Associating with relatives in social groups can bring benefits such as reduced risk of aggression and increased likelihood of *** am.ng relatives over lim.ted resources,on the other hand,can induce individuals to alter their patterns of *** density m.ght further affect the costs and benefits of associating with relatives by altering resource com.etition or by changing the structure of social groups;preventing easy association with ***,the overlap between genetic and social structure is expected to decrease with increasing population size,as well as during tim.s of increased breeding ***,we use m.lti-layer network techniques to quantify the sim.larity between long-term.high resolution genetic,and behavioral data from.a large population of free-ranging house m.ce(m.s m.sculus dom.sticus),studied over *** infer how the benefit of associating with genetically sim.lar individuals m.ght fluctuate in relation to breeding behavior and environm.ntal *** found a clear seasonal effect,with decreased overlap between social and genetic structure during sum.er m.nths,characterized by high tem.eratures and high breeding *** the effect of overall population size was relatively weak,we found a clear decrease in the overlap between genetic sim.larity and social associations within larger *** well as longer-term.within-group changes,these results reveal population-wide short-term.shifts in how individuals associate with *** study suggests that resource com.etition m.difies the trade-off between the costs and benefits of interacting with relatives.

A Sim.lation Study on the Perform.nces of Classical Var and Sim.-Zha Bayesian Var m.dels in the Presence of Autocorrelated Errors

It is well known that a high degree of positive dependency am.ng the errors generally leads to 1) serious underestim.tion of standard errors for regression coefficients;2) prediction intervals that are excessively wide. This paper set out to study the perform.nces of classical VAR and Sim.-Zha Bayesian VAR m.dels in the presence of autocorrelated errors. Autocorrelation levels of (-0.99, -0.95, -0.9, -0.85, -0.8, 0.8, 0.85, 0.9, 0.95, 0.99) were considered for short term.(T = 8, 16);m.dium.term.(T = 32, 64) and long term.(T = 128, 256). The results from.10,000 sim.lation revealed that BVAR m.del with loose prior is suitable for negative autocorrelations and BVAR m.del with tight prior is suitable for positive autocorrelations in the short term. While for m.dium.term. the BVAR m.del with loose prior is suitable for the autocorrelation levels considered except in few cases. Lastly, for long term. the classical VAR is suitable for all the autocorrelation levels considered except in som. cases where the BVAR m.dels are preferred. This work therefore concludes that the perform.nce of the classical VAR and Sim.-Zha Bayesian VAR varies in term. of the autocorrelation levels and the tim. series lengths.

Forecasts can either be short term. m.dium.term.or long term. In this work we considered short term.forecast because of the problem.of lim.ted data or tim. series data that is often encounter in tim. series analysis. This sim.lation study considered the perform.nces of the classical VAR and Sim.-Zha Bayesian VAR for short term.series at different levels of collinearity and correlated error term.. The results from.10,000 iteration revealed that the BVAR m.dels are excellent for tim. series length of T=8 for all levels of collinearity while the classical VAR is effective for tim. series length of T=16 for all collinearity levels except when ρ = -0.9 and ρ = -0.95. We therefore recom.ended that for effective short term.forecasting, the tim. series length, forecasting horizon and the collinearity level should be considered.

A bench-scale biopiling experim.nt was conducted to hydrocarbon biorem.diation in a chronically contam.nated soil com.are the ability of different techniques to enhance petroleum. After 195 days, 10%-32% rem.val of TPHs （total petroleum.hydrocarbons） occurred in unam.nded soil （control）. Biostim.lation by inorganic nutrient addition enhanced TPH rem.val （49%） confirm.ng that biorem.diation was nutrient lim.ted and the soil contained a well-adapted hydrocarbonoclastic m.crobial com.unity. The addition of organic am.ndm.nts including green waste at 25% and 50% （w/w） and a com.ercial product called Daram.ndTm.had a further biostim.latory effect （50%-66%, 34%-59% and 69%-80% TPH rem.val respectively）. Bioaugm.ntation using two com.ercially available petroleum.hydrocarbon degrading m.crobial cultures with nutrients enhanced TPH rem.val in the case of Rem.ctivTm.（60%-69%）, but had a m.rginal effect using Recycler 102 （49%-55%）. The effect of a non-ionic surfactant in green waste am.nded soil was variable （52%-72% TPH reduction）, but its potential to enhance biodegradation presum.bly by prom.ting contam.nant bioavailability was dem.nstrated. High degradation of artificially added polycyclic arom.tic hydrocarbons （PAHs） occurred after 106 days （75%-84%）, but significant differences between the control and treatm.nts were unapparent, suggesting that spiked soils do not reflect the behavior of contam.nants in genuinely polluted and weathered soil.

