Epilepsy Radiology Reports Classification Using Deep Learning Networks

The automatic and accurate classification of Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI)radiology report is essential for the analysis and interpretation epilepsy and *** the majority of MRI radiology reports are unstructured,the manual information extraction is time-consuming and requires specific *** this paper,a comprehensive method is proposed to classify epilepsy and non-epilepsy real brain MRI radiology text reports *** method combines the Natural Language Processing technique and statisticalMachine Learning methods.122 realMRI radiology text reports(97 epilepsy,25 non-epilepsy)are studied by our proposed method which consists of the following steps:(i)for a given text report our systems first cleans HTML/XML tags,tokenize,erase punctuation,normalize text,(ii)then it converts into MRI text reports numeric sequences by using indexbased word encoding,(iii)then we applied the deep learning models that are uni-directional long short-term memory(LSTM)network,bidirectional long short-term memory(BiLSTM)network and convolutional neural network(CNN)for the classifying comparison of the data,(iv)finally,we used 70%of used for training,15%for validation,and 15%for test *** previous methods,this study encompasses the following objectives:(a)to extract significant text features from radiologic reports of epilepsy disease;(b)to ensure successful classifying accuracy performance to enhance epilepsy data ***,our study is a comprehensive comparative study with the epilepsy dataset obtained from numeric sequences by using index-based word encoding method applied for the deep learning *** traditionalmethod is numeric sequences by using index-based word encoding which has been made for the first time in the literature,is successful feature descriptor in the epilepsy data *** BiLSTM network has shown a promising performance regarding the accuracy *** show that the larger sizedmedical text reports can be a

Classification of Epileptic Electroencephalograms Using Time-Frequency and Back Propagation Methods

Today,electroencephalography is used to measure brain activity by creating signals that are viewed on a *** signals are frequently used to obtain information about brain neurons and may detect disorders that affect the brain,such as ***(EEG)signals are however prone to *** artefacts must be removed to obtain accurate and meaningful ***,computer-aided systems have been used for this *** systems provide high computing power,problem-specific development,and other *** this study,a new clinical decision support system was developed for individuals to detect epileptic seizures using EEG *** classification results were obtained for the extracted filtered features from the time-frequency *** classification accuracies of the time-frequency features obtained from discrete continuous transform(DCT),fractional Fourier transform(FrFT),and Hilbert transform(HT)are *** neural networks(ANN)were applied,and back propagation(BP)was used as a learning *** studies in the literature describe a single BP *** contrast,we looked at several BP algorithms including gradient descent with momentum(GDM),scaled conjugate gradient(SCG),and gradient descent with adaptive learning rate(GDA).The most successful algorithm was tested using simulations made on three separate datasets(DCT_EEG,FrFT_EEG,and HT_EEG)that make up the input *** HT algorithm was the most successful EEG feature extractor in terms of classification accuracy rates in each EEG dataset and had the highest referred accuracy rates of the *** a result,HT_EEG gives the highest accuracy for all algorithms,and the highest accuracy of 87.38%was produced by the SCG algorithm.

Training Low-Achiever EFL Learners with Metacognitive Strategy Training for Effective Vocabulary Retention

There is ample research on the vocabulary learning strategies used by EFL and ESL ***,many researchers have attempted to discern the effectiveness of teaching vocabulary learning strategies ***,the impact of using metacognitive strategies along with vocabulary learning strategies on weak language learners has not been *** aim of this paper is to report on the effects of training low-achiever English as a foreign language learners with vocabulary learning strategies along with metacognitive strategies on vocabulary *** B1 level groups of students were assigned as treatment and control groups at a university in Istanbul,Turkey.A Vocabulary Strategy Use Survey was given to identify the vocabulary strategy use of the subjects at the outset of the *** treatment group was trained on vocabulary learning strategies combined with metacognitive strategy *** control group studied the same words without any training.A vocabulary test was administered to both groups as a post-test and the results were *** findings of the Post-Test demonstrated that training weak language learners with vocabulary learning strategies along with metacognitive strategies has a positive impact on helping these learners increase their lexical knowledge,as the experimental group scored higher on the post-test compared to the control group.

