The potato crop in Peru is the main income and food source for the smallholder of the highland grower of the Peruvian *** urban population,it represents one of the main components of the food basket and for commercial *** is the main brokerage product considering its volume and *** facilitate the adoption and diffusion of new potato cultivars after its release,adequate methodologies are necessary to apply during the process of evaluation and *** of these methodologies is called participatory varietal selection(PVS).The objective of this study was to identify new potato cultivars and/or genotypes with resistance or tolerance to adverse effects of climate change applying PVS,in order to obtain new varieties with acceptable economic *** this way potato growers of the Peruvian highland Andes should benefit through the improvement of their economic status,food security and overall life *** 2016-2017,three potato clones(CIP393079.4,CIP387096.2 and CIP396034.268)and two commercial varieties(Unica,Canchan)were evaluated at eight Peruvian locations in three regions(Huánuco,Junín and Huancavelica).Data were analyzed using a randomized complete block design,with three *** criteria for selection were late blight resistance,abundant foliage,drought tolerance,yield and uniform and healthy *** all three regions the three best clones selected were CIP396034.268,CIP393079.4 and CIP387096.2,ranking in first,second and third place,*** and women selected the same clones,but in a different *** cultivars ranked 4th and ***,local growers selected Canchan,CIP387096.2 and CIP393079.4 based on appearance,texture and taste *** last two clones(CIP387096.2 and CIP393079.4)should be considered for a future release.

Human Facial expressions exhibits the inner *** the inner personality is performed through questionnaires during recruitment ***,the evaluation through questionnaires performs less due to anxiety,and stress during interview and prediction of leadership quality becomes a challenging *** the above problem,Temporal sequence based SENet architecture(TSSA)is proposed for accurate evaluation of personality trait for employing the correct person for leadership ***,SENet is integration with modern architectures for performance *** Proposed TSSA,face book facial images of a particular person for a period of one month and face images collect from different social environments and forms the sequential facial image database are analysed for personality trait *** a days,Facebook plays a vital role,where people express their emotions by posting images and updating their proﬁle *** TSSA method,50 Facebook temporal sequence of images of person with answered questionaries during the face image collection forms as a Temporal sequence image(TSI)database for prediction of the Big Five personal-ity *** order to get precise prediction,we have analysed the face images that were posted in a period of one month and validated the result with the next month face images from face *** images for predicting the personality,where asked toﬁll the Questionnaires through Google Forms increase the accuracy in *** TSSA prediction results are utilized for assessment of a person’s conscientiousness for leadership quality *** study implements Deep Learning algorithm with SENet architecture and compares with traditional *** the validation results the proposed TSSA method performs 96%of accuracy in conscientiousness prediction.

Synthesis and evaluation of some new oxazolones and imidazolones as antioxidant additives for Egyptian lubricating oils

Oxazolone derivative 2 was utilized as a key intermediate for synthesis of some new oxazolone and imidazolone derivatives. Reaction of oxazolone derivative 2 with diamines under different conditions afforded the corresponding imidazolone derivatives 3-8, respectively. Moreover, oxazolone 2 reacted with some heterocyclic amines in glacial acetic acid giving the corresponding imidazolone derivatives 9-14, respectively. Cyclocondensation of thiosemicarbazide with compound 2 in dry pyridine afforded compound 15. Addition of secondary amines to olefin double bond of compound 2 gave the corresponding addition products 16-19, respectively. Michael addition of compound 2 with some active methylene compounds afforded oxazolone derivatives 20-23, respectively. These prepared products were evaluated as antioxidant and corrosion inhibitors for gasoline lubricating oil and compounds 6a-e, 10 and 15 exhibited the highest antioxidant and anticorrosive activities. The effect of concentration of additives was studied to recommend the optimum concentration to be used. The results showed, for additive 15, 0.1 g for 1 L oil was the more effective concentration. Measurements for thermal analysis and of surface tension of oil after oxidation were also carried out.

New therapeutic approaches for type 1 diabetes:Disease-modifying therapies

It has been 100 years since the first successful clinical use of insulin, yet it remains the only treatment option for type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM) patients. Advances in diabetes care, such as insulin analogue therapies and new devices, including continuous glucose monitoring with continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion have improved the quality of life of patients but have no impact on the pathogenesis of the disease. They do not eliminate long-term complications and require several lifestyle sacrifices. A more ideal future therapy for T1DM, instead of supplementing the insufficient hormone production(a consequence of β-cell destruction), would also aim to stop or slow down the destructive autoimmune process. The discovery of the autoimmune nature of type 1 diabetes mellitus has presented several targets by which disease progression may be altered. The goal of disease-modifying therapies is to target autoimmune mechanisms and prevent β-cell destruction. T1DM patients with better β-cell function have better glycemic control, reduced incidence of long-term complications and hypoglycemic episodes. Unfortunately, at the time symptomatic T1DM is diagnosed, most of the insulin secreting β cells are usually lost. Therefore, to maximize the salvageable β-cell mass by disease-modifying therapies, detecting autoimmune markers in an early, optimally presymptomatic phase of T1DM is of great importance. Diseasemodifying therapies, such as immuno-and regenerative therapies are expected to take a relevant place in diabetology. The aim of this article was to provide a brief insight into the pathogenesis and course of T1DM and present the current state of disease-modifying therapeutic interventions that may impact future diabetes treatment.

