Morphological and Physico-Chemical Characteristics and Classif.cation of.Vertisol Developed on Deltaic Plain

The name of.Vertisol is derived f.om Latin “vertere” meaning to invert. This case restricts development of.soil horizons in prof.le. These soils have the capacity to swell and shrink, inducing cracks in the upper parts of.the soil and distinctive soil structure throughout the soil. The f.rmation of.these specif.c f.atures are caused by a heavy texture, a dominance of.swelling clay in the f.ne f.action and marked changes in moisture content. The swell-shrink behavior is attributed to the wetting and drying of.the soil mass. In this study, morphology, physico-chemical characteristics and classif.cation of.vertisols that were f.rmed on alluvial delta plains, were investigated. Those soils f.rmed on the Baf.a Plain f.und in the K?z?l?rmak Delta and located in the central Black Sea region of.Turkey. All studied Vertisols are characterised by a dark colour in surf.ce soil, a heavy clayey texture, hardpan f.rmation under top soil (high bulk density a high compaction) and very high COLE values. In addition, they have deep wide-opened desiccation cracks at the surf.ce, slickensides at the middle part of.the prof.les and a poor dif.erentiation of.their horizons. Physico-chemically, the studied soils are slightly basic to very basic, non-saline and poor in organic matter, which is slightly higher in the surf.ce horizon. In addition, cation exchange capacity, sum of.exchangeable bases and base saturation of.soils are very high. On the basis of.morphological and physicochemical analysis, soil prof.les were classif.ed as Sodic Haplustert, Typic Calciaquert, Sodic Calciustert according to Soil Taxonomy (Soil Survey Staf., 1975 and 1999) and as Sodic Vertisol and Calcic Vertisol according to f.O/ISRIC (2006) classif.cation systems.

We investigated the ef.ects of.precommercial thinning(PCT)applied at dif.erent levels on the growth parameters of.natural Anatolian black pine *** experimental site was located in the province of.Isparta in southern *** was set up using a randomized complete block design with three replicates and three treatments(control,2–2.5 m×–2.5 m and 3–3.5 m×–3.5 m spacing).The experimental plots were established in March *** the end of.the growing seasons f.r three years(2014–2016),growth parameters such as diameter,height and crown radius were *** was f.und to be signif.cantly ef.ective on diameter,height,individual tree basal area,and crown radius increment at the end of.the third year(pf.ected individual tree development positively,we need long-term results on wood quality and *** to the short-term results,it is thought that it is better to lower the stand closeness gradually,so,it may be advisable to apply PCT by 2–2.5 m×–2.5 m spacing.

Binding energy of.the donor impurities in GaAs-Ga_(1-x)Al_xAs quantum well wires with Morse potential in the presence of.electric and magnetic f.elds

The behavior of.a donor in the GaAs–GaAlAs quantum well wire represented by the Morse potential is examined within the f.amework of.the ef.ective-mass approximation. The donor binding energies are numerically calculated f.r with and without the electric and magnetic f.elds in order to show their inf.uence on the binding energies. Moreover, how the donor binding energies change f.r the constant potential parameters(De, re, and a) as well as with the dif.erent values of.the electric and magnetic f.eld strengths is determined. It is f.und that the donor binding energy is highly dependent on the external electric and magnetic f.elds as well as parameters of.the Morse potential.

A study on the seismic behavior of.a retrof.tted building based on nonlinear static and dynamic analyses

