This study presents a novel process for the fabrication of metal-intermetallic composites with a 3D bicontinuous structure, achieved through a combination of liquid metal dealloying(LMD) and subsequent alloying. Initially, porous Ti structures are produced using the LMD process, followed by immersion in a molten Mg-3Al(wt%) metal. Due to the higher thermodynamic miscibility of Al with Ti compared to Mg, the concentration of Al in the Ti matrix increases as the immersion time increases. This results in a sequential phase transition within the Ti matrix: α-Ti → Ti_(3)Al → Ti Al. The phase transition considerably affects the hardness and strength of the composite material,with the Mg-Ti_(3)Al-Ti Al composite exhibiting a maximum hardness nearly twice as high as that of the conventional Mg-Ti composite. This innovative process holds potential for the development of various bicontinuous metal-intermetallic composites.

When aWindows-based system is used for an exceedingly long time,its performance degrades,and the error occurrence rate tends to *** is generally called system *** investigate the reasons for system aging,various studies have been conducted within the range of the operating system kernel to the user ***,finding an accurate reason for system performance degradation remains challenging research *** this study,system monitoring was conducted by dividing a system into‘before software installation,’‘after software installation,’and‘after software removal.’We confirmed that when a software installed in a system is removed,various system elements,such as storage and memory,are not restored to the level prior to the software ***,we established a hypothesis regarding the performance degradation of a computer system owing to repeated software installation/removal operations,investigated the correlation between system aging and repeated software installation/removal operations,and proposed a system aging analysis framework for analyzing the reason behind system *** the proposed system aging analysis framework,we aim to forcibly age a Windows-based system by repeating the software installation/removal operation by utilizing the system forced aging *** framework identifies the elements affecting system performance through a differential data analysis of the system time-series data extracted by the system performance extraction and system component snapshot ***,the aging analysis framework presented in this study is expected to be effectively utilized as an index for studying system aging.

BACKGROUND The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2(SARS-CoV-2) has been found to be responsible for the recent global pandemic known as coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19). SARS-CoV-2 infections not only result in significant respiratory symptoms but also cause several extrapulmonary manifestations, such as thrombotic complications, myocardial dysfunction and arrhythmia, thyroid dysfunction, acute kidney injury, gastrointestinal symptoms, neurological symptoms, ocular symptoms, and dermatological complications. We present the first documented case of thyroid storm in a pregnant woman precipitated by *** SUMMARY A 42-year-old multiparous woman at 35 + 2 wk of gestation visited the emergency room(ER) with altered mentation, seizures, tachycardia, and high fever. The patient showed no remarkable events in the prenatal examination, and the nasopharyngeal COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction(PCR) test was positive two days before the ER visit. The results of laboratory tests, such as liver function test,serum electrolytes, blood glucose, blood urea nitrogen, and creatinine, were all within the normal ranges. However, the thyroid function test showed hyperthyroidism, and the nasopharyngeal COVID-19 PCR test was positive, as expected. No specific findings were observed on the brain computed tomography,and there were no signs of lateralization on neurological examination. Fetal heartbeat and movement were good, and there were no significant uterine contractions. The initial impression was atypical eclampsia. However, the patient’s condition worsened, and a cesarean section was performed under general anesthesia;a healthy boy was delivered, and 12 h after delivery, the patient’s seizures disappeared and consciousness was restored. The patient was referred to an endocrinologist for hyperthyroidism, and a thyroid storm with Graves’ disease was diagnosed. Sphingosine-1-phosphate(S1P)is an important lipid mediator that regulates a diverse range of intracellular cell signaling pathways that are relevant to tissue engineering and regenerative ***,the precise function of S1P in dental pulp stem cells(DPSCs)and its osteogenic differentiation remains *** here investigated the function of S1P/S1P receptor(S1PR)-mediated cellular signaling in the osteogenic differentiation of DPSCs and clarified the fundamental signaling *** results showed that S1P-treated DPSCs exhibited a low rate of differentiation toward the osteogenic phenotype in association with a marked reduction in osteogenesis-related gene expression and AKT *** note,both S1PR1/S1PR3 and S1PR2 agonists significantly downregulated the expression of osteogenic genes and suppressed AKT activation,resulting in an attenuated osteogenic capacity of *** importantly,an AKT activator completely abrogated the S1P-mediated downregulation of osteoblastic markers and partially prevented S1P-mediated attenuation effects during ***,the pro-inflammatory TNF-αcytokine promoted the infiltration of macrophages toward DPSCs and induced S1P production in both DPSCs and *** findings indicate that the elevation of S1P under inflammatory conditions suppresses the osteogenic capacity of the DPSCs responsible for regenerative endodontics.

