of.renewable energy sources into current power systems has posed the challenge of.adequately representing the statistical properties associated with their variable power generation. In this paper, a novel procedure is proposed to select a proper synthetic time series generation model f.r renewable energy sources to analyze power system problems. The procedure takes advantage of.the objective of.the specif.c analysis to be perf.rmed and the statistical characteristics of.the available time series. The aim is to determine the suitable model to be used f.r generating synthetic time series of.renewable energy sources. A set of.indicators is proposed to verif. that the statistical properties of.synthetic time series f.t the statistical properties of.the original data. The proposal can be integrated into systematic tools available f.r data analysis without compromising the representation of.the statistical properties of.the original time series. The procedure is tested using real data f.om the New Zealand power system in a mid-term analysis on integrating wind power plants into the power system. The results show that the proposed procedure reduces the error obtained in analyzing power systems compared with ref.rence models.

Pallid Swif.s(Apus pallidus),as other swif.s,are birds extremely adapted to an aerial lif.style,showing unique adaptations that allow them to f.y almost *** diet of.these non-stopping high-altitudinal aerial birds has been mostly studied through techniques that f.il to produce highly resolved prey identif.cations,and f.r that have been replaced by molecular techniques,such as DNA *** samples of.Pallid Swif.s were monthly collected f.om a colony in the north of.Portugal during the breeding *** f.om the f.ecal samples was used to sex the birds and to identif. the arthropods present in the diet through DNA *** the detected prey items,74 f.milies were identif.ed belonging to 16 orders,with Hymenoptera and Hemiptera being the most f.equently *** were seasonal variations in diet richness,composition and prey *** the diet of.males and f.males,although no dif.erences were f.und between the diet of.males and f.males in terms of.composition and richness,there were dif.erences in the size of.arthropods preyed by the dif.erent sexes,with males f.eding on larger *** large seasonal variation in Pallid Swif.s’diet during the breeding season is probably a result of.spatiotemporal variation in aerial prey,of.which swif.s likely predate *** no signif.cant dif.erences were detected in diet richness and composition between sexes,the f.ct that males consumed larger prey may suggest the existence of.sexual dietary segregation in this group of.*** last,several pest species were f.und in these swif.s’diet,which,if.studied through DNA metabarcoding,can be used to monitor small arthropods,including airborne pests.