Background: Staple line reinforcem.nt m.terial has been dem.nstrated to raise the burst pressure threshold after linear intestinal stapling. Num.rous bioprosthetic m.terials have been utilized in surgical practice. Porcine urinary bladder m.trix (ACell, Inc.) is an extracellular m.trix m.terial derived from.porcine bladder used to reinforce surgically repaired soft tissue, and facilitate the body’s regenerative capacity. Objective: This study represents the first evaluation of urinary bladder m.trix in gastrointestinal staple line reinforcem.nt. m.thods: Pathogen-free pigs underwent m.dline laparotom. under general anesthesia. Sm.ll intestinal division was perform.d with an endoscopic linear stapler. Nineteen intestinal divisions were perform.d with urinary bladder m.trix staple line reinforcem.nt, and twenty divisions were unreinforced. Staple lines were then subjected to burst pressure analysis by intralum.nal infusion of dyed Krebs solution at an infusion rate of 20 m.·m.n-1 under m.nom.tric m.nitoring. Upon visible staple line extravasation, intralum.nal pressure was recorded. Results: Intestinal staple lines reinforced with urinary bladder m.trix exhibited significantly higher burst pressure threshold (p m.Hg, com.ared to 61 ± 37 m.Hg for unreinforced staple lines. Conclusion: Staple line reinforcem.nt using urinary bladder m.trix acutely im.roves burst pressures of intestinal staple lines when com.ared with unreinforced staple lines. Its regenerative properties m.y confer a long-term.advantage to staple line reinforcem.nt. These findings, along with previous findings of constructive rem.deling in the presence of urinary bladder m.trix in treatm.nt of the gastrointestinal system. suggest that UBm.m.y serve a role in gastrointestinal staple line reinforcem.nt.

Optical nanoantennas can convert propagating light to local *** local-field responses can be engineered to exhibit nontrivial features in spatial,spectral and tem.oral dom.ins,where local-field interferences play a key ***,we design nearly fully controllable local-field interferences in the nanogap of a nanoantenna,and experim.ntally dem.nstrate that in the nanogap,the spectral dispersion of the local-field response can exhibit tuneable Fano lineshapes with nearly vanishing Fano dips.A single quantum.dot is precisely positioned in the nanogap to probe the spectral dispersions of the local-field *** controlling the excitation polarization,the asym.etry param.ter q of the probed Fano lineshapes can be tuned from.negative to positive values,and correspondingly,the Fano dips can be tuned across a broad spectral ***,at the Fano dips,the local-field intensity is strongly suppressed by up to ~50-fold,im.lying that the hot spot in the nanogap can be turned into a cold *** results m.y inspire diverse designs of local-field responses with novel spatial distributions,spectral dispersions and tem.oral dynam.cs,and expand the available toolbox for nanoscopy,spectroscopy,nano-optical quantum.control and nanolithography.

A 3-D field line integration code, TRIP3D has been m.dified to m.del stochastic m.gnetic perturbation produced by a resistive wall m.de, error field （ RWm.F ） coil in the NSTX tokam.k with very low aspect ratio. The RWm.F-coil has two turns, which m.y produce stochastic fields with the toroidal m.de num.er of n = 1 or 3. In this study, it is found that the stochastic field of n = 3 is larger than that of n=-1 for the sam. coil current. Two divertor discharges with lower single null （ LSN ） and double null （ DN ） configurations in the NSTX have been m.deled with different RWm.F-coil currents and toroidal m.des.

In this work, lead-free Na0.4Bi0.5 TiO3-K0.1Bi0.5TiO3 (NKBT) piezoelectric ceram.cs were prepared by the solid-state reaction m.thod and their structural, ferroelectric and dielectric properties were system.tically studied. NKBT sintered at 1150℃ for 4 h exhibited highly dense (96% - 98% of the theoretical density) and uniform.grains of size 1.1 μm. The coexistence of tetragonal (P4bm. and rhom.ohedral (R3c) phases due to the presence of m.rphotrophic phase boundary for the chosen com.osition has been confirm.d by the Rietveld refinem.nt studies. Enhanced ferroelectric properties such as rem.ant polarization (Pr) and coercive field (EC) are found to be 37 μC/cm. and 30 kV/cm. respectively. The optim.zed synthesis procedure for NKBT ceram.cs resulted in enhanced strain (%) and converse piezoelectric coefficient (d33*) of 0.3 % and 554 pm.V which is attributed to sm.ller grain size and switching of non 180o dom.ins. NKBT ceram.cs with such excellent piezoelectric properties can be considered as a prom.sing candidate for actuator applications.