With the introduction of 5G technology,the application of Internet of Things(IoT)devices is expanding to various industrial ***,introducing a robust,lightweight,low-cost,and low-power security solution to the IoT environment is ***,this study proposes two methods using a data compression technique to detect malicious traffic efficiently and accurately for a secure IoT *** first method,compressed sensing and learning(CSL),compresses an event log in a bitmap format to quickly detect ***,the attack log is detected using a machine-learning classification *** second method,precise re-learning after CSL(Ra-CSL),comprises a two-step *** uses CSL as the 1st step analyzer,and the 2nd step analyzer is applied using the original dataset for a log that is detected as an attack in the 1st step *** the experiment,the bitmap rule was set based on the boundary value,which was 99.6%true positive on average for the attack and benign data found by analyzing the training *** results showed that the CSL was effective in reducing the training and detection time,and Ra-CSL was effective in increasing the detection *** to the experimental results,the data compression technique reduced the memory size by up to 20%and the training and detection times by 67%when compared with the conventional *** addition,the proposed technique improves the detection accuracy;the Naive Bayes model with the highest performance showed a detection rate of approximately 99%.

BACKGROUND The optimal treatment for heart failure(HF)is a combination of appropriate *** the disease using only medical therapy is difficult in patients with HF,severe hypercapnia,and *** patients should first receive ventilator support followed by pulmonary rehabilitation(PR).CASE SUMMARY We report two cases in which arterial blood gas(ABG)improved and PR was possible with appropriate ventilator *** patients with extreme obesity complaining of worsening dyspnea–a 47-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man both diagnosed with HF–were hospitalized because of severe hypercapnia and *** proper medical treatment,hypercapnia and desaturation resolved in neither case,and both patients were transferred to the rehabilitation department for *** the time of the first consultation,the patients were bedridden because of *** demand was successfully reduced once noninvasive ventilation was *** the patients’dyspnea gradually improved to the point where they could be weaned off the ventilator during the daytime,they started engaging in functional training and aerobic *** 4 mo of followup,both patients were able to perform activities of daily living and maintain their lower body weight and normalized ABG *** Symptoms of patients with obesity and HF may improve once ABG levels are normalized through ventilator support and implementation of PR.

High- and medium-Mn (H/M-Mn) base lightweight steels are a class of ultrastrong structural materials with high ductility compared to their low-Mn counterparts with low strength and poor ***, producing these H/M-Mn materials requires the advanced or high-tech manufacturing techniques, which can unavoidably provoke labor and cost concerns. Herein, we have developed a facilestrategy that circumvents the strength–ductility trade-off in low-Mn ferritic lightweight steels, by employing low-temperature tempering-induced partitioning (LTP). This LTP treatment affords a typical Fe-2.8Mn-5.7Al-0.3C (wt.%) steel with a heterogeneous size-distribution of metastable austenite embeddedin a ferrite matrix for partitioning more carbon into smaller austenite grains than into the larger austenite ones. This size-dependent partitioning results in slip plane spacing modification and lattice strain,which act through dislocation engineering. We ascribe the simultaneous improvement in strength andtotal elongation to both the size-dependent dislocation movement in austenite grains and the controlleddeformation-induced martensitic transformation. The low-carbon-partitioned large austenite grains increase the strength and ductility as a consequence of the combined martensitic transformation andhigh dislocation density-induced hardening and by interface strengthening. Additionally, high-carbonpartitioned small austenite grains enhance the strength and ductility by planar dislocation glide (inthe low strain regime) and by cross-slipping and delayed martensitic transformation (in the high strainregime). The concept of size-dependent dislocation engineering may provide different pathways for developing a wide range of heterogeneous-structured low-Mn lightweight steels, suggesting that LTP maybe desirable for broad industrial applications at an economic cost.
