Chordoma Sociodemographic, Clinical and Therapeutic Aspects in National Institute of Oncology Rabat Morocco: A Report of 9 Cases

Introduction: Chordoma is a rare bone tumor, which develops mainly from the sacrum, the base of the skull, or the spine. Surgery + radiotherapy (if necessary) is the standard treatment. Data on chordoma are scarce in this region, and thus, here we summarized 9 patients with this tumor whom we treated in this institute. Material: Nine chordoma patients were summarized, who were treated in National Institute of Oncology in Rabat between 2013 and 2018. We retrieved data from medical charts and analyzed the clinical characteristics of this tumor. Results: The average age was 49 years (range: 29 - 72), with male: female of 3:6. The manifestation-diagnosis time was 4 months (range: 2 - 14). Regarding the tumor location, lumbosacral spine;5, the skull;4. Mass was evident in 6. Signs of locoregional compressions (paraparesis or tetraparesis) were observed in 3. As for treatment, a partial tumor excision was performed in 8, with 3 patients undergoing a wide excision. Radiotherapy was done;3 patients with a dose of 46 Gy, 3 patients with 66 Gy, 1 patient with 50 Gy, and 1 patient with a 16 Gy gamma radio-knife in a single session. 4 patients with a dose of 46 Gy, 2 patients with 60 Gy, and 1 patient with a 16 Gy gamma radio-knife in a single session. Introduction: To determine the proportion and the reasons which lead to palliative treatment in patients initially a candidate for concomitant chemoradiotherapy (CCRT). Methods: A retrospective study including patients followed for locally advanced lung cancer newly diagnosed from April 1, 2016, to 12/31/2017 in the radiotherapy department of the National Oncology Institute who received palliative treatment. Results: We collected 52 patients out of a total of 225 stage III patients (23%) followed by lung cancer candidates for CCRT who had undergone palliative treatment. The mean age in our series was 61.23 years [22 - 81] with 86% male. The majority of patients (71%) had Performance Status (PS) ≤ 2. Histological confirmation was obtained by pathological examination in all our patients. It was an adenocarcinoma (ADK) in 54% of cases;squamous cell carcinoma in 46% of cases. The reasons for palliative treatment were mainly due to dosimetric constraints: large tumor volume 22/52 (42%);the tumor location close to the bone marrow in 15 of 52 (29%) patients;and general Performance Status impairment (29%) in 15 of 52 patients. The utilization of waste feedstocks rich in free fatty acids(FFAs)improves biofuel production on the basis of economics and ***,converting these feedstocks to usable biofuel poses inherent problems in terms of the FFA to biofuel conversion yield and the catalyst ***,we report novel ferric sulfate impregnated carbon derived from waste tires as highly active catalysts for FFA to biofuel *** approach takes advantage of facile synthesis methods involving sonication and dehydration processes to create materials that are useful for the efficient catalytic conversion of FFAs to advanced *** of FFAs to fatty acid methyl esters was achieved at 65C and atmospheric pressure with>98%yield even in the presence of *** catalysts maintained similar activity after four successive uses,which indicates that the active catalytic sites are effectively supported by the three-dimensional meso/microporous architecture of the tire-derived carbon.

The a-amino acid derivatives constitute a class of compounds of particular medicinal and synthetic attention and considerable interest has been devoted to their synthesis in recent *** the present work,we develop the computational study of the synthesis reaction of new pyrazolyl a-amino esters derivatives using the Gaussian 09based on the dET/B3LYP density functional theorv method,with the base 6-31G(d.p)to ensure the possibility of carrying out these reactions within the laboratory of ***,this research has encouraged us to establish an economical synthesis strategy of these products in overall vields of 73.5%to 87%to have access to new active biomolecule through the O-alkvlation reaction between methyl a-azidoglycinate N-benzoylated and primary pyrazole alcohols(3,5-dimethyl-1 H-pyrazol-1-yl)methanol,(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methanol and(3-ethoxy-5-methyl-1H-pyrazol-1yl)methanoll under different operating *** structure of the prepared heterocyclic systems was characterized by conventional spectroscopic techniques,like H NMR.I3℃NMR,and *** results revealed that the experimental study is in good correlation with the computational one.

Background and Purpose: Paragangliomas are rare tumors of the head and neck. Their management remains problematic and varies considerably depending on the center. This study reported 14 years of experience in the management of head and neck paraganglioma (HNPGls). We aimed to assess the therapeutic results of these tumors in terms of local control and overall survival. Materials and Methods: We included 16 patients followed for HNPGls and treated by radiotherapy from January 2006 to June 2018 in the National Institute of Oncology in Rabat. Results: The median age was 44.5 years (15 - 67). 13 patients were female and three male with a sex ratio of 4.3. Cervical mass was the common sign (56.dana;">3%). Management of Pregnant Women with Invasive Cervical Cancer about Ten Cases

The purpose of this study was to update the management of invasive cervical cancers diagnosed during pregnancy. Patients and methods: This study was performed retrospectively at radiotherapy department of National Institute of Oncology Rabat Morocco. From 01/04/2005 to 31/05/2010, ten patients with invasive cervical cancer during pregnancy were included. Results: Ten patients were included in the study. The staging was as follow: stage IIIB (n = 4);stage IIB (n = 2) and stage IB2 (n = 4). The radical abdominal hysterectomy with pelvic lymphadenectomy was performed in five patients;a therapeutic interruption of pregnancy was performed in four patients. One pregnancy has resulted in the birth of a living child (by cesarean section). Adjuvant treatment was concomitant chemoradiotherapy followed by low dose rate (LdR) brachytherapy in three patients;adjuvant concomitant chemoradiotherapy followed by high dose rate (HdR) brachytherapy was performed in four patients;a HdR brachytherapy was done in one patient. Two patients have received an exclusive external radiotherapy. After a median follow-up of 4 years (2 - 7 years), there were bone and lung metastases in one patient. Nine patients are alive after completed treatment. Conclusion: Our series focused on ten patients with invasive cervical cancer during pregnancy. Management is complex and requires discussion in a multidisciplinary meeting. Routine screening of cervical cancer and awareness are the key point to improve the treatment and survival rate of patients. The management of all cases is according to international recommendations.
