Knowledge of an animal＇s home range is a crucial component in making informed management decisions. However, many home range studies are limited by study area size, and therefore may underestimate the size of the home range. In many cases, individuals have been shown to travel outside of the study area and utilize a larger area than estimated by the study design. In this study, data collected by multiple research groups studying bottlenose dolphins on the east coast of Florida were combined to determine how home range estimates increased with increasing study area size. Home range analyses utilized photo-identification data collected from 6 study areas throughout the St Johns River （S JR; Jacksonville, FL, USA） and adjacent waterways, extending a total of 253km to the southern end of Mosquito Lagoon in the Indian River Lagoon Estuarine System. Univariate kernel density estimates （KDEs） were computed for individuals with 10 or more sightings （n= 20）. Kernels were calculated for the primary study area （S JR） first, then additional kernels were calculated by combining the S JR and the next adjacent waterway; this continued in an additive fashion until all study areas were included. The 95% and 50% KDEs calculated for the S JR alone ranged from 21 to 35 km and 4 to 19 kin, respectively. The 95% and 50% KDEs calculated for all combined study areas ranged from 116 to 217 km and 9 to 70 km, respectively. This study illustrates the degree to which home range may be underestimated by the use of limited study areas and demonstrates the benefits of conducting collaborative science.

Multifunctional scaffolds with host defense peptides designed for regenerative endodontics are desirable nanobiotechnological tools for ***,different scaffolds were tested for use during the pulp revascularization process,including poly(vinyl alcohol)-PVA hydrogels or resins,collagen hydrogels and poly(vinyl alcohol)PVA/Chitosan(PVA/CS)*** on time to degradation(21 days),nanofibers were chosen to be incorporated with ciprofloxacin and IDR-1002(each at 50 mg/g).nanofibers containing ciprofloxacin and IDR-1002 had anti-biofilm activity against Enterococcus faecalis,Staphylococcus aureus and a multispecies oral biofilm,besides anti-inflammatory *** in vivo subcutaneous tissue response to tooth fragments filled with nanofibers demonstrated a pulp-like tissue formation,when compared to empty teeth ***,we designed a strong antimicrobial,immunomodulatory and regenerative candidate for pulp revascularization and regeneration procedures.

本文利用了Buch和Starr与White所计算的1950年各纬度上空的平均经向风速([V]),绘制了子午面上的平均环流(全年:图1,冬季:图2,夏季:图3),图中显示出三个环型(cell),低纬度和高纬度的两个正环型与中纬度的逆环型。 1950年平均西风急流的位置正好处于中纬度的逆环流之中。全年平均的赤道辐合线位于北纬5°左右。自夏至冬三个环型均向北移,冬季半球Hadley环型伸向夏季半球去。三个环型的强度都是冬季大。对于1950年北半球10°—70°的角动量平衡也作了分析(图4),并绘制了这个空间中角动量输送流线图(图5),其中应该提出,就是通过东西风的界面流线是铅直的,也就是总的来说,在东风带里产生的角动量不是在水平方向上输送到西风带里去,而是在铅直方向上输送到低纬度的高空西风里去,再由那里在水平方向上送到中高纬度去。最后对于平均纬圈环流的维持也作了讨论,结论是:在中高纬度大型扰动起着主导作用,在低纬度则平均经圈环流是重要的。

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

北欧和北美的研究表明,近几十年来水生生态系统中溶解有机碳(DOC)浓度增加。尽管关于溶解有机碳提高的机制还没有定论,但是一般认为其根本原因在于升温、降水变率增加和大气沉降变化等气候变化因素。本实验历时长达3年,通过在泥炭地上方1.24 m处安装红外灯积极增温,测试了增温对泥炭孔隙水组成的影响。结果发现在泥炭地下5 c m处,生长季中各处理的平均温度(n=5)比对照处理高1.9±0.4℃(t=5.03,P=0.007)。同时,在泥炭地下25 c m处,生长季中各处理的孔隙水D O C浓度(73.4±3.2 m g/L)比对照处理(63.7±2.1 m g/L)高15%(t=4.69,Pnm处的吸光度降低)。溶解有机氮(DOn)浓度变化规律与DOC一致,每单位碳中溶解的氮随着温度升高而下降。以往的研究表明,在这个实验地,增温使净初级生产力增加;同时,几丁质酶和葡萄苷酶的活性增加。本实验观察到,增温条件下DOC浓度增加,可能是因为根际微生物和植物相互作用的结果。在能去质子化生物分子池中,也探测到增温后出现较多的、独特的含有较高双键(DBE)的含氮化合物(在通过超高分辨率离子电喷雾质谱鉴定达到的所有化合物中占16%),这些化合物可能是随着增温引起的植物、微生物和酶活性增加后的产物。随着泥炭地持续升温,相对不稳定的DOC含量升高,这可能导致地表径流中DOC浓度增加,还可能作为有效的电子供体(或者受体)源使陆地和水生环境中的CO2和CH4增加。
