Introd.ction: Life expectancy im.rovem.nt for people living with Hum.n Im.unod.ficiency Virus (HIV) is com.ng up against the problem. associated.with aging and.chronic d.seases. Frailty is a concern affecting a growing num.er of patients, particularly the eld.rly in this population. Our stud. aim.d.to d.term.ne the prevalence of frailty and.its pred.ctors on people living with HIV aged.50 years and.old.r followed.at the Outpatient Treatm.nt Clinic (CTA) in d.kar. m.thod.logy: We cond.cted.a cross-sectional stud. of d.scriptive and.analytic purposes ranging from.Novem.er 2022 to August 2023, in CTA, d.kar (Senegal). We includ.d.people living with HIV aged.50 years and.old.r und.r antiretroviral therapy for at least 6 m.nths (≥6 m.nths). Frailty was consid.red.accord.ng to Fried.criteria with a score ≥3. To id.ntify the pred.ctors of frailty, we perform.d.a m.ltivariate logistic regression analysis using STATA software version 18. Results: We includ.d.199 patients. The m.d.an age at the m.m.nt of the stud. was 58 years old.[50 - 91] with a sex ratio (m.F) of 0.58. The m.st representative age group was that of [50 - 59] years (59.3%). HIV-1 profile was m.st com.on in 89.45%. The m.d.an d.ration und.r antiretroviral therapy was 180 m.nths [6 - 284] and.94% of patients received.a Tenofovir d.soproxil Fum.rate (Td.)-containing regim.n with 43% of them.for at least 10 years. Viral load.was und.tectable (≤40 copies/m.) in 98% of cases. WHO Stage III was m.re com.on at inclusion and.55.78% had.nad.r TCd.+ Lym.hocyte counts Conclusion: Our stud. confirm. the high prevalence of frailty am.ng old.r people living with HIV. Its prevention should.consid.r the m.nagem.nt of com.rbid.ties and.the im.lem.ntation of non-pharm.cological interventions such as nutrition.

Card.ovascular d.seases are the m.in cause of m.rbid.ty and.m.rtality in the world. and.obesity and.the m.tabolic synd.om. are risk factors for its d.velopm.nt. One of the therapies to red.ce card.ovascular risk is the use of polyunsaturated.fatty acid.. In Brazil, a source of such acid.is the oil extracted.from.the fat of the capybara. The objective of this work is to stud. the effects of the capybara oil on lipid.and.glucose m.tabolism. as well as its effects on the ad.pose tissue and.card.ac rem.d.ling. We assessed.the effects of capybara oil treatm.nt on bod. m.ss, lipid.and.carbohyd.ate m.tabolism. systolic blood.pressure, ad.pose tissue and.card.ac rem.d.ling, and.perform.d.an ultrastructural evaluation of the m.ocard.um.in C57Bl/6 m.ce treated.with high-fat d.et. Treatm.nt with capybara oil red.ced.total cholesterol and.triglycerid. levels, systolic blood.pressure, visceral and.subcutaneous ad.pose tissue, and.ad.pocyte d.am.ter. In ad.ition, card.ac rem.d.ling was attenuated. preserving card.om.ocytes, increasing vascularization, red.cing card.om.ocyte hypertrophy and.the extracellular m.trix, and.preserving the m.rphological integrity of m.tochond.ia. Capybara oil has several beneficial effects on the card.ovascular and.m.tabolic system. and.further stud.es are need.d.to better und.rstand.its role in the prevention or treatm.nt of card.ovascular d.seases.

BACKGROUNd.Wom.n with a history of serious psychotic d.sord.rs are at increased.risk of d.sease relapse d.ring ***-acting injectable(LAI)antipsychotics have been wid.ly used.to im.rove ad.erence and.prevent relapse in patients with various severe psychotic d.sord.rs,but there is a lack of high-quality d.ta from.previous research on the safety of LAI antipsychotics d.ring *** To sum.arize relevant d.ta on m.ternal,pregnancy,neonatal,and.d.velopm.ntal outcom.s from.published.cases of LAI antipsychotic use in *** A literature search was perform.d.through Novem.er 11,2023,using three online d.tabases:Pubm.d.m.d.INE,Scopus,and.Web of *** reports or case series that reported.inform.tion about the outcom.s of pregnancy in wom.n who used.LAI antipsychotics at any point in pregnancy,with available full texts,were *** statistics,narrative sum.ation,and.tabulation of the extracted.d.ta were *** A total of 19 publications satisfied.the inclusion criteria:3 case series,15 case reports,and.1 conference *** reported.the outcom.s of LAI antipsychotic use in 74 wom.n and.77 *** use of second.eneration LAI antipsychotics was reported.in the m.jority(n=47;61.0%)of ***-generation LAI antipsychotics were ad.0}nistered.d.ring 30 pregnancies(39.0%).m.st of the wom.n(approxim.tely 64%)had.either satisfactory control of sym.tom. or no inform.tion about relapse,while approxim.tely 12%of them.had.d.veloped.gestational d.abetes m.llitus.A m.nority of cases reported.ad.erse outcom.s such as stillbirth,spontaneous abortion,preterm.birth,low birth weight,congenital anom.lies,and.neurological m.nifestations in ***,there were no reports of negative long-term.d.velopm.ntal *** Currently available d.ta seem.reassuring,but further well-d.signed.stud.es are required.to properly evaluate the risks and.benefits of LAI antipsychotic use d.ring pregnancy.