This study describes the seismic perf.rmance of.an existing f.ve storey reinf.rced concrete building which represents the typical properties of.low-rise non-ductile buildings in Turkey. The ef.ectiveness of.shear walls and the steel bracings in retrof.tting the building was examined through nonlinear static and dynamic analyses. By using the nonlinear static analysis, retrof.tted buildings seismic perf.rmances under lateral seismic load were compared with each other. Moreover, the perf.rmance points and response levels of.the existing and retrof.tting cases were determined by way of.the capacity-spectrum method described in ATC-40 (1996). f.r the nonlinear dynamic analysis the records were selected to represent wide ranges of.duration and f.equency content. Considering the change in the stif.ness and the energy dissipation capacities, the perf.rmance of.the existing and retrof.tted buildings were evaluated in terms of.story drif.s and damage states. It was f.und that each earthquake record exhibited its own peculiarities, dictated by f.equency content, duration, sequence of.peaks and their amplitude. The seismic perf.rmance of.retrof.tted buildings resulted in lower displacements and higher energy dissipation capacity depending mainly on the properties of.the ground motions and the retrof.tting strategies. Moreover, severe structural damage (irreparable or collapse) was observed f.r the existing building. However, buildings with retrof.t alternatives exhibited lower damage levels changing f.om no damage to irreparable damage states.

The demonstration of.a higher data rate transmission system was amajor aspect to be considered by researchers in recent years. The most relevantaspect to be studied and analyzed is the need f.r a reliable system to handlenonlinear impairments and reduce them. Theref.re, this paper examines theinf.uence of.f.ur-Wave Mixing (f.M) impairment on the proposed highdata rate Dual polarization–Dif.erential Quadrature phase shif. keying (DPDQPSK)system using the Optisystem sof.ware. In the beginning, the impactof.varied input power on the proposed system’s perf.rmance was evaluated interms of.Qf.and BER metrics. More power is used to improve system ***, increasing power would raise thef.Mef.ects. Accordingly,a−10dBminput power and the proposed system are used to reduce the impactof.f.M. Additionally, a hybrid amplif.cation method is proposed to enhancesystem perf.rmance by utilizing the major amplif.cation methods of.erbiumdopedf.ber amplif.er (EDf.): semiconductor optical amplif.er (SOA) andRadio optical amplif.er (ROA). The evaluation demonstrates that the OAEDf.outperf.rmed the other two key amplif.cation techniques of.(EDf.SOA)and (EDf.-ROA) in improving Quality f.ctor (Qf. and Bit error rate(BER) system results f.r all distances up to 720 km. Consequently, the methodcontributes to minimizing the impact of.f.M. In the f.ture, other f.rms of.onlinearity will be investigated and studied to quantif. their impact on theproposed system.

In this article, we study the f.ows of.curves in the Galilean 3-space and its equif.rm geometry without any constraints. We f.nd that the f.enet equations and the intrinsic quantities of.the inelastic f.ows of.curves are independent of.time. We show that the motion of.curves in the Galilean 3-space and its equif.rm geometry are described by the inviscid and viscous Burgers＇ equations.

Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has caused a pandemic that af.ected all countries with nearly 270 million patients and 5 million deaths,as of.as of.December,*** severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 virus targets the receptor,angiotensin-converting enzyme 2,which is f.equently f.und in human intestinal epithelial cells,bile duct epithelial cells,and liver cells,and all gastrointestinal system organs are af.ected by COVID-19 *** aim of.this study is to review the gastrointestinal manif.stations and liver damage of.COVID-19 inf.ction and investigate the severe COVID-19 inf.ction risk in patients that have chronic gastrointestinal disease,along with current treatment guidelines.A literature search was conducted on electronic databases of.PubMed,Scopus,and Cochran Library,consisting of.COVID-19,liver injury,gastrointestinal system f.ndings,and *** and intestinal involvements are the most common ***,anorexia,nausea/vomiting,abdominal pain are the most f.equent symptoms seen in intestinal *** hepatitis occurs with elevated levels of.*** involvement is associated with long hospital stay,severity of.the disease,and intensive care unit *** and f.llow-up of.patients with inf.ammatory bowel diseases,cirrhosis,hepatocellular carcinoma,or liver transplant have been negatively af.ected during the *** with cirrhosis,hepatocellular carcinoma,auto-immune diseases,or liver transplantation may have a greater risk f.r severe *** or therapeutic procedures should be restricted with specif.c *** should be used in non-urgent periodic patient f.llow ***-19 treatment should not be delayed in patients at the risk ***-19 vaccination should be prioritized in this group.