Induction of oxidative stress in human aqueous and vitreous humors by Nd:YAG laser posterior capsulotomy

AIM： To evaluate whether the Q-switched Nd：YAG laser treatment applied in routine capsulotomy elicits oxidative stress in aqueous and vitreous humors. METHODS： Thirty-six patients who had to undergo a 25 gauge pars plana vitrectomy due to vitreoretinal disorders were enrolled, 15 of them underwent a Q-switched Nd：YAG laser capsulotomy 7 d before vitrectomy due to posterior capsule opacification（PCO）（Nd：YAG laser group） while the remaining 21 patients were not laser treated before vitrectomy（no Nd：YAG laser group）. Samples of the aqueous and vitreous humors were collected during vitrectomy from all patients for the assessment of oxidative parameters which were compared between the Nd：YAG laser group and no Nd：YAG laser group. Thiobarbituric acid reactive substances（TBARS）, a product of membrane lipid peroxidation, nitrite levels, the antioxidative activities of SOD and catalase, the 4-HNE-protein conjugate formation, indicating structural modifications in proteins due to lipoperoxidation, were assessed in aqueous and vitreous samples. RESULTS： In the human vitreous humor TBARS levels are significantly higher in the Nd：YAG laser group compared to the no Nd：YAG laser group and importantly, there is a significant correlation between the TBARS levels and the total energy of Nd：YAG laser used during *** the anti-oxidative activities of SOD and catalase were significantly decreased by Nd：YAG laser treatment, both in aqueous and vitreous humors. In accordance with the TBARS data and anti-oxidative enzyme activities, significantly higher levels of proteins were conjugated with the lipoperoxidation product 4-HNE in the aqueous and vitreous humors in the Nd：YAG laser-treated group in comparison to no Nd：YAG laser group. CONCLUSION： These data, clearly suggest that any change that Q-switched Nd：YAG photo disruption may cause in the aqueous and vitreous compartments, resulting in a higher level of oxidative damage might be of considerable clinical significance

Dear editor,Lung cancer(LC)is the leading cause of cancer-related mortality globally[1].Earlier detection by screening can substantially reduce LC mortality[2,3],but should be focused on those at highest risk[4].Risk stratification for LC screening,which is mostly based on smoking history[5],is far from perfect[6].Therefore,additional criteria to better define those at highest risk of LC are needed to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of LC *** risk prediction models incorporating classical LC risk factors[7].

Graves’ Disease as a Late Manifestation of Immune Reconstitution Syndrome after Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy in an HIV-1 Infected Patient

Context: Highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) inhibits the HIV replication and consequently increases CD4 levels and decreases viral load. This immune system improvement can trigger various immunological phenomena, entity called Immune Reconstitution Syndrome (IRS). Graves’ disease is a late Immune Reconstitution consequence. Patient: We report the case of a 48 years old man with HIV infection who developed Graves’ disease three years after he was on effective HAART because of the Immune Reconstitution Syndrome. At presentation he had a very low CD4 T-cell count (17 cells/μL). When he started HAART he presented a lipodystrophy syndrome. HAART was changed because of the persistent low CD4-T cells count (less than 100 cell/μL). Afterwards serum lipid levels began to decrease and that was the first manifestation of Graves’ disease, which was diagnosed when CD4 T-cells increased up to 343 cell/μL. Our patient developed Graves’ disease 36 months after initiating effective HAART with protease inhibitors which was coincident with viral suppression and a rise of CD4 T cells. Conclusion: The most immunosuppressed patients with a CD4 T cell count less than 100 cells/μL are at greatest risk for the development of Immune Reconstitution Syndrome after HAART initiation. We conclude that clinicians will have to consider the importance of the early diagnosis of thyroid disease to bring an adequate treatment.

Are Methylenetetrahydrofolate Reductase (<i>MTHFR</i>) Gene Polymorphisms C677T and A1298C Associated with Higher Risk of Pediatric Migraine in Boys and Girls?

Introduction: Women have been reported to have a higher risk for migraine. The pathogenesis of migraine is known to be related to genetic risk factors such as the presence of common polymorphisms C677T (rs1801133) and A1298C (rs1801131) in the MTHFR gene. The aim of the study was to examine the role of these two MTHFR polymorphisms as risk factors for pediatric migraine and examine the gender-specific differences. Methods: 56 patients (M = 26;F = 30) with migraine were randomly selected from Tartu University Hospital Children’s Clinic. 29 patients had migraine with aura (M = 13, F = 16) and 27 migraine without aura (M = 13, F = 14). The average age of the patients was 12.7 yrs (SD = 3.3). The control group consisted of 168 healthy people (M = 78, F = 90), ages 22 - 35 yrs (average 29.2 ± 3.4). Results: Among patients with aura, girls had higher frequency of A1298C and C677T mutations than boys, but not with statistical significance (minor allele frequency 0.406 and 0.231, p = 0.16;minor allele frequency 0.313 and 0.269, p = 0.72;respectively). In the migraine without aura group, girls had higher frequency in C677T (minor allele frequency 0.357 vs 0.231, p = 0.31) than boys. Comparing the migraine group with controls, higher frequencies of minor allele of A1298C and C677T in female patients were found (p = 0.63 and p = 0.32 respectively). In contrast, the C677T minor allele occurred in male controls with higher frequency (p = 0.34). Conclusion: Our results indicate a possible contribution of common MTHFR gene polymorphisms to migraine risk in children. 91% of children with migraine carried the variant alleles. Among girls, MTHFR polymorphisms occurred more frequently than among boys, but these differences were not statistically significant. We found that girls with migraine (with and without aura) showed an increased prevalence of C677T polymorphisms.