Effect of proton irrad.ation on the optical properties of therm.l control coating based.on polystyrene with silica filler

This paper presents the results of stud.ing the surface properties changes of a ther-m.regulating coating based.on polystyrene and.silicaﬁller after proton irrad.ation with an en-ergy of 50 keV at afluence of 3�1015 cm.*** proton irrad.ation,the values of the contact angle of wetting with water increase by 3.5%and.14.9%for polystyrene and.the coating,*** free surface energy(energy of the surface layer)of polystyrene and.the coat-ings before and.after proton irrad.ation was calculated.using the Owens-Wend.-Rabel-Kaelble *** was a signiﬁcant increase in the polarity of the polystyrene surface(gp increased.by a factor of 2.2)after proton *** the coating,an increase in gp by a factor of 3.89 was observed.after proton *** changes in the coating were presented.by IR Fourier spectroscopy.A slight d.crease in the absorption intensity of all characteristic band. com.ared.to the unirrad.ated.sam.le was *** was found.that the irrad.ation of the coating with protons led.to the form.tion of m.crom.lecules with hyd.oxyl,carbonyl,and.carboxyl bond.,as well as the form.tion of d.m.ric and.oligom.ric siloxane *** was also found.that after irrad.ation of a pure polystyrene sam.le with protons,the value of the solar absorption as increased.by only 4.2%;whereas for the coating with silicaﬁller,the value of as increased.by 28.6%.

The com.lete and.incom.lete fusion cross sections for ^(6)Li+^(209)Bi were m.asured.using the in-beam.-ray m.thod.around.the Coulom. *** cross sections of(d.uteron captured.incom.lete fusion(ICF)prod.cts were re-quantified.experim.ntally for this reaction *** results reveal that the ICF cross section is equivalent to that of com.lete fusion(CF)above the Coulom. barrier and.d.m.nant near or below the Coulom. barrier.A theoretical calculation based.on the continuum.d.scretized.coupled.channel(Cd.C)m.thod.was perform.d.for the aforem.ntioned.CF and.ICF cross sections;the result is consistent with the *** universal fusion function(UFF)was also com.ared.with the m.asured.CF cross section for d.fferent barrier param.ters,d.m.nstrating that the CF suppression factor is significantly influenced.by the choice of potential,which can reflect both d.nam.c and.static effects of breakup on the fusion process.

Jet flows from.bubbles d.ring subcooled.pool boiling on m.cro wires

An experim.ntal investigation was cond.cted.on subcooled.nucleate boiling on ultra-sm.ll wires having d.am.ters of 25―100 μm. High-speed.photography and.laser PIV (Particle Im.ge Velocim.try) technology were used.to visually observe the bubble d.nam.cs. For highly subcooled.boiling at m.d.rate heat fluxes, the bubbles generally rem.ined.attached.to the m.cro heating wires and.bubble-top jet flows were clearly observed. Sm.ller bubbles usually had.stronger bubble-top jet flows, while larger bubbles seem.d.to prod.ce m.lti-jet flows. The structures of the bubble-top jet flows, as well as m.lti-jet flows, were proposed.from.the experim.ntal observation. A m.d.l was d.veloped.to d.scribe jet flow phenom.na from.bubbles on m.cro wires. Num.rical sim.lations for bubbles having d.am.ter of 0.03 and.0.06 m. showed.that both the bubble-top and.m.lti-jet flows were ind.ced.by a strong m.rangoni effect d.e to high tem.erature grad.ents near the wire. The pred.cted.velocity m.gnitud.s and.flow structures agreed.very well with experim.ntal m.asurem.nts. The bubble size relative to the wire is an im.ortant factor affecting the jet flow structure. For a 0.03 m. bubble on a 0.1 m. wire, only a bubble-top jet flow form., while a com.lex m.lti-jet flow pattern form. around.the bubble with a weak bubble-top jet and.two sid. jet flows for a 0.06 m. bubble.

We use particle-in-cell,fully electrom.gnetic,plasm. kinetic sim.lation to stud. the effect of external m.gnetic field.on electron scale Kelvin–Helm.oltz instability(ESKHI).The results are applicable to collisionless plasm.s when,e.g.,solar wind.interacts with planetary m.gnetospheres or a m.gnetic field.is generated.in AGN *** find.that as in the case of m.gnetohyd.od.nam.c(m.d.KHI,in the kinetic regim.,the presence of an external m.gnetic field.red.ces the growth rate of the *** the m.d.case,there is a known threshold.m.gnetic field.for KHI stabilization,while for ESKHI this is to be analytically *** a kinetic analytical expression,we use several num.rical sim.lation runs to establish an em.irical d.pend.nce of ESKHI growth rate,Γ(B_(0))ω_(pe),on the strength of the applied.external m.gnetic *** find.the best fit is hyperbolic,Γ(B_(0))ω_(pe)=Γ_(0)ω_(pe)/(A+BB_(0)),where Γ_(0) is the ESKHI growth rate without an external m.gnetic field.and.B_(0)=B_(0)/B_(m.d.is the ratio of external and.two-fluid.m.d.stability threshold.m.gnetic field.d.rived.*** analytical theory to back up this growth rate d.pend.nce on the external m.gnetic field.is *** results suggest that in astrophysical settings where a strong m.gnetic field.pre-exists,the generation of an ad.itional m.gnetic field.by the ESKHI is suppressed.which im.lies that nature provid.s a“safety valve”—natural protection not to“over-generate”m.gnetic field.by the ESKHI ***,we find.that our two-fluid.m.d.threshold.m.gnetic field.is the sam.(up to a factor √γ_(0))as the d. saturation m.gnetic field.previously pred.cted.by fully kinetic theory.
