New Challenges for School Psychologists in the Slovak Republic

The article emphasizes the new challenges and tasks of school psychologists going from the European and Slovak health policy to support and safe human and children rights at schools, to give attention to them ental health of pupils and teachers and to their personal and professional development and well-being, to prefer prevention and preventive longitudinale programes with the emphasise upon applied positive psychology, to give great emphasis on the group and comunity counselling and career guidance programes and to the direct and indirect intervention to the educational process, and do not forget on public eduaction, research, medialization, and narrow cooperation with other specialists and experts at schools in the multidimensional teams.

The Career Guidance Program PROFTEENS in the Inclusive School in Slovakia

The study presents the characterization of the Career Guidance Program PROFTEENS used in the inclusive school in Bratislava, the Slovak Republic and provides information about the forms and methods used in the work of the counselor and the school psychologist with the mainstream students and the students with the special needs. The article also provides its advantages for the students, for the school psychologist and for the counselor.

An Application of Positive Psychology in an Inclusive Primary School in Slovakia

In recent years,there has been an increasing interest to identify and assess indicators of school quality in Slovakia.Social-emotional health of pupils and teachers has been identified as one of the most important criterion of school quality.This chapter reports on social-emotional health of pupils and teachers in a Slovak inclusive primary school.The main organizational principles of an inclusive primary school in Bratislava,Slovakia are presented.The social-emotional health of teachers and students was assessed via an adapted Social-Emotional Health Survey-Secondary(SEHS-S).Findings of this pilot project indicate that teachers and pupils reported high level of social-emotional health associated with school’s core organizational principles guided by positive education frameworks.
