Background: Obesity and overweight negatively affect fertility. Protocols need?to be developed in ART treatments for obese and overweight women. Objectives: To investigate the effect of recombinant luteinizing hormone (rLH) addition to recombinant follicle stimulating hormone (rFSH) on treatment outcomes?in assisted reproductive technologies (ART) cycles in obese and overweight women without polycystic ovary syndrome. Methods: This retrospective cohort study was carried out in Kocaeli University Faculty of Medicine, Assisted Reproductive Techniques Clinic between January 2016 and March 2019. To analyze the impact of rLH addition to rFSH in GnRH antagonist cycles in overweight and obese, the patients were divided into four groups according to body mass index (BMI) and gonadotropin type;Group 1: patients with BMI ≥ 25 stimulated with rFSH alone (n: 37), Group 2: patients with BMI ≥ 25 stimulated with rFSH + rLH (n: 37), Group 3: patients with BMI between 18.5 - 24.99 stimulated with rFSH alone (n: 33), Group 4: patients with BMI between 18.5 and 24.99 stimulated with rFSH + rLH (n: 30). Patients with polycystic ovary syndrome were excluded. Results: Basal LH levels were found to be significantly lower in obese and overweight patients compared to normoweight patients (p = 0.01). Grade 1 embryo ratio in obese and overweight patients was higher in rLH added obese group than in group LH not included (64.9%, p = 0.005). Ongoing pregnancy rates (OPR) in obese and overweight patients were significantly higher in rLH added group compared to rFSH only group (43.2% vs 18.9% respectively, p = 0.044). However, OPR did not differ significantly in rLH added and rFSH only groups in normoweight patients (p = 0.588). Conclusion: This study has shown that obese and overweight non-PCOS patients have lower endogenous LH levels. Objective: The aim of the study was to compare the body fat distribution of women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)- with age and body mass index matched healthy controls and to investigate if androgens and insulin resistance associated with fat distribution. Study design: Thirty-three PCOS and 21 age and body mass index (BMI) matched healthy control women were evaluated in terms of body fat distribution with dual Xray absorpsiometry (DEXA). Blood samples were obtained for follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), estradiol, prolactin, thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), dehydroepiandrosterone-sulfate (DHEA- S), free testosterone, sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG), insulin and glucose levels. A 75g 2h glucosetolerance test was performed for each woman. Insulin resistance was estimated by fasting insulin level, fasting glucose/insulin ratio and 75 g 2 h glucose tolerance test. The Student’s t-test and Mann-Whitney U-test were used to compare the groups. Pearson and Spearman rank correlation coefficients were calculated for normally and nonnormally distributed variables, respectively. Partial correlation coefficients were calculated using age and BMI as covariates. Results: Fat mass in trunk and arms were significantly higher in patients with PCOS (p < 0.043 and 0.036, respectively). The ratio of fat mass in trunk to fat mass in legs were significantly higher in patients with PCOS (p < 0.011). Free testosterone was found to be positively correlated with fat mass in arms (r = 0.401, p < 0.05). There was still significant correlation between free testosterone and fat mass in arms (r = 0.5964, p < 0.05) after controlling for age and BMI. Conclusion: Free testosterone level is positively correlated with the fat mass in arms in women with PCOS.

AIM： To examine all skin changes in peritoneal dialysis （PD） patients followed up in our ***： Patients on PD program for at least three months without any known chronic skin disease were included in the study. Patients with already diagnosed skin disease, those who have systemic diseases that may cause skin lesions, patients with malignancies and those who did not give informed consent were excluded from the study. All patients were examined by the same predetermined dermatologist with all fndings recorded. The demographic, clinical and laboratory data including measures of dialysis adequacy of patients were recorded also. Statistical Package for Social Sciences （SPSS） for Windows 16.0 standard version was used for statistical ***： Among the patients followed up in our PD unit, those without exclusion criteria who gave informed consent, 38 patients were included in the study with male/female ratio and mean age of 26/12 and 50.3 ± 13.7 years, respectively. The duration of CKD was 7.86 ± 4.16 years and the mean PD duration was 47.1 ± 29.6 mo. Primary kidney disease was diabetic nephropathy in 11, nephrosclerosis in six, uropathologies in four, chronic glomerulonephritis in three, chronic pyelonephritis in three, autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease in three patients while cause was unknown in eight patients. All patients except for one patient had at least one skin lesion. Loss of lunula, onychomycosis and tinea pedis are the most frequent skin disorders recorded in the study group. Diabetic patients had tinea pedis more frequently （ P = 0.045）. No relationship of skin findings was detected with primary renal diseases, comorbidities and medications that the patients were ***： Skin abnormalities are common in in PD patients. The most frequent skin pathologies are onychomycosis and tinea pedis which must not be overlooked.

Fulminant hepatitis due to herpes simplex virus (HSV) is rare in immunocompetent adults. Most reported cas es have clearly established pregnancy as a condition that can predispose to disseminated HSV infection. We report a case of a 25-year-old previously healthy pregnant woman who presented with fatigue, fever, and anicteric hepatitis. Triphasic contrast enhanced computed tomography demonstrated a miliary pattern of multiple, hypovascular, subcentimeter lesions scattered throughout the liver. Familiarity with the clinical findings and computed tomographic appearance may prompt early recognition of fulminant HSV hepatitis and allow differentiation from other hepatic disease during pregnancy.
