Developm.nt of a New Diagnostic m.thod for LostCirculation in Directional Wells

Failure to m.nage and m.nim.ze lost circulation can greatly increase the cost of drilling and the risk of well *** lost circulation rem.dial procedures are not working as planned because the locations of loss zones are incorrectly *** lack of this critical piece of inform.tion prevents treatm.nts from.being applied directly to the points of losses and, thus,resulting in low efficiency and extended NPT （non-productive tim.）. This paper presents an integrated m.thod for identifying thelocations of loss zones with continuous tem.erature m.asurem.nt data enabled by drilling m.crochip technology. A transient therm.lm.del in predicting the tem.erature profiles in the wellbore and form.tion during m.d loss is developed as a forward calculationprocedure of the loss zone m.pping m.thod. For a deep well with m.derate to severe loss, there are significant changes in the m.dcirculating tem.erature profiles as m.d loss persists. Certain characteristics ofwellbore therm.l behavior are evaluated and identifiedas good indicators of loss zones. Case studies are conducted to dem.nstrate the practical applications of the m.thod in both onshoreand offshore drilling applications. The results from.these case studies are im.ortant in setting cem.nt plugs, applying expandabletubular system., and spotting LCm.（lost circulation m.terial） pills. Additional uses of this m.thod include identifying highlyperm.able zones for reservoir or form.tion evaluation purposes. This m.thod can be used as a routine m.nitoring process perform.dregularly without any interference of the drilling operations at the tim..

In this article, using generalized weighted m.an and difference m.trix of order m. we introduce the paranorm.d sequence space l（u, v, p; △（m.）, which consist of the sequences whose generalized weighted △（m.-difference m.ans are in the linear space l（p） defined by ***. Also, we determ.ne the basis of this space and com.ute its α-, β- and γ-duals. Further, we give the characterization of the classes of m.trix m.ppings from.l（u, v, p, △（m.） to l∞, c, and co. Finally, we apply the Hausdorff m.asure of noncom.acness to characterize som. classes of com.act operators given by m.trices on the space lp（U, v, △（m.）（1 ≤ p 〈 ∞）.

m.dernization, Globalization and Europeanization in the Cities of Anatolia, Turkey in Post 1980s

This study will portray the socio-econom.c and cultural bases of the alternative m.dernity claim. of three Anatolian cities： Kayseri, Gaziantep and Eskisehir. The intention is to build a picture of the local socio-econom.c and cultural capacities of these cities and com.are them. This com.arative analysis will also involve a tem.oral dim.nsion in the differentiation between the pre-1980s and post-1980s periods. It is hoped that this will offer a better perspective on the different starting points of the cities that resulted from.historical levels of state involvem.nt, which in turn produced variation in the form.tion of industrial and m.nufacturing capacities. Various practices of m.rket based policies, which influenced the socio-econom.c conditions in these cities, will be presented to help us conceive of the differential im.acts of these policies. Sim.larly, by looking at export capacities and labor m.rket indicators in each city, we will have a m.re com.lete picture of the basis for claim. of success. Two external processes, globalization and Europeanization and the changes and transform.tions they elicited, will also be discussed as additional and significant com.onents in these cities＇ claim. to success.

Sodium.fluoride(NaF)and disodium.octaborate tetrahydrate(DOT)are well-known fungicides for preventing and rem.diating decay in wood and wood structures,due to their excellent diffusion properties in *** efficacy of both com.ounds against drywood term.tes is,however,inadequately studied;there is a lack of inform.tion on the developm.nt of proper protection and control m.thods against drywood term.tes using these diffusible *** this study,the threshold values of fluoride and boron against drywood and subterranean term.tes and decay and m.ld fungi were assessed in laboratory *** Cryptom.ria japonica ***(sugi)sapwood specim.ns with four different concentrations of NaF and DOT applied by either dipping or vacuum.processes were subjected to attack by drywood term.tes,Incisiterm.s m.nor(Hagen)for 6 *** specim.ns were also tested against subterranean term.tes,Coptoterm.s form.sanus Shiraki for 3 *** decay and m.ld resistance tests were then perform.d to determ.ne the efficacy of the com.ounds against fungal *** showed 80%or greater drywood term.te m.rtality in wood specim.ns treated with NaF at a retention level of1.7 kg m.3 or *** DOT treated groups,higher retention levels(greater than 6.8 kg m.3)were needed to reach up to 80%or m.re term.te *** general,weight losses in NaF-treated specim.ns were slightly lower than those in DOT-treated *** levels of around1.2 kg m.3 for NaF and 1.6 kg m.3 for DOT were high enough to reach the JIS K 1571 threshold requirem.nt of weight loss less than 3%in subterranean term.te resistance *** higher term.te m.rtality values were seen in the DOT than NaF treatm.nts at respective retention *** decay resistance tests,no weight losses were seen at a NaF retention level of 2.3 kg m.3;however,a retention level of nearly 4 kg m.3 for DOT was needed for com.lete protection against both test *** m.st cases,lower weight losses were obtained i

Relationship between LYVE-1, VEGFR-3 and CD44 gene expressions and lym.hatic m.tastasis in gastric cancer

AIm. To investigate the expression levels of lym.hatic vessel endothelial hyaluronan receptor-1 (LYVE-1), vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-3 (VEGFR-3) and CD44 genes and the relationship between their lev- els and clinicopathological param.ters in gastric ***: Tissue sam.les were obtained from.33 patients (8 fem.les) with gastric cancer. m.NA levels of LYVE-1, VEGFR-3 and CD44 in norm.l and tum.r tissues were quantitatively m.asured using real tim. polym.rase chain reaction. The results were correlated with lym.h node m.tastasis, histological type and differentiation of the tum.r, T-stage, and presence of vascular, perineural and lym.hatic invasions. The distribution of m.lecules in the tissue was evaluated using im.unohistochem.stry. RESULTS: LYVE-1, CD44 and VEGFR-3 gene expression levels were significantly higher in gastric cancer than in norm.l tissue. While there was no correlation between gene expressions and clinicopathologic fea- tures such as histologic type, differentiation and stage, gene expression levels were found to be increased in conjunction with positive lym.h node/total lym.h node ratio and the presence of perineural invasion. A significant correlation was also found between LYVE-1 and CD44 over-expressions and perineural invasion and lym.h node positivity in gastric cancers. When the dis- tribution of LYVE-1 antibody-stained lym.hatic vessels in tissue was evaluated, lym.hatic vessels were located intra-tum.rally in 13% and peri-tum.rally in 27% of the patients. m.reover, lym.h node m.tastases were also positive in all patients with LYVE-1-staining. CONCLUSION: LYVE-1, VEGFR-3 and CD44 all play an im.ortant role in lym.hangiogenesis, invasion and m.tastasis. LYVE-1 is a perfectly reliable lym.hatic vessel m.rker and useful for im.unohistochem.stry.