Background:Extra genetic material in patients with Down syndrome(DS)may affect the function of any organ *** evaluated cardiac functions using conventional tissue Doppler and two-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography in patients with DS in the absence of congenital and acquired heart disease in ***:A total of 115 patients with DS between 6 and 13 years of age with clinically and anatomically normal heart and 55 healthy children were included in this cross-sectional *** was diagnosed by a karyotype *** with mosaic type were not included in this *** and diastolic functions were evaluated by ***:Pulsed waved Doppler transmitral early/late inflow velocity(E/A),tissue Doppler mitral annular early/late diastolic peak velocity(Ea/Aa),transtricuspid E/A and tricuspid valve annulus Ea/Aa,pulmonary venous Doppler systolic/diastolic(S/D)wave ratio were lower in patients with Down syndrome than in the control group(P=0.04,P=0.001,P<0.05,P<0.001,P<0.001,respectively).Mitral and tricuspid annular Ea were lower in patients with DS(P<0.001).The right and left ventricular myocardial performance indexes were higher in patients with DS than in the controls(P<0.01).They had significantly higher left ventricular mass,ejection fraction,the mitral annular plane systolic excursion ***,the Down syndrome group compared with the controls had a lower strain values examined by two-dimensional longitudinal speckle-tracking strain ***:These findings suggest conventional tissue Doppler and two-dimensional longitudinal speckletracking strain echocardiography were useful methods of investigating ventricular function and identifying a higher incidence of biventricular dysfunction in patients with Down syndrome compared with the healthy controls.

Synthesis of Al-SrB_6 composite via powder metallurgy processing

The potential of powder metallurgy processing for the manufacture of Al?SrB6 composites was explored. Al4Sr particles fractured extensively during the ball milling of Al?15Sr/Al?4B powder mixtures. There was no interaction between the Al4Sr and AlB2 compounds across the section of the aluminium grains in the as-milled state. SrB6 formed, when the ball milled powder blends were subsequently annealed at sufficiently high temperatures. Ball milling for 1 h was sufficient for SrB6 to become the major constituent in powder blends annealed at 700 °C while it took 2 h of ball milling for powder blends annealed at 600 °C. Higher annealing temperatures and longer ball milling time encouraged the formation of the SrB6 compound while the latter made a great impact on the microstructural features of the Al?SrB6 composite. The SrB6 compound particles were much smaller and more uniformly distributed across the aluminium matrix grains in powder grains ball milled for 2 h before the annealing treatments at 600 °C and 700 °C.

Precipitation during homogenization cooling in AlMgSi alloys

Precipitation during the industrial cool down takes place predominantly above 300 °C in the EN AW 6082 and 6005 alloys. The phase precipitation throughout cooling is equilibrium phase. A considerable capacity is retained after the cool down for further precipitation during a subsequent heating cycle. The β-Mg 2 Si is once again the predominant phase that forms during a scan heating cycle employed in exactly the same manner with the industrial billet preheating operation. The precipitation in the 6060 alloy, on the other hand, occurs predominantly below 300 °C with additionally ′-Mg 2 Si particles formed below 200 °C.

Exploration of the Townsend regime by discharge light emission in a gas discharge device

The Townsend discharge mechanism has been explored in a planar microelectronic gas discharge device （MGDD） with different applied voltages U and interelectrode distance d under various pressures in air. The anode and the cathode of the MGDD are formed by a transparent SnO2 covered glass and a GaAs semiconductor, respectively. In the experiments, the discharge is found to be unstable just below the breakdown voltage Ub, whereas the discharge passes through a homo- geneous stable Townsend mode beyond the breakdown voltage. The measurements are made by an electrical circuit and a CCD camera by recording the currents and light emission （LE） intensities. The intensity profiles, which are converted from the 3D light emission images along the semiconductor diameter, have been analysed for different system parameters. Dif- ferent instantaneous conductivity ~t regimes are found below and beyond the Townsend region. These regimes govern the current and spatio-temporal LE stabilities in the plasma system. It has been proven that the stable LE region increases up to 550 Torr as a function of pressure for small d. If the active area of the semiconductor becomes larger and the interlectrode distance d becomes smaller, the stable LE region stays nearly constant with pressure.
