The Sensor Web has emerged from Earth Science research with the development of Web technology,to achieve process automation,sensor interoperation,and service *** promises require the discovery of the right sensor at the right time and the right location with the right ***,for sensor,platform,and data,are crucial for achieving such ***,analysis and practical use of these metadata reveals that the metadata and their associations are not applicable or suitable for the Sensor *** shortfalls are(1)the nonstandard metadata expression language;(2)the missing link between sensor and domain knowledge;(3)the insufficiency in the information for geographic locating and sensor tasking;and(4)the enhanced requirements on the quality,security,and ownership of both sensors and their sensed *** paper reviews the current standards that have metadata components for the sensor and its platform,especially those from ISO TC211,Open Geospatial Consortium Inc.,and The National Aeronautics and Space Administration Global Change Master Directory.A recommendation on metadata that meets the requirement of crossmission sensor discovery in a pervasive Web environment is derived from *** recommendation addresses issues on language formalization,sensor geolocation,semantics,quality,and *** of the emerging semantic Web technology for enabling robust discovery of sensor are discussed.

Exploring gut microbes in human health and disease:Pushing the envelope

This paper describes a wireless sensor network （WSN） based on the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers （IEEE）’s 1451.0, 1451.5, and 802.11 standards. The implementation of the IEEE-based WSN was developed at the National Institute of Standards and Technology （NIST）. The WSN consists of two wireless nodes - the Network Capable Application Processor （NCAP） node and Wireless Transducer Interface Module （WTIM） node. In operation the NCAP node communicates wirelessly with the WTIM node using the IEEE 1451.0 and IEEE 1451.5 interfaces through the IEEE 802.11 wireless communication modules. In the paper two case studies illustrate the implementation of the request and response of the sensor data and Transducer Electronic Data Sheet （TEDS） using the client-server model. The work described provides a foundation and some guidelines for implementing a wireless sensor monitoring application based on the IEEE 1451.0 and 1451.5 standards.

Humans have coevolved with their microbes over thousands of years,but this relationship,is now being dramatically affected by shifts in the collective human microbiome resulting from changes in the environment and societal *** perturbations of intestinal host-microbe interactions can lead to miscues and altered host responses that increase the risk of pathogenic processes and promote“western”disorders such as inflammatory bowel diseases,cancers,obesity,diabetes,autism,and *** the current challenges and limitations in gene therapy,approaches that can reshape the gut microbiome represent a reasonable strategy for restoring the balance between host and *** this review and commentary,we highlight recent progress in our understanding of the intestinal microbiome in the context of health and diseases,focusing on mechanistic concepts that underlie the complex relationships between host and *** these gains,many challenges lie ahead that make it difficult to close the gap between the basic sciences and clinical *** will discuss the potential therapeutic strategies that can be used to manipulate the gut microbiota,recognizing that the promise of pharmabiotics(“bugs to drugs”)is unlikely to be completely fulfilled without a greater understanding of enteric microbiota and its impact on mammalian *** leveraging the knowledge gained through these studies,we will be prepared to enter the era of personalized medicine where clinical inventions can be custom-tailored to individual patients to achieve better outcomes.

Green banking is a comparatively new development in the financial *** is a form of banking that considers the social and environmental impacts of banking *** studies on green banking focussed on customers,management,and other stakeholders without considering the perspective of employees,whose daily work is normally *** fill in the gap,the primary aim of this study is to assess factors affecting the intention of banks to adopt green banking from the perspective of employees.A questionnaire was used to collect data from 94 employees at selected banks in Koforidua,the eastern region of *** regression was used to analyse the *** study finds a significantly positive relationship between management support and intention of banks to adopt green ***,pressures from competitors and customers are found not to have a significant impact on banks’intention to adopt green *** these results are unexpected and disappointing,they provide important insights in the context that changing initiatives from the perspective of common employees are internally driven instead of externally *** suggests the importance of management’s role in facilitating green banking initiatives.

Study of Completed Archaeal Genomes and Proteomes:Hypothesis of Strong Mutational AT Pressure Existed in Their Common Predecessor

The number of completely sequenced archaeal genomes has been sufficient for a large-scale bioinformatic study. We have conducted analyses for each coding region from 36 archaeal genomes using the original CGS algorithm by calculating the total GC content （G＋C）, GC content in first, second and third codon positions as well as in fourfold and twofold degenerated sites from third codon positions, levels of arginine codon usage （Arg2： AGA/G; Arg4： CGX）, levels of amino acid usage and the entropy of amino acid content distribution. In archaeal genomes with strong GC pressure, arginine is coded preferably by GC-rich Arg4 codons, whereas in most of archaeal genomes with G＋C〈0.6, arginine is coded preferably by AT-rich Arg2 codons. In the genome of Haloquadratum walsbyi, which is closely related to GC-rich archaea, GC content has decreased mostly in third codon positions, while Arg4〉〉Arg2 bias still persists. Proteomes of archaeal species carry characteristic amino acid biases： levels of isoleucine and lysine are elevated, while levels of alanine, histidine, glutamine and cytosine are relatively decreased. Numerous genomic and proteomic biases observed can be explained by the hypothesis of previously existed strong mutational AT pressure in the common predecessor of all archaea.

At present,the stability of the new generation of solar cells based on hybrid perovskites is the bottleneck for their practical *** effects,high temperature,ultraviolet light,humidity and other known or still unknown factors might cause reduction of effectiveness or even irreversible loss of materials properties due to decomposition of functional layers within perovskite solar cells(PSCs).These factors alone have a serious impact on each component of the device,while their combinations lead to much more complicated effects and *** review focuses on the stability of PSCs and the degradation of the device in a humid *** assess the instability factors and deep-seated principles of evolution of the device structure in a humidity environment with the emphasis on the influence on their *** related solutions are reviewed from the perspective of the encapsulation,perovskite active layer,carrier transport layer and *** with the latest research,we believe that the waterproof strategy of PSCs requires either tight encapsulation or thorough modifications in the device ***,it is important to develop feasible strategies to improve the overall device stability over humid according to the target characteristics of various devices.

A new, improved version of the catalog of 182 alleles at the six Gli loci of common wheat(*** L.) shown in electrophoregrams of 128 standard genotypes was used for analysis of1060 cultivars and lines bred in the 20 th century. The most frequent alleles in the studied germplasm occurred with frequencies of 18%–40%, with 30 unique alleles, one in each cultivar. Extremely high genetic diversity was found(average H for the six main Gli loci was0.870 ± 0.046), nearly identical in winter(H = 0.831) and spring(H = 0.856) wheats but differing among 28 groups of cultivars released in 22 countries. Each country or region was characterized by its own specific set of the most frequent Gli alleles, and the 28 cultivar groups formed five main relationship clusters if polymorphism at the six Gli loci was considered. However, different levels of similarity between groups of cultivars were found if polymorphism of the A, B, or D genomes of common wheat was tested separately. In general, the 20 th century germplasm of common wheat was differentiated and structured by country or region and cultivar type(spring or winter). Each elemental genome(in particular, A and D) contributed to the structure of the polymorphism studied. We propose that the structure of the wheat germplasm was a result of natural selection under the ecoclimatic conditions of cultivation specific to each country or region. As many as 27.4% of cultivars studied violated the requirement of the DUS rules for uniformity, being represented by mixtures of two or more closely related genotypes. However, the composition of a cultivar as a set of related but different genotypes may contribute to its adaptivity, and thereby to the known high plasticity of common wheat.
