Genetic association study of P2x7 A1513C(rs 3751143) polymorphism and susceptibility to pulmonary tuberculosis: A meta-analysis based on the findings of 11 case-control studies

Objective:To summarize the precise association between pulmonary tuberculosis(PTB) and P2x7 A1513 C gene ***:Pubmed and Google Scholar web-databases were searched for the studies reporting the association of P2x7 A1513 C polymorphism and PTB risk.A meta-analysis was performed for the selected case-control studies and pooled odds ratios(ORs) and 95%confidence intervals(95%CIs) were calculated for all the genetic ***:Eleven studies comprising 2 678 controls and 2 113 PTB cases were included in this *** observed overall no significant risk in all the five genetic *** stratified population by the ethnicity,Caucasian population failed to show any risk of PTB in all the genetics *** Asian ethnicity,variant allele(C vs.A:P=0.001;QR=1.375,95%CI=1.159-1.632) and heterozygous genotype(AC ***:P=0.001;OR=1.570,95%CI=1.269-1.944) demonstrated significant increased risk of ***,recessive genetic model(CC+AC ***:P=0.001;OR=1.540,95%CI= 1.255-1.890) also demonstrated increased risk of PTB in ***:Our meta-analysis did not suggest the association of P2x7 A1513 C polymorphism with PTB risk in overall or separately in Caucasian ***,it plays a significant risk factor for predisposing PTB in *** larger sample and expression studies are needed to validate this association.

BACKGROUND In hepatology,the clinical use of endoscopic ultrasound(EUS)has experienced a notable increase in recent *** applications range from the diagnosis to the treatment of various liver ***,this systematic review summarizes the evidence for the diagnostic and therapeutic roles of EUS in liver *** To examine and summarize the current available evidence of the possible roles of the EUS in making a suitable diagnosis in liver diseases as well as the therapeutic accuracy and *** Pubmed,medline,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,and Google Scholar databases were extensively searched until October *** methodological quality of the eligible articles was assessed using the Newcastle-Ottawa scale or Cochrane Risk of Bias *** addition,statistical analyses were performed using the Comprehensive meta-Analysis *** Overall,45 articles on EUS were included(28 on diagnostic role and 17 on therapeutic role).Pooled analysis demonstrated that EUS diagnostic tests had an accuracy of 92.4%for focal liver lesions(FLL)and 96.6%for parenchymal liver ***-guided liver biopsies with either fine needle aspiration or fine needle biopsy had low complication rates when sampling FLL and parenchymal liver diseases(3.1%and 8.7%,respectively).Analysis of data from four studies showed that EUS-guided liver abscess had high clinical(90.7%)and technical success(90.7%)without significant ***,EUS-guided interventions for the treatment of gastric varices(GV)have high technical success(98%)and GV obliteration rate(84%)with few complications(15%)and rebleeding events(17%).CONCLUSION EUS in liver diseases is a promising technique with the potential to be considered a first-line therapeutic and diagnostic option in selected cases.

Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography vs endoscopic ultrasound-guided biliary drainage:A systematic review

BACKGROUND Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography is a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure that involves inserting a needle into the biliary tree,followed by the immediate insertion of a *** ultrasound-guided biliary drainage(EUS-BD)is a novel technique that allows BD by echoendoscopy and fluoroscopy using a stent from the biliary tree to the gastrointestinal *** To compare the technical aspects and outcomes of percutaneous transhepatic BD(PTBD)and *** Different databases,including Pubmed,Embase,***,the Cochrane library,Scopus,and Google Scholar,were searched according to the guidelines for Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and meta-Analyses to obtain studies comparing PTBD and *** Among the six studies that fulfilled the inclusion criteria,PTBD patients underwent significantly more reinterventions(4.9 vs 1.3),experienced more postprocedural pain(4.1 vs 1.9),and experienced more late adverse events(53.8%vs 6.6%)than EUS-BD *** was a significant reduction in the total bilirubin levels in both the groups(16.4-3.3μmol/L and 17.2-3.8μmol/L for EUSBD and PTBD,respectively;P=0.002)at the 7-d *** were no significant differences observed in the complication rates between PTBD and EUSBD(3.3 vs 3.8).PTBD was associated with a higher adverse event rate than EUSBD in all the procedures,including reinterventions(80.4%vs 15.7%,respectively)and a higher index procedure(39.2%vs 18.2%,respectively).CONCLUSION The findings of this systematic review revealed that EUS-BD is linked with a higher rate of effective BD and a more manageable procedure-related adverse event profile than *** findings highlight the evidence for successful EUS-BD implementation.

Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is a kind of progressive dementia that is frequently accompanied by brain *** the use of the morpho-logical characteristics of mRI brain scans,this paper proposed a method for diagnosing moderate cognitive impairment(mCI)and *** anatom-ical features of 818 subjects were calculated using the FreeSurfer software,and the data were taken from the ADNI *** features were first removed from the dataset after being preprocessed with an age correction algorithm using linear regression to estimate the effects of normal *** these preprocessed characteristics,the extreme learning machine served as a classifier for the diagnosis of AD and *** determining accuracy,sensitivity,specificity,and area under the curve,ten-fold cross validation was *** accuracy of AD diagnosis was 87.62 percent on average after 100 runs,while the area under curve was 94.25 *** sensitivity of the mCI diagnosis was 83.88 percent,while the accuracy was 73.38 *** age correction can help diagnose mCI more *** outcomes showed that the proposed strategy for diagnosing AD and mCI was more effective than existing methods.

Objective:The current systematic review aimed to assess the impact of smoking cessation counseling(SCC)on patients’short-and long-term mor tality after acute myocardial infarction(AmI).methods:The Cochrane guidelines were used to conduct a systematic review of medline(Pub med),Science Direct,CINAHL Cochrane database,and Google Scholar for studies on the impact of SCC on AmI patients’mor ***:Five studies were found to meet the predefined inclusion *** patients were not routinely counseled to quit smoking during their post-AmI hospital *** showed a reduction in mor tality among AmI patients’who received SCC compared with patients who did not receive ***:SCC during hospitalization and after discharge is a simple and cost-effective intervention that improves AmI patients’survival.

With the expansive demand for video streaming over mobile networks,it is necessary to adopt schemes that balance the need for high video quality with the available network resources when streaming or downloading the *** approaches were proposed in the literature,including Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP(DASH).In this work,we consider an approach in which we place sufficient emphasis on the constrained battery resources in mobile devices when making decisions on the quality(or bitrate)of the video to be *** is done by using a fuzzy logic controller that enhances the performance of the Fuzzy-based DASH(FDASH)*** results show that our proposed approach conserves more energy than its predecessor while maintaining similar video quality and avoiding playback interruptions.

medulloblastoma(mB)is considered the commonest malignant brain tumor in *** treatments consisting of surgery,radiation,and chemotherapy have improved patients’***,the recurrence occurs in 30%of *** persistent mortality rates,the failure of current therapies to extend life expectancy,and the serious complications of non-targeted cytotoxic treatment indicate the need for more refined therapeutic *** mBs originating from the neurons of external granular layer line the outer surface of neocerebellum and responsible for the afferent and efferent ***,mBs have been segregated into four molecular subgroups:Wingless-activated(WNT-mB)(Group 1);Sonichedgehog-activated(SHH-mB)(Group 2);Group 3 and 4 *** molecular alterations follow specific gene mutations and disease-risk *** current treatment protocols and ongoing clinical trials against these molecular subgroups are still using common chemotherapeutic agents by which their efficacy have improved the progression-free survival but did not change the overall ***,the need to explore new therapies targeting specific receptors in mB microenvironment became *** immune microenvironment of mBs consists of distinctive cellular heterogeneities including immune cells and none-immune *** associate macrophage and tumour infiltrating lymphocyte are considered the main principal cells in tumour microenvironment,and their role are still under *** this review,we discuss the mechanism of interaction between mB cells and immune cells in the microenvironment,with an overview of the recent investigations and clinical trials.
